Obama’s Proposed New Executive Order: Transparency or A Boot On The Throat?

What would you think if, before any government contracts could be awarded to private businesses, all bidders were required to reveal any and all political contributions made by the company, its executives and board of directors?

One could infer that such a rule might create the potential for the government to decide on who wins the contract based on the company’s political leanings or that of its officers, instead of getting the best company to do the job for the best price.

Additionally, such a requirement might allow the government to financially punish any company that makes donations to candidates considered to be in competition with their party’s agenda. This situation is very close to becoming reality as a draft of the order has been circulating around Washington, DC and raising quite a few eyebrows.

Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell was not pleased to hear about this and released the following written statement;

‘No White House should be able to review your political party affiliation before deciding if you’re worthy of a government contract. And no one should have to worry about whether their political support will determine their ability to get or keep a federal contract or keep their job.’

McConnell’s statement was rebutted by White House spokesperson Jay Carney  who claimed that this was more about ‘transparency’ than politics.

Not lost on fans of irony should be the fact that the same administration claiming to be fighting for transparency also accepted an award for transparency behind closed doors and without the benefit of any media coverage. And then there is last week’s Blaze story on the glaring lack of transparency from the White House visitor logs.

    I was watching the Judge last night on Fox Business, he talked about this, he was the only one against it on the panel.(scary) Don‘t be surprised if Republican’s go along with this. I believe what Glenn said the only difference in the two parties,both are taking us the same place,one’s just taking us there faster. Don’t put to much hope in 2012, I don’t see the media allowing their boy to lose.Look what they did to Bush,Barry got elected because the media crreated the image of Bush as the worst President ever.

      Watch what he does concerning immigration between now and the election, he‘ll find a way to either let illegals vote or he’ll give them amnesty amd count on them voting him back into office! He won’t risk a real election, the unions will be stuffing ballot boxes as fast as they can with bogus ballots, he‘ll get sworn in again even though he’ll be stealing the election I don’t trust him or the unions or the democratic party. The whole system is corrupt and stinks to high heaven, for goodness sakes anyone with a brain can see the country is in trouble financially and they are still playing political games on capitol hill, we have a president who’s more interested in sports than getting the country back on track! he doesn’t want the country back on track he wants a New World Order.

    Let’s get this straight, this has been done forever. This law or rule simply puts it in writing. Don’t be so foolish to not understand this history. Do you think the Continental Army froze in Valley Forge because there were not enough supplies or the crooked war suppliers of the Civil War (think about paper blankets and uniforms) of the Civil War, Harry Truman’s WWII investigations into war supplies or the $800 toilet seats were because the government gave contracts to the best and lowest bidder? What is truly sick about this law/rule is that it is now going to be government policy that it is Ok to steal and award to your political allies! WOW have we sunk to the lowest ever or what?

    White House Advisors Valerie Jarret and David Axelrod receiving “waivers” – using The White House to lobby for the Olympics in Chicago – so that Axelrod’s company could have the advertising for the Olympics – and Slumlord Valerie Jarret – and Jarret’s construction company could build the stadium for the Olympics – on locations of housing projects that she owns – that she allowed to deteriorate – so that the properties could be condemned – as a quick-fix – to building the stadium for the Olympics – although Valerie Jarret receives money from the federal government in rent subsidies for these housing projects – and is providing substandard housing for the inner city poor, blacks and minorities that she is exploiting – while Jarret is “pocketing” the federal government money in rent subsidies.

    I believe that this executive order is against the law under the Federal Aquisition Regulations. But then, they don’t care about. What this will insure is that all contractors will make the maximum financial donation to the Obumer administration filling the campaign cash buckets.

    I say, let him implement. The large firms who get big contracts have been paying bribes and making donations in order to get contracts for years. Actually, I would be interested to see the names on the lowest bidders list.

    I’m sick of seeing my country sold out to the lowest bidder and paying $7000 for a toilet seat. These contractors are big boys. Let them be honest about who they donated to. If they don’t like it, let them fight. You and I don’t need stupid , communist divergences like this to sap our energy.

    What‘s Mitch McConnell’s problem? Who do you think he hires when he needs a contractor? All these party people are a joke.

    Your going to see Nancy, Harry, Boehner and McConnell all at the same cocktail party, chatting up the president, taking meeting in the hall closet with contractors. Replace them all.

    Hmmm…What dictionary did this man learn from???? He has no clue what transparency means. Unless it is the part of transparency that means “clear” as in you can see through something because it is transparent. Well Obama is always saying, “let me be clear”. It is clear that this person is evil and full of the highest deception.

    Satan was given a lot of power, but he too is very deceived and does not have a clue that his end is coming. Maybe he does, but he just wants to take as many people with him as he can. Satan offers the world and will require your soul.

    When the devil is done using those he “uses” he then chews them up and spits them out. He loves no one. So Obama and is minions are deceived. Those who follow and drink the Kool-Aid are under spiritual deception and “clearly” not able to think for them selves.

      In previous speeches you have made such inflammatory as “We‘re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us” and “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun”.

      In making these statements you were referring to your fellow American citizens; citizens with who you disagree politically.

      While divisive statements like this might boost your approval among the most extreme amongst your supports, they do not help the country as a whole. Your country, Mr. President, the country you were appointed to lead and to unite. You have failed in your endeavor to unite the country, as promised during your campaign. We are a more divided country in almost every aspect because of tactics and statements such as these.

      Will you concede, Mr. President, you have failed in your promise to unite our great country?

      Well, the nudge came when they made it a requirement for the company to be a union shop or at the least to pay union wages when bidding on any govt contract over $25 million. Now the push that the company be Democrat/Prog/Soc leaning to win the contract. Isn’t this allowing the govt to have built in discrimination or at best to set up special interest groups? Of course, we could just hope that this is another example the O and his minions setting up an unintended consequence, whereby, all companies would contribute equally to both parties(not likely).

This is not a recent epiphany to me however if the potus can circumvent the legislative branch and create his own directives and impose rules like this…..there will be no stopping him.       Boy! You sure told them Mitch ole buddy? I bet they stop what they are doing immediately. Yea Right!. More tough talk from a man with no balls or intentions of doing anything about this. I guarantee you one thing is for certain. This legislation will pass with flying colors with no resistance whatsoever from the other side. I would like to extend my appreciation to the media for reporting this new Marxist ruling to us all so that the Republican politicians, along with all the sheeple who continue to hang their hats on the next election, will be able to make the necessary preparations so they can rollover at the appointed time. When you think of this Adminsitration on the march just think back to the 70′s and those news reports from Russia that show the Russian army marching in LOCK STEP along side the missle launching trucks as they parade past the emperor. That is our Washington today.

      @ sleazyhippo “I wish they had done that when awarding no-bid contracts to Halliburton and Blackwater”.

      Cant speak of Blackwater (God Bless Blackwater for the work they did) but as for Halliburton, Clinton set that “no bid contract” up. Bush only used the readily available tools at his disposal.Not many companies out their big enough to build an entire country.

      I don’t know what to say .. this is beyond words … apparently we now have a DICTATOR… I am sure IF they wanted to know WHO these companies politically contribute to let them work for it by checking the INCOMING donations for all the politicians..I do beleive this is a form of Political intimidation as well as discrimination.. is it not.. a few lawsuits should clear up the problem
