Obama‘s Limo ’The Beast’ Bottoms Out & Gets Stuck in Ireland

President Obama loves to use the analogy of how he and Democrats are digging the economic “car” out of the ditch. So I wonder if the Republicans will soon fire back with a bunch of jokes about Obama’s limo “The Beast” bottoming out and getting stuck today while on a trip in Ireland.

The AFP reports the incident — which was loud — occurred while the Obamas were leaving the U.S. Embassy in Dublin:

The first cars in the presidential motorcade emerged up the ramp from the car park beneath the complex in Ballsbridge and passed through the gates without incident, but The Beast quickly ran into trouble and got beached.

“The Beast was coming along and suddenly there was a loud kind of bang, metal-on-metal, grinding, crunching noise and the car was stuck,” an RTE reporter said.

The reporter said that as it drove out, the car appeared to have got its low underbelly caught on a piece of metal sticking up that a gate might lock into.

RTE said Obama and his wife Michelle stayed in the car while security officials and police officers went running over to the stranded vehicle.

After a while, the Obamas switched to another car to drive to the Marine Force One helicopter waiting to whisk them to the village of Moneygall, where one of Obama’s great-great-great-grandfathers came from.

Update: Later reports indicated that Obama was not in the vehicle that bottomed out.  He was in the second car right behind.  The first “Beast” served as the back-up vehicle.

I guess Irish eyes weren‘t smiling on Obama’s motorcade today.

Still, it’s likely “The Beast” will roll away without much damage. As the Daily Mail shows in the graphic below, its name is appropriate considering its construction:

The Mail reports “The Beast” was flown overseas for Obama’s European visit at the insistence of the Secret Service, which is cramping down on security even more in the aftermath of Osama bin Laden’s death.

    Well, it took a while for his ‘beast’ to bottom out —- his administration ‘tanked’ the day the skinny azzed closet Mohammendan took office.

    As the saying goes – it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy! At least the Irish got a chuckle out of it,too bad there’s not too much to laugh about here in the U.S.

    Glad we are footing the bill for him to visit his ancestry first hand, perhaps he’ll locate the original BC at the relatives place of abode!! -sorry couldn’t pass up the opportunity for one more BC conspiracy thought. Though he is not presidential, and I’d like to forget him, I can’t -pray for him, as he is a ruler that needs guidance from more than his czars. And, I hope they broke the mold after he was born.

      This has been one of the funniest and the best bunch of replies I’ve ever read on the Blaze. Thank you guys for making my day. That is except for one person who spends his life working from his Mom’s basement still trying to bash Bush! His remarks are such an embarrassment only to himself, so I usually ignore that fool being paid to do this. Get a life buddy!       Obama had to do something to divert attention back to himself. Netanyahu was in front of Congress, showing the USA how a true leader speaks to a group of people, and gave a speech that had people on their feet dozens of times. Every sentence he spoke was worthy of our ears, and loaded with the courage and integreity that are only words in a dictionary to the Progressives in the USA. I wish we could delect Netanyahu president of the USA in 2012. Then we would have a LEADER instead of a man who doesn’t speak truth, is in way over his head, can’t be trusted, and doesn’t have a clue about the economy or foreign policy. They put the cars, helos, and everything else into 1 or more C-130, or similar, aircraft and I think both 747′s fly too so that the enemy never knows which plane he is in.       I just googled things like “air force 1 travel cost”, “Presidential travel costs”, cost to fly AF-1″. There was a show, maybe modern marvels, that also showed how much planning it took and the costs. When “O” takes a flight to Chicago for dinner it costs tens of thousands of $. Some of these jets cost $40,000 to $60,000 per hour to fly & maintain and remember, AF-1 is never alone.

      They said the vehicle was stuck on a metal pin that is used to maybe lock the base of the gate. I don’t think so. The car is to long to return to the road in the opposit direction.Watch the center of the car on the video when it hanges on the ground the car tetar-toters on it & the back wheels are barelt touching the ground.If you think about this I‘m sure you’ve seen 18 wheelers stuck on RR Tracks & other kinds of humps in the road usually when making a turn.Something like you can go in but the grade keeps you from leaving same way you came in.

      Did they say the car was the Beast or that Obama was the Beast? I’m confused. Who said the beast with 666 on it was in the car? Or was hauling the the Beast with 666? Who said the Pres was the Beast?

      @GhostOfJefferson; once again your confusing good ol george w bush for President Obama, it is george that holds the record for most vacation days by a sitting pres,487 at camp david, and 490 at his “ranch” President Obama spent 26 days in his first year; george w.spent 69 days his first year!! ronnie raygun spent 42 days his first year.418 total days.sooo try getting your info from a better source than fox.once again,those pesky facts.they really seem to screw up everything that fox news,glenn and rush says about President Obama.
