Obama’s OFA, Churches Join Democratic Socialists for Saturday March in Washington

Attempting to overcome the popularity of Glenn Beck’s 8/28 rally, a group of around 300 liberal and progressive organizations have planned a rally on the National Mall this weekend. According to two new reports, Saturday’s 10/2 march — “One Nation, Working Together” — has also garnered the support of President Obama’s political organizing group as well as multiple churches.
As The Hill reports, the Democratic National Committee’s Organizing for America (OFA), which works to support and build off of Obama’s policies, sent out an e-mail blast supporting the upcoming rally. The message bills the event as “the biggest progressive demonstration in decades.”
A video posted on OFA’s website may offer a glimpse of what the event will look like — an election rally touting Democrats’ success over the last two years while villanizing Republicans:
But OFA is not alone in supporting the rally. Among those who have decided to sponsor the event are multiple church groups: according to the New York Times*, “the march is co-sponsored by the United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, the National Baptist Convention and several Jewish organizations.”
“As people of faith, we deeply care about the issues of justice, education and jobs, and we feel those are issues facing society we have to address,” said Amy Stapleton, a spokeswoman for the United Methodist Church, to the Times. “A march like this is something that hasn’t been accomplished since Dr. King brought people together in 1963 around issues of race, war, class and the right to decent pay and good jobs.”
That could pose some problems if the rally becomes political — which even the Times expects. While many won’t say that the rally will specifically call out Republicans while praising Democrats, “some sponsors sound unmistakably partisan.” Beck’s rally was praised for not becoming political, and instead focusing on values and religion.
“Our rally is standing up for the change we voted for two years ago,” said George Gresham, president of 1199 SEIU, a New York health care union local. He also told the Times that his union has chartered 500 buses to carry 25,000 union members to the rally. The SEIU officially endorsed Obama in 2008.
Among the other groups endorsing the rally are the NAACP, the American Federation of Teachers, Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, the SEIU, Jim Wallis’s Sojourners, the AFL-CIO, Communist Party USA, and the Democratic Socialists of America.
The rally also boasts the support of progressive personality Ed Schultz, who claims the event will draw “300 grand”:
According to Benjamin T. Jealous of the NAACP, Saturday‘s event will rival Beck’s: “We believe that our satellite photos will stack up nicely to his satellite photos.”
*(Editor’s note: The New York Times has issued a correction to its story. Consequently, The Blaze has written a follow-up that explains and accounts for new information. You can view the story here: “Does the United Methodist Church Really Support Saturday’s One Nation March?”

Our relationship could be something like the US and France. We could build the fence, lower taxes/cut spending and honor God on our side. They could have a hammer and sickle flag, high taxes and atheism on theirs. What do you think Blazers?

I’m sure the unions will pick up the tab, since they get tax-exempt staus. Just turn around and write that check out of the money the Gov’t hands to the unions.
I plan to forward this story to all my friends who may be members of the above mentioned religous groups. They need to know what thier churches are supporting.

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 12:54amAmy Stapleton, the spokeswoman for the United Methodist Church, claims that Martin Luther King said people have “the right to decent pay and good jobs.” MLK never said anything like that, and if it were true that everyone has a right to a good job and decent pay, it would mean four things: 1) anyone with a lousy job has no rights; 2) no one should be doing the lousy jobs; 3) everyone would have a good job with decent pay; and 4) no one would ever complain about their job or their pay. In the real world without political spin, people get paid for the quality of their work.
It’s a shame that Obama and his ilk exploit African-Americans and tell them not to become “integral” members of society. Obama is telling them to forget about “integration.” The sociologically segregated society has worked out fine for Obama and his liberal friends. Obama is a hypocrite who tells African-Americans that he wants to help them, but in reality he is putting them down and keeping them down because he gets rich doing it.

At the end of the day Mr. Beck’s rally was inspirational .. really dug to the core of what America has been founded on …. whether there was 5 or 5,000. Beck leaves a big stage and continues the same inspirational message on FOX on a daily basis with quality, consistency and most importantly ……….. Faith, Hope & Charity! Posted on September 27, 2010 at 12:14amI think this is a great opportunity for Conservatives to issue a challenge to all these liberal iidiots who want to rally in Washington in a effort to try to outdo Glenn Beck’s rally…
The challenge?
How about these haters raise more than the $5.5 million minus expenses that Glenn Beck raised for veterans’ charity Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Wouldn’t that put some pressure on them to actually do something positive rather than their instinctive reaction to replicate Beck. We should shame them by calling them out to raise a similar amount for a similar charity.
Here are the wacko liberal groups according to the Washington Examiner..
The march, called “One Nation Working Together,” is sponsored by the AFL-CIO, the NAACP, the Service Employees International Union, La Raza, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the American Federation of Teachers, the Rainbow Push Coalition, the Campaign for America’s Future, and several other activist groups. The event is also being promoted by Organizing for America, the permanent wing of the Obama presidential campaign, which is sending out email notices to members asking that they travel to Washington to take part.
“The One Nation march will feature human and civil rights leaders, labor leaders, environmental and peace activists, faith leaders, celebrities and sports figures…” In addition to the main organizers, participants will also include left-wing fringe groups like International ANSWER, Code Pink, and the Communist Party USA.
Since we know just how cheap and hypocritical the left is in contributing towards anything to do with patriotism, it would make them look really petty.

They have fear in the coop, slander on the hoof, al-taqiyya on the tongue and bats in the belfry — that’s their campaign strategy. They could probably maintain themselves in the type of fighting the Tea Party will give them for a few states in the North East. After that it will make no difference how many thousands of dead they have voting for them, and if Americans want the Presidency back in 2012 the Tea Party will give it to them.

It bears a mention that the difference in these rallies seems to be that Beck’s was inviting all believers in God by any name to join in the idea of restoring honor in America, while this rally, so far, sounds like it will be specific religions political groups and revolutionary groups, supporting a political bashing of one group against another. They will prove themselves….we must be strong in our resolve. Fight, not with anger, but with love and kindness. Don’t allow these people to diminish the love and decency of so many. Let them show themselves for who they are. Be witnesses and use this as an example. Even if they try to emulate the earth of 8/28, my guess is the self restraint does not exist for them. Be prideful of the love and respect of humanity that existed on 8/28 and pray that kindness and protection will prevail over these activists on 10/2. Remember that what is right is right and we are united in love, decency, honesty constitution and country. Stay the course and do it with honor.

I dont say that because of some personal dislike or distain, but for the sheer one sidedness of the groups they plan to put in close proximity of one another. Factory workers (some of them redneck good ole boys, kinda like me, but with mislead union pride on top of that) and acorn sponsored groups from south chicago and harlem to the freaks and gays from san francisco and LA, then mix in a little black panthers with communist and socialist parties. OMG!!! If someone threw in a keg or 20 of beer, I think they would all kill each other before lunch.
(I’m thinking we should take up a collection and offer the beer to them as a peace offering from the tea party, lol)
A HUGE MISTAKE!!
Glenn PLEASE set up a camera in the same place you had the camera that took the distance shots of 8/28 for a couple reasons.
1) We can get a side by side comparison of the grounds before and after
2) We can observe any and all chaos that will ensue when these people decide to riot and plunder.
Many of the people that will be there do not follow god as we know him or follow a code of conduct as patriots do. These are the self rightous, self important, selfish, supposed oppressed masses being invited to meet under the guise of representing their divisive, distinctive, inedendant views. That means at least 300 diferent activist groups and their particular agendas will have to co-exist with in arms reach of each other,
I’m not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling about this. Even though I will revell in the “I told you so’s”

If I am not mistaken did not a march take place on 8/28 to discuss HOPE,FAITH and CHARITY!!!
So this march is going to be about the seperation of CHURCH and STATE right!!!! or is it going to be about SOCIAL JUSTICE,CLASS WARFARE and how RACIST America is for electing its first mixed race President!!

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 7:32amEd Schultz must be beside himself. He was the first to come up with the idea for this rally but because only two people watch his show, the Obama/Acorn machine figured they better get behind the effort otherwise no one would show up. Will George Soros be there? What happened to the time honored principle of separation of church and state? Why are so many religious organizations behind this?

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 9:05amwhy don’t they call it what the Democrat Party really is, the National Socialist party.. the Nazis. oh, would that offend their self-hating Jewish benefactors?
Socialist societies do one thing well: first overtake the banks, health care, and school indoctrination and big business. then they kill off the unproductive, the homosexuals, and the Jews.
what makes America socialists think the agenda would not turn and apply to THEM?
HOW STUPID, these left morons.

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 11:38amYeah, but when you astroturf by busing in people from the unions it doesn’t really count. Do you cheat at solitaire too? People who attended the 8/28 rally arrived there on their own steam. The organizers of the event didn’t also organize participation. Maybe you should contact Jon Stewart to combine with his 10/30 Slacker rally…

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 12:09pmOh, and Stupid Windmill, (aptly named I might add as you are stupid and your arguments have a tendency to become an “I know you are but what am I” circular argument), the Tea Party is about smaller government. If you took the time to listen to the Tea Party message instead of just arbitrarily bashing it because your communal bee hive told you to you would know that. As the Tea Party is for a smaller government ruled by WE the people, it can‘t by it’s very nature lead to fascism. In fact you could say the Tea Party is an anti-fascism movement because as we have learned from history, the bigger the government the bigger chance it has to be fascist.
I guess I don‘t understand the average liberal’s thinking. Do you not think it can happen here? I remember three years ago when every liberal was squealing like stuck pigs over the Patriot Act. Not only did YOUR Democratic President embrace the Patriot Act, he’s extended it to include the internet. The DOJ and DHH recently claimed an American has no right to privacy on the internet and that includes email. They have also determined that you have no right to privacy if you use a cell phone. Where GW just wanted to listen to your calls, BO wants to track you with the GPS on your cell. Then your little dictator BO gave himself the right to assassinate terrorists on the spot even if they are American citizens. Convicted and executed without a fair trial and a bullet to the head. Call me crazy, but given the choice, I’d take waterboarding at Gitmo over a bullet to the back of the head any day. Maybe that’s how Obama intends to solve his Gitmo problem… Finally, the Obama adminstration held a book burning party just like the Nazis.
Many people always ask how Hitler got as far as he did. How come the German people didn’t stop him? I contend at first many ignored the signs like the Hitler Youth, book burning etc because of the promise Hitler gave his voters. He was a big Hope and Change guy too. The German people gave him free passage on the road to fascism one infringement of freedom at a time all the while making excuses for him because he got the trains running on time. By the time they figured it out, it was too late because at that point, if you dared speak out against him you found yourself accused of treason and tried and convicted by the SS without benefit of a trial and sentenced to a bullet to the back of the head.

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 12:26pmPeople! Don’t fall for the premise. Let them have their rally, it is their right. Do not compare it either in size or purpose with Glenn Becks rally. They are looking to diminish Glenn Beck and by extension the tea party. Do not allow them to do that. This is a negative rally and we should just set back and view it for what it is.

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 1:49pmplease cattlers. Dick Army‘s freedom works brought thousands to both beck rally’s. Like no one saw the busses with the bloody red hand prints on it. Pahhhlease. We that follow the truth not what we’ve been told by pundints on Fox. The Fake grass roots tea party are just people that are embbarrassed too call themselves Republicans after the Failed Presidency Of one George W. Bush. Who Ran this country and the middle class into a third world country. with 2 wars, Medicare part D, and 2 tax cuts that were never paid for. Blame Obama all you want. Vote republicans back into power and watch them steal the last of the middle classes wealth and privatize your Social Security. Then Blame it on the next Democatic president. Those who dont learn the past are doomed to repeat it. Learn the real history. Not fox approved Glenn Beck revised Billionaire backed Tax cut trickle down History. Bush Expanded the government by 700 billion through 2008. Bush’s Medicare part d will cost 800 billion over 10 years. Bush increased education spending by 58% faster than inflation.Bush presided over 2.5 trillion increase in public debt through 2008. and the 2009 budget was already made By Bush. So Obama‘s first year was Bush’s written budget. Obama’s 2010 budget has everything on the budget including the 2 wars. which Bush did off budget. So if you would have added the 2 wars on budget for Bush’s 8 years he would have left 4.1 billion in debt, not including the 800 billion for the Health Insurance overhaul. which the CBO says will save 100 billion over 10 years which Republicans say isnt true with no numbers to back that claim.

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 3:37pmI am a chaplain, and a conservative as well. This joining of the churches with the socialist and the communist movement along with President Obamas confederates shows he seeks to join the forces of both church and state. If this happens, no one anywhere will be safe.
Look to the inquisitions of the middle ages in europe, along with the french and russian revolutions to see what will occur.

You dont know the truth, you have FAITH that what you’re being told IS the truth…
The leftist media lies to you and YOU fall for it every time. That makes YOU the sheep.
Sorry to break the news to you that people actually – want the truth – and the leftist media does absolutely NOTHING more than council your ego and perpetuate the perception that leftists are morally superior to anyone whom has the audacity to disagree with them.
Do you not realize you belong to a cult?
Do you not realize the elitist libs dont care about you and to them you and your issues are nothing more than a useful tool???
We on the right actually DO care, we‘re the real liberals and you’re the “children of the corn.”

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 10:21pmPHYCHOSIS, to answer your comment about the signs I think all that would be required is a replay of Harry Reid’s gaffes:
“This war is lost.”
“One of the biggest political hacks we have in Washington” referencing Greenspan.
“I think it’s going to help us” commenting about Ted Kennedy’s death.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is the ‘the hottest member’.
“A ‘light-skinned‘ African American ’with no ***** dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’ ”
I wish I could have a dollar for every excuse the Left has offered for Harry Reid. But then again, that would make me “rich” so Obama can take it from me. Why bother?
