Obama Treats Military Vets To Lunch…Then Leaves Without Paying the Bill

President Obama Meets with Servicemen and Barbers for Fathers Day Lunch, and Forgets to Pay the Bill

Barack Obama isn’t necessarily known for being fiscally responsible, but it seems he may be a bit oblivious when it comes to personal finances as well as national.

ABC explains:

Amid the bustle of President Obama’s surprise stop for barbecue Wednesday the White House apparently overlooked one key detail: the bill.

Celebrating Father’s Day early, the president had lunch with two service members and two local barbers at Kenny’s BBQ on Capitol Hill.

As the group chatted about fatherhood, the president enjoyed a steaming plate of pork ribs with hot sauce, collard greens, red beans and rice and cornbread.

The bill for the president and his four guests was $55.58, but was left unpaid at the point of sale, according to pool reports.

Whoops!

Ironically, the move follows Obama’s declaration that Republicans left him the bill for a steak dinner on the economy.

Obama representatives settled this particular debt by the end of the day, and the servicemen (at least during the meal) seemed to be enjoying their time.

However, at least if the CBS video of the event is any indication, the president spent a significant percentage of the meal praising the values of barber shops– though perhaps his praise of the military was just not as heavily featured in the clip.

“The reason the two older gentlemen are here,” the president told the servicemen, “is, I was mentioning, is– barber shops are where a lot of men still come.  And we want to work with them…to figure out how we can get better information to fathers about resources that are available for them, where they can find job training programs, where they can find [support] groups for fathers, because the more information we‘re getting out there to folks about how they’re taking responsibility for their kids…it makes a huge difference.”

And while no one is against helping fathers take responsibility for their children, are barbers really the ones to be praising in the company of two servicemen, particularly on flag day?

      Barry’s analogy is laughably faulty considering that the last 3 1/2 years of Communist control by the White House is more like this example: A man walks into a restaurant, orders a steak with all the trimmings, a martini, eats his meal and leaves without paying. A man and his wife then come in the door, sit down and proceed to order everything on the menu, the most expensive bottle of wine in the cellar, then proceed to gobble down everything they ordered plus the orders of almost all the other customers while abusing and insulting the staff and complaining about the food. They then get up to leave while blaming the previous customer who left before them for the attrocious behavior and the fact that they intentionally stiffed the restaurant. THAT’S OUR PRESIDENT!

      Actually it shows how pampered he is…he’s not used to paying his own way. Why do you think he wants the government to take care of everyone else? I’ve been taking care of a handicapped adult now for 22 years. Sometimes part of me would like to be taken care of, but then I remember the lessons of my father. God gave me this child because a lesser person would have either aborted him or given him over to the state to care for out of selfishness. the President is the same way…it’s all about him and he loves having people fawn over him and pamper him.

      Don’t get me wrong, I find this story extremely ironic, considering his last analogy of Bush. But to be fair to this guy, he more than likely doesn’t even carry any money to pay. I am sure “people” handle these sorts of things for him as President. But I think it speaks to his character that this was merely a photo op, not a genuine gesture.

      He didn’t inherit anything from Bush. Budgets are not passed at the White House. They are passed by Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January of 2007 was the Democratic Party- which at the time included him.

      If Obama inherited anything at all, he inherited it from himself and the Democratic Congress.

      It would be more honest to say “I inherited a deficit that I defended as a Senator and then personally passed as a President, and I then expanded that deficit five-fold since January of 2009.

      Haha, reminds me of the two obama supporters I observed a couple years back in a chinese buffet restaurant in Orlando. They were cool cats, husband & wife both dressed in purple satin short pants outfits and made numerous trips to the all you can eat buffet line. We watched them gobble up eggrolls, rice, egg foo yung, etc and when it came time to pay the bill, they walked up to the register and says..(I kid you not),, “we find this food to be totally unacceptable & we refuse to pay”, hahahahahahahah true story, but the outfits were so classy you’d think they were millionaires. hahahahahaahahaha

      How do I know they were obama supporters? They got into a car with an obama 08 decal on the bumper.

      I agree with KICKINBACK this story reflects on Obama and his team’s ability to run things. An old high school buddy of mine is a secret service agent, and he‘s told me that President’s are not allowed to carry cash on them. When Clinton was in office they would give one of the agents pocket money for the day to pay for things like this. When they wanted a photo op of the President paying for something an agent would give him the money before he got out of the car. So, this isn’t a story about the President being cheap or thoughtless, just inept and unable to run his staff.

      Here’s a reason to vote for Romney. If Romney becomes president, at the end of four years or eight years, he will peacefully go home and someone else will become president. If Obama is re-elected in November, he will become “President for Life Barack Obama”. Another four years of Obama and we are Venezuela.

      I believe that President Romney will be GREAT!!!!! I heard Newt say that he is very impressed with not only Mitt but also his people. Glenn is starting to change his opinion about Mitt (because Mitt wants the Federal Reserve to be audited) so let’s see where we are in Nov…. Don‘t know if today was something that happened by chance or whether Mitt took a note from Newt’s book and decided to follow obama around with an uplifting message for the country…. Great idea.       I would have framed the bill and then offered it to the GOP, saying ” He´s does nothing but screw small business owners and this was just one more shot of the same. He´s been taking taxpayer money in salary, expenses, vacations, and campaign expenses. Why stop now?”

    Oh my goodness! No, 1) didn’t he just give a speach about getting stuck with the tab of whomever was sitting at the table first??? and secondly, sure! Barber shops is where men go to meet… what does that say about him bringing his barber to the white house from CHICAGO every other week???? What a flipping hypocrite!!
