We were watching when he said that. We looked at each other and asked if he said what we thought?
We both agreed, yes, that’s what he said. Perhaps it was wishful thinking. Surprised, as sharp as ‘bill O’Reilly is, he didn’t catch it and we did. Maybe I’m not so old after all to keep up with what is said. ha

“Maybe I’m not so old after all to keep up with what is said. ha”
Or, maybe you are just a ****** because you‘re the only one who thinks it’s meaningful. What, Bush didn’t make mistakes when he spoke too? Now you’re just ignoring history–the man could barely pronounce “nuclear,” we didn’t question his credentials as President (that didn’t come until later when we invaded Iraq for “terrorism” when it really seems we should have been worrying about Iran, Pakistan, North Korea, hell even Saudi Arabia, before Iraq). So he misspoke, and it just so happened to sound like something that conservatives maliciously fantasize about him believing (I doubt many are so stupid as to HONESTLY believe the President ACTIVELY wishes harm upon the U.S., even if they do think he’s done a piss poor job–I figure if the President really actively wished harm upon the U.S., he could do a lot better job than Obama has done to ruin the country)–you know that Sarah Palin confused the two Koreas right? Look, I didn’t think any less of her because of that (my expectations were already as low as they could go when she couldn’t name a single supreme court case she disagreed with other than Roe v. Wade and when she didn’t know what the Bush Doctrine was)–it was just a dumb mistake like this is, and to read more into it is just nonsense. Obama obviously thinks he’s dong whats best for the country (even if you disagree), and Palin obviously knows the difference between the two Korea

So Bush couldn’t pronounce Nuclear, big deal. Obama had no idea how to pronounce CORPS, and said it 3 or 4 times within a couple of minutes. If you want to hang the Iraq thing on Bush alone, he had the full support of Congress (because they all had the same intelligence reports),
But that aside, Bush spoke from the heart and he was honest and loves America. The difference is so blatant. Obama can’t even talk without his teleprompter that someone else writes for him.
      Nuf said.

@ The Third, in a two contestant race.

It was nice of you to drop by and hang out under the bridge.
Yes, George Bush said some not so intelligent things but you know what? He was accessible.
He did not care what people thought of him. He answered loaded questions all the time.
This is a far cry from what we have now. Someone who cannot even talk to school children without a teleprompter. He is not allowed to be without it in public because he would say much worse than Carnie.
We already know what his plan is. Just as his hero Hitler did, he wrote it in his books. Try all you want we see through you.

GIDEON: No truer words spoken. This guy/gal “the Third” isn’t very smart. Facts all wrong. That’s the way most Obama voters are, not very smart, but full of lies to refute the true.
I realized Carnie misspoke. I realize Palin has been ripped apart by the left for common mistakes, so if we poke a little fun at Carnie, then you “the third” had to get your undershorts in a wad over it.

@ THIRD A little info to help you on understanding Sarah Palin: when she was asked about the “Bush Doctrine”, she clearly did not know WHICH “Bush Doctrine” was the subject of the question because there was more than one and there was insufficient context for her to identify the particular one the nitwit lamestreamer was talking about. And then HE clearly showed that he only knew about ONE “Bush Doctrine”! — so he was both ignorant AND condescending (a typical liberal combination).

Hey, THIRD ARCHON, this was not about pronunciation or knowledge errors. Obum has a full stock of those too. This was a classic Freudian slip. Freudian slips constitute juicy revelations, because repressed beliefs/wishes surface before your conscious can block them. In other words, that was Carney’s subconscious – which doesn’t lie – leaking out the truth under pressure. Must be tough when your own conscience betrays you, huh?

Hahaha. Obum lies, but his mouthpiece exposes him. Priceless.

No, that was truth at last! Obama has only one goal, re-election. Anything that gets in the way of that goal will suffer. The economy is in the way of that goal, so he will do nothing real to fix it because to fix it will violate the tax and spend precepts of his party.

“Obama has only one goal, re-election.”
Which is different from other politicians how exactly?
“ The economy is in the way of that goal”
How is the economy in the way of that goal? Wouldn’t the economy doing well actually improve his chances at re-election?

“so he will do nothing real to fix it because to fix it will violate the tax and spend precepts of his party.”
Wait, I thought you just said nothing was more important to Obama than his re-election, and that that was his only goal. I had assumed that his only goal, re-election, would have superseded his loyalty to his party, but apparently not–apparently he will actually do things which hurt his re-election chances in order to fulfill the mission of his party, which as we all know and is so patently obvious, is the destruction of America. You know, for the record “tax and spend” isn‘t the Democratic Party’s platform–it’s what governments do. Point to one Republican Congress and/or Presidency in which taxes weren’t taken in and then spent, usually on an almost identical mix of programs (mostly defense, social security, and medicare, and tax benefits) between Democrat/Republican governments. Nor can you really claim the “balanced budget” ground, since every Republican in recent memory (Reagan and both Bushes) left office with a larger federal deficit than when they started. In fact, the ONLY person to balance the budget, and give us a surplus, was a DEMOCRAT, Clinton.

Obama could have done all this work in his first 2 years when he had all the votes from the House and Senate to pass whatever he wanted to pass to get jobs back to this country. Instead, he spent more money than we had on stupid stimulus that put no one to work and was more of a scam.
Can’t remember the amounts, but it was a bunch he spent for 20 jobs at several hundred thousand dollars per job. Yeah, that really helped the job market. Everything has been a failure with him, including the Obamacare that no one wants, that he spent his time on rather than getting jobs (when he had all the house & senate to vote for a jobs bill. He’s all talk.

      Hey 3rd;

The massive Clinton tax increase of 1993 resulted in short-term increases in revenues to the government but eventually became an anchor that stopped economic growth. Clinton left the country on the brink of recession at the end of his second term in 2001. Balance and surplus are relative with the bookeeping in our federal government, just like the truth.

Gideon, do you understand the power distribution of the country? Ok, here we go. Congress (the people’s voice), they write and pass bills. Once that is done, then they go to the Senate (the state’s voice) to vote on. It then goes to the President, who is supposed to have executive experience and see that the other two houses of that branch of government have done the will of the people and are within the bounds of the constitution. That being the case, he signs it into what we people call a “law”. That is then passed to the states and the Judicial branch. Now, the President can not bypass the Congress or Senate and vote his own bill into existence to sign into law. To say that Buba Clinton balanced the budget is like saying Obama pulled the trigger that shot Osama. Just not possible. Not his job. The Congress during the 90′s (since I was alive, a voter, and conservative) was Repub’s, as was the Senate. Clinton was weak with the scandals of a dress, a downed helicopter, and a dead guy in a park. He knew he had to keep things off his back and saw the country wanted to have, as now, a balanced budget. Clinton was savvy enough to play the “game”. Obama has too much pride to allow someone else to “win” without it being his idea.

      Just askin….

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama’s promise Thursday that everything in his jobs plan will be paid for rests on highly iffy propositions.

It will only be paid for if a committee he can’t control does his bidding, if Congress puts that into law and if leaders in the future – the ones who will feel the fiscal pinch of his proposals – don’t roll it back.

Underscoring the gravity of the nation’s high employment rate, Obama chose a joint session of Congress, normally reserved for a state of the union speech, to lay out his proposals. But if the moment was extraordinary, the plan he presented was conventional Washington rhetoric in one respect: It employs sleight-of-hand accounting.

A look at some of Obama’s claims and how they compare with the facts:

OBAMA: “Everything in this bill will be paid for. Everything.”

THE FACTS: Obama did not spell out exactly how he would pay for the measures contained in his nearly $450 billion American Jobs Act, but said he would send his proposed specifics in a week to the new congressional supercommittee charged with finding budget savings. White House aides suggested that new deficit spending in the near-term to try to promote job creation would be paid for in the future – the “out years,” in legislative jargon – but they did not specify what would be cut or what revenues they would use.

Essentially, the jobs plan is an IOU from a president and lawmakers who may not even be in office down the ro

Let’s give him, Reid, Pelosi, and Biden +anyone they want to take with them, the entire amount, to be dropped by parachute right after them, over whatever desert island they want to set up their utopia on. Then let’s get Pres. Boehner, to agree to let Eric Cantor, Rick Santorium, Michelle Bachmann, et al to set about repealing ALL THE DISASTERS THIS ADMINISTRATION HAS PUT IN PLACE TO KILL JOBS!!!
Congressional Budget Office can Dynamic score that by moving with them! Let Sarah Palin become Secretary of Energy, and do away with ALL other Dept‘s unless they can prove they won’t harm the economy.
They let’s review EVERY Regulation over the last (say 70) years to see if they helped or hurt the country! An extra $50 Billion if all Lib Judges appointed since 1950 will go to help them rule their Utopia!
