Obama‘s ’Equity, Human Dignity, Fairness, and Distributive Impacts’ Exec. Order

Yesterday, President Obama made news by penning an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal reportedly showing a new pro-business approach. The op-ed announced a new executive order that would root out “dumb” and “outdated” regulations that “stifle job creation and make our economy less competitive.” But what if the order was riddled with social justice language?
It is.
What many don’t know, is that the order now allows agencies, in weighing costs and benefits for example, to consider “equity, human dignity, fairness and distributive impacts,” and each agency must “select, in choosing among alternative regulatory approaches, those approaches that maximize net benefits (including potential economic, environmental, public health and safety, and other advantages; distributive impacts; and equity).” [Emphasis added]
Translation: Reexamine regulations and choose replacements that adhere to, as much as possible, social justice principles such as “distribution” and “equity.”
That language, as well as other order as whole, raises doubts about what the order really is about. Wall Street Journal writer David Wessel asks some important questions after reading it:
So did the president actually change anything? Did he swipe a talking point from Republicans to show that he really does care about the economy? Or was this an admission that his appointees have spent the past two years making up for lost time, pushing so many rules that they may have hurt the economy?
The answer, according to Jacob Lew, the head of the White House Office of Management and Budget, is that the order isn’t really groundbreaking — it mostly reaffirms what the agencies already do.
“This is not a radical change in direction, but it is an important inflection point,” he told the Journal. The president, he said, has formalized “a set of practices that are consistent with what we have been doing,“ making it ”much more likely that things will go through the agencies reflecting that approach.”
On top of that, Wessel writes, the order isn’t as bold as it was sold:
Within 120 days, each agency is to devise “a preliminary plan…to periodically review its existing significant regulations“ to see which should be ”modified, streamlined, expanded, or repealed.” That drew applause from business and regulatory skeptics.
But that’s not anything new: Bill Clinton made a similar demand, Wessel says, in his version of Obama’s executive order in 1993 — an order that lasted six years until George W. Bush took office. And the order itself admits the Clinton order is its foundation:
This order is supplemental to and reaffirms the principles, structures, and definitions governing contemporary regulatory review that were established in Executive Order 12866 of September 30, 1993.
Then the final question is: if the order isn’t that groundbreaking, and tucked away in it are references to “equity” and “fairness,” what was the real point of signing it? Maybe fanfare? A precursor to a campaign stump speech? Something else?
“Watch what they do, not what they say,” Wessel writes in relation to whether or not the order will actual produce action. But it may be better targeted at the order’s “fairness” language.

Excellent point Quarter Horseman! – If he gets thrown out as an imposter who never was a legitimate president but a mere usurper… then no – he should not receive the normal benefits available to ex-presidents like secret service protection… And he should be asked to reimburse the treasury for all those golfing trips and joyrides he took on Air Force One!
It may sound petty to some who say that it shouldn’t matter where he was born – but that’s not he point – the point is that he AND THE ENTIRE DEMOCRAT ESTABLISHMENT KNEW that he was ineligible and they covered it up! Pelosi asked the Democrat party of Hawaii to ‘certify’ him and they REFUSED to certify Obama and Biden as an eligible ticket “under the provisions of the US Constitution”! That means Biden can be tossed out as illegitimate too!
Furthermore – you’ve got to ask yourself what the Founding Fathers were thinking when they made the eligibility requirement… Could it be that they had the foresight to understand that someone whose parents were not both committed to the USA could end up producing a child who was not committed to the USA? We need look no further than Obama himself for proof that the founding fathers knew precisely what they were doing!

On the Drudge Report there‘s an article describing how the Obama’s raked in HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars in gifts from foreign leaders during his first year in office. The BULK of the gifts came from the Despot Royalty of Saudi Arabia. Now, OIL PRICES ARE GOING TO HIT 100 DOLLARS A BARREL, and the Community Organ Grinders has literally halted our domestic drilling for oil. COINCIDENCE??????? I think not. Dalrymple: “Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

Brother, I don’t know, I really don’t. I think it can be solved peacefully, but I also know that it cannot be won *within* the system they have set up to keep us spinning our wheels. Many here haven’t learned that yet, many being new to the whole political game. But they’ll learn. Even now, Beck points out that Boehner is renaming bills in order to not be politically incorrect. They’re compromised already, a couple of weeks after being put in power. They will not “defund Obamacare” any more than they’ll do anything except pander to us for a bit then get back to business as usual. We cannot vote our way out of this.
What I do know is that no matter how much we protest, they do what they want. Is that an incorrect statement?
What I do know is that no matter how much I make myself a “better person”, that the IRS will still rape me blind daily, and that not one single law/regulation/rule will stop applying against me and my liberties. Is that an incorrect statement?
What I do know is that if a person continues to do the same thing over, and over, and over and expect different results, then this is one of the clinical definitions of insanity. Is that an incorrect statement?
You can’t win a game rigged against you. We need to stop letting them set the terms of the game. I would strongly suggest that we consider things like creating a tax-less shadow economy, getting out of the current system, however possible. I don’t have details, I just think we need to start discussing it as a community, not just on the Blaze, but everywhere we speak.

BHO knows exactly what he is doing and is a master with words, he could tell you you are a POS and you would say ‘oh thank you’ when he is done!
You see BHO cant get his way through Congress he will just use executive orders to bring in his socialist/marxist/progressive sick utopian dream. Now just as many are up in arms over this and his power grab, many like myself have been trying to gets folks attention to another great EO… PDD51
Within this document the president can seize total power over the country in the event of a catastrophe. Mind you catastrophe/crisis is NEVER defined in the document. BHO added teeth to it with the Council of Governors.
No one is paying attention to what this realy means, as suggested, and dont forget BHO loves using “crisis” to reign in his agenda!

Quite true and I wish for peace. What I don’t see is anybody besides myself and maybe one or two other people, ever, saying “Hey, isn’t it about time we stopped playing along with their game”. We have to start considering not following their script. They have us by our monetary system. Posted on January 19, 2011 at 12:11pmAnd thus the problem. I feel your frustration over what can be done compared to what we talk about should be done. It’s not enough to try and change things at the polls if all we get is more of the same. I’m a believer in models. If you want to be a millionaire follow the examples of those who created wealth. If you want to lead men, learn the principles of those who have led.
So, as ironic as it sounds we should follow the model set by the left. They started on this path a long time ago and learned that in order to destroy this government and turn it into their idea of utopia they needed a long reaching plan. They started with liberal federal judges, they own the National Bar Association, they own the media. Everywhere you turn has a left slant to it to further their cause.
I think we need to build the same infrastructure starting with leadership who: believes in this country and its constitution, can fund the machine needed to bring about the changes needed, can build the network of people that effect that change on the ground and get their ideas to the masses that already believe in the same framework but are ignored for the minority.
Sorry for the rant but unless we open our eyes and get off our tushes we’ll keep getting more of the same.

Maybe you do feel that way, or maybe you are trying to stir us up. I have faith in your convictions and your power to change. Have faith in ours. We need only be a beacon for those around us. All we can ever ask is that those around us accept the truth. Our founders designed this country to move slowly to avoid our acting on every whim. The progressives began to understand that. Instead of going full force against the mechanism as they had – like Weather Underground – they adopted long-term plan to bring about their fundemental tranformation. We must have the same patience and the same determination. Don’t let these short-term events dampen our spirits. This ship is not going to turn on a dime. We have many more election cycles onwhich to focus, many more people to wake up. Let’s not lose our steam, let’s fuel it and empower ourselves. Dr. Martin Luther King, I think, faced a much bleeker picture. The governments ruling them were not trying to be politically correct or subversive. They were blatantly and openly oppressing blacks. The rats we face cannot be so bold. They still have to put on the act and keep the political posturing. The only challenge that is bigger is exposing it because it IS subversive. Eventually, I think more Glenn Becks will stand up and cast light on the progressive agenda/subversive actions. I think more Fox News Channels will start real journalism again. But it all depends on us keeping our dsicerning eyes on the truth.

Everyone who is concerned about how the Bummer is pushing the country off the cliff should read this:
http://www.orthodoxytoday.org/articles5/GlazovDalrymple.php#
Excerpt:
“Dalrymple Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small.

“Ghost, I often find your posts inspirational and insightful. This lament… well it kind of brought a frown to my face. ”
I appreciate the kind words. I do however post straight from the hip however. Sometimes, that doesn’t impress people too much. Thank you for giving me a fair hearing however.
“Maybe you do feel that way, or maybe you are trying to stir us up. I have faith in your convictions and your power to change. Have faith in ours. We need only be a beacon for those around us. All we can ever ask is that those around us accept the truth. ”
Yes, but accepting the truth and doing nothing about it will leave you fully informed and in a prison.
“Our founders designed this country to move slowly to avoid our acting on every whim. ”
Sorta, kinda. I don’t think anybody wants violent revolution (including me).
“The progressives began to understand that. Instead of going full force against the mechanism as they had – like Weather Underground – they adopted long-term plan to bring about their fundemental tranformation. We must have the same patience and the same determination. Don’t let these short-term events dampen our spirits. This ship is not going to turn on a dime. ”
Well, here’s the deal though. They (progressives) had to work in an atmosphere of freedom, where anything they said was taken as simply fellow Americans trying to add to the American experiment. They were not censored, hunted, jailed or otherwise silenced. We will not have that luxury. We provided for them a large, open fertile field of happy and trusting people, and they took as much advantage out of that as they could. Will we face an enemy equally as open, honest, un-censoring and un-silencing? Given history and nations who’ve adopted these policies, no. Once they’re fully entrenched, we’ll be jailed, dragged through the streets, shot and destroyed. As a former military intelligence operative I’ve seen it first hand.
“We have many more election cycles onwhich to focus, many more people to wake up. Let’s not lose our steam, let’s fuel it and empower ourselves.”
This is relating to my comment about people thinking that the election cycle will help us at this point. I once felt this way…back in 1988. Experience has taught me over the decades that if voting actually worked to achieve liberty, it would be outlawed. I want to share your optimism, but cannot find a way to do so at this point. They are going to continue to lie and pull the wool over our eyes until they day when they no longer need to because they’ve taken everything, and that day is fast approaching brother.
“Dr. Martin Luther King, I think, faced a much bleeker picture. The governments ruling them were not trying to be politically correct or subversive. They were blatantly and openly oppressing blacks.”
But, as pointed out, the times were open to real change and real protest. The laws were there, but all it took was a few good men with decent intentions to change it. And further, look what they made out of Dr. King. His dream not only doesn’t exist today, it’s been turned on its ear to justify the same things from the pre-1960′s, against other races.
“The rats we face cannot be so bold. They still have to put on the act and keep the political posturing. The only challenge that is bigger is exposing it because it IS subversive. Eventually, I think more Glenn Becks will stand up and cast light on the progressive agenda/subversive actions. I think more Fox News Channels will start real journalism again. But it all depends on us keeping our dsicerning eyes on the truth.”
Right, no question we should continue exposing them. But I do not believe for one minute that we’ll have the open and un-coercive playing field we gladly gave them. Once you get a Hitler through an open and fair election within the framework of free speech and dissent you can rest assured that elections and free speech will cease immediately upon his swearing in.
To be clear (gads, I hate using that phrase now), I’d love if we started thinking of ways out of this system, it is fully too rigged against us. No violence, but rather, alternatives to economies and other ideas like that. It’s probably time we started talking about that kind of thing. Just my opinion of course.
Thanks again for the compliments, slainte.

@GhostOfJefferson
I’m with you brother – it’s difficult to not feel almost hopeless at times – but prayer has always told me that there is always a solution and to never give up hope… So far, my prayers have been correct (for my own life)…
Ayn Rand’s idea of creating a competitive society (in Atlas Shrugged) seems to me to be the answer – but NOT by leaving the USA… The answer is right in front of us in the new and growing movement to re-assert STATES RIGHTS… Montana, Idaho, Utah, Alaska, and I think South Dakota are leading the way, with many other states taking a serious look at telling the Feds they have no authority inside that state’s borders unless the state grants them permission to enter… “thus far and no further.”…
By reasserting the superiority of states’ rights over federal, each state will then compete in a ‘war of ideas’ for success. I’m betting the states with the lowest taxes and least government will be among the best places to live for economic reasons (discounting the weather)… Other people may have stronger desires to live in states that support higher welfare payments, or gay marriage, or access to free & easy drugs & abortions; but if that is what the majority in some states choose – they should have the right to experiment with that (and suffer the consequences on their own).
The point is that the liberal Progressives are deeply embedded throughout the Federal Government and will retain huge amounts of power and influence for the rest of my lifetime (no matter who is president or even who controls Congress) – The best solution is for the states to refuse Federal authority, refuse to allow the IRS to collect taxes within the states borders without the state agreeing to the amounts/percentages… refuse to participate in unfounded Federal programs, basically to de-fund the Federal apparatus!
The states must reassert their constitutionally documented superiority over the Federal government. As happened with the slow implementation of Progressivism, this will have to be a gradual thing, but eventually there will be a tipping point when the Progressives won’t be able to do anything else to stop it. What are they going to do – invade Alaska, Montana, Utah, Idaho, etc?
When enough states are enforcing the constitutional limits on Federal bureaucracy, through the original system of State authority and autonomy, the Federal system will be forced to return to its roots of defending our borders, assisting states with interstate crimes, and providing a court system. Meanwhile, some states will transform into thriving pockets of economic power while others will suffer the consequences of too much Progressivism, but they will no longer be able to pass that burden on to other states.
I say ‘Divide and Conquer’ the Progressives by shrugging off the Federal government and literally moving to those states which best honor freedom and productivity, leaving the “Progressive” thieves to cannibalize their own.

Report Post »“The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a human being, and the mind of a human was given to it.” Obviously, if that reperesents the U.S., we are in for hard times. Perhaps having the wings ripped off represents the end of the domination of our currency. The second interpretation was that there is no mention of the U.S. in the end times. Meaning that it is long gone before the end of days. I’m not sure anything can be done to change it. Perhaps our best bet is prayer for God to delay his judgement.
I don’t see a good outcome ultimately for the country. I love this country and want to see it last forever but it’s not going to. When I shared this with one of the teachers I was told I should look forward to the kingdom that Christ will rule and I do but, I still mourn for the country.

I agree that all federal regulations need to be re-evaluated as to their “distributive impacts” since wherever there is redistribution of wealth via the tax code it is ARMED ROBBERY and should be ended!
All redistribution of wealth via taxation is ARMED ROBBERY!
ALL re-distributive schemes (Welfare, SSI, Farm/Bank/Auto Subsidies, etc.) are THEFT from those that produce to give to those that don’t (after ~60% loss in the process). Since all such plans deny some citizens of their property so it can be given to some other citizens without due process, on a per citizen basis, ALL redistribution of wealth in the Code of Federal Regulations is also UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

“Ghostofjefferson, it’s time to collect as many guns as we can and grow our own food etc. They can’t tax us if he trade for things too. Bullets and ammo makes good money.”
There you go, that‘s a start down the path I’m talking about. A start, not an end goal mind you. Most everybody can make or do something unique in the area they live in. I can, I make beer, I make wine (Glenn would not come to my house, lol), I grow my own food and can/dehydrate it. I do other things. Everybody else, has their “things”. Everybody has neighbors, and if we’ve all been good about going out and speaking to our neighbors, in helping them see what this nation is becoming, there’s a fair chance we now have *sympathetic* neighbors. Start trading with them, cash (or silver or barter).
The powers that be have three real controls over us.
1) The tax/inflation control they wield through Congress and the Fed Reserve
2) A vast “paper trail” database that they may not have directly compiled but which they can access whenever they want. In other words, the more hooked in you are with technology, the more you’re traceable.
3) Our continued belief in the now-fiction that we’re a free nation, which they gladly help advocate whenever they can.
Of the three, number 3 is easiest to refute. We’re taxed, regulated, and legalized in EVERYTHING we do except thinking thoughts silently in our heads and kissing our children good night. Freedom as the Founders understood it means the ability to do something, as long as it harms no other person, without interference in any form (such as laws, regulations, taxes). The debate in the past was always about “does it harm somebody else” and in that framework we had a lot of legal experimentation and debate, and that’s fine and healthy. We no longer have that point brought up, our concern now is “safety, equity, human dignity, fairness and distributive impacts”, in other words, “We’ll control you under these guidelines”. We can do nothing, NOTHING, but that we’re not paying a tax or breaking/conforming to a law *somewhere* now. Number 3 should no longer be accepted carte blanche. The government does not only disdain our liberties, it has stopped the free exercise of pretty much all of them now when it feels the urge to do so.
1 and 2, will require some work. Number 1 is fixed by starting down the path that you mention. But it‘s going to have to expand to more than simply canned goods and selling ’maters to the neighbors. It’s a good start however.
Number 2 is the hardest to solve. I hate to bring up illegal immigrants, but they’ve shown us in their own bizarre way that it is possible to not only live, but thrive, in America without the slightest shred of identity or paper trail. I’m not saying “be like them” per se, but maybe we should start looking into what they do, how they do it, and such. And then, consider some options, only with us, we’ll have the American Spirit and a sense of right and wrong, liberty and justice, to work with.
Just thinking out loud of course, all hypothetical.

I’m with you, great thoughts. Galt‘s Gulch wasn’t out of the nation either, it was in Colorado I think. The Free State Project is still in the mode of trying just that kind of thing, both in New Hampshire and Wyoming. They were mostly a libertarian group, but I think most have heard of them in some way by now. It would be nice if we could hitch on that wagon, maybe, move to a state and start voting State’s and individual rights along with them. In the counties they places they occupy they do seem to be having some kind of effect, but how much I don’t know first hand. That’s one possible solution.
I don’t know about you but I wake up every morning just *hoping* to read that Texas has opted out of the Union. My wife and I have discussed it, and if that ever happens, we’re quitting our jobs, packing and moving to Texas ASAP. Same for NH or WY.
That’s probably one of the only truly peaceful political options we have left right now. Emigrate to an already semi-free state, force the State into following our will (local elections are much more trustworthy than Federal elections, IMHO), and then getting unconstitutional Federal law and policy revoked in that state.
Good thoughts, something to consider. Thanks for the discussion, if others have ideas throw them out and let’s discuss.

I agree with so much of what you said. I almost think we need to call a national convention of our own, and go from there. We need leaders to organize it. Organization is a key factor, and if enough people refuse to pay taxes and in essence, defund the government, things might change. What are they going to do? Put the main work force in FEMA Camps? It will take the masses rising up (not in violence) united in bringing Washington to a halt with its power against the people. Time is running out for us. There IS a short-term answer as to what we can be doing about Obama’s illegal “Executive Orders”… We must demand an OPEN discussion of the constitutional requirement that the president be a “natural-born citizen” – however constitutional scholars historically defined that. Letting the Progressive media intimidate us into silence on this topic only encourages them to attempt greater frauds on the American electorate. It is by no means a ‘settled’ question…
Not only has Obama never produced a long-form birth certificate showing that he was actually born in a Hawaiian hospital with doctors in attendance… but Hawaii has never even confirmed the authenticity of the “Certificate of Live Birth” shown on the Internet as ‘proof’ he was born in Hawaii!
Fact: Hawaii did not even certify that candidate Obama met the eligibility requirements to appear on Hawaii’s presidential ballot – other than to say that he was, ‘certified’ by acclamation as the candidate who was selected by the Democratic National Convention!’… How’s that for weasel words! The normal words certifying him as a candidate ‘under the provisions of the US Constitution’ were omitted. In fact it could be interpreted that the Democratic Party of Hawaii did NOT certify Obama and Biden as their candidate on the Hawaiian ballot. This only goes to further prove that the eligibility question has never been properly investigated, much less ‘settled’.
Think about it – IF Obama were proven to be ineligible, that would at the very least make all of these executive orders null and void! At best, both Obama and Biden could be thrown out of office – leaving the position to be filled by the Speaker of the House. Now that Pelosi’s out of that slot, it is time to stop being intimidated by the Progressive media and get this issue resolved once and for all!
Even if you think he could not be forced to step down – at the very least he might be prevented from running again in 2012! – Many states are already tightening their “Proof” requirements for eligibility prior to the 2012 ballot – such that I will be surprised if Obama actually runs given the greater hurdles he is going to have to clear next time around… but why wait for 2012 – at the rate he is going he could declare martial law before then.
DO NOT LET THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA INTIMIDATE YOU… (Sarah Palin doesn’t – that’s why they hate her so much and we love her so much – she’s got ballz!) The Progressive media is so terrified of Obama’s non-eligibility being discussed that they will stop at nothing to destroy anyone who sticks their neck out for this issue… no doubt that is why Beck and O’Reilly and many others don’t want to go near this subject… but isn’t this also an opportunity to drive a stake into the heart of the Mainstream Media and the Democratic party if it could be proven they were engaged in massive fraud on the American electorate by knowingly covering up that they KNEW he was ineligible???
It is up to the grass-roots patriots to bring this out into the open so that conservative pundits can at least report on the patriot’s efforts to expose Obama without having to agree or disagree with them.
WND.com has already done all the homework! – The facts are already there for anyone to read… What are missing are enough Patriots willing to demand an accounting of the constitutional eligibility question – no matter how much we are vilified in the press.
Go to WND.com and read all the evidence on the eligibility question and you will be convinced that Obama’s ‘presidency is the greatest election fraud ever perpetrated on this country. If we let the progressive media get away with it – they’ll know there are no limits to what they can get away with in the future! – By any legal standard, Obama’s eligibility was never proven and the Democratic Party knew it all along! This must be exposed for the massive fraud that it appears to be – or else his eligibility must be proven accurately… but do NOT let the mainstream media getaway with keeping the lid on this subject because 1) This is our access to undoing much of the damage he has done and preventing his re-election, and 2) We simply cannot be intimidated by the Progressive media any more – they are engaging in massive fraud on the American people and this is our chance to expose them!

I truly believe the Bible is an “Inspired” work – Inspired by God speaking to the people who wrote it down… but I do not think it was meant to be taken literally. Have you ever seen a talking serpent? I believe this talking serpent is an allegory for how evil tempts us to disobey God instead of listening for his loving guidance. I love the Bible and refer to it often, but I look for the inspiration that it gives me – especially when it inspires me to pray for guidance by shutting out the human thoughts and listening for the spiritual, Divine guidance always available to each of us.

Let’s begin with the idea you have of the left, that it is “socialist” and “utopian.”
This is simply not true; people who self-identify as “liberal” or “progressive” in my experience usually stop short of wanting total state ownership of all production, distribution or finance, hence they aren’t socialists.
Few are hellbent on ushering in a Brave New Utopian World tomorrow; rather, most are interested in what they would describe as “pragmatic” reforms, whether redistributive, regulatory, monetary, environmental, social/cultural or whatever.
Almost none advocate violence; those who do generally talk about turning over trash cans, not laying in stashes of firearms.
You want to follow “the model set by the left” by “building infrastructure” and getting funding.
Weren’t you aware that such infrastructure already exists, in the form of various churches, schools and colleges, think tanks, and media outlets, as well as the Tea “Party,” and that few of these are exactly poorly funded?
What more is it you want exactly?

Posted on January 19, 2011 at 10:14pmLook there is only one solution to these problems. Look at Washington like the shores of Normandy. Keep storming it with people of character until enough of them have a foot hold to make a difference. Progressives will out them selves through their actions (like Scott Brown’s little R comments). Hold our representatives accountable to strict principles. Vehemently defend and support those who stand firm. Vehemently oppose (I mean VOTE OUT) the progressives in every party, in every election and primary. We must win on the battlefield of ideas and that will only occur when we get the majority of America to stand firm behind us. Right now it is just the normal tide of public opinion. If Obama keeps playing it cool he may actually have favorable approval numbers for 2012. We need to be looking further ahead. Keep tabs on every law and entitlement that must be repealed when we get a super majority and make it a reality. To fundamentally restore America we need the political power.
This is a generational fight. It will take 10 years to make an impact and 20 to regain our position in the world. Assuming we are not completely out matched by China (doubtful, but I’m just waiting for that bubble to pop).
