Occupy Atlanta Clash With Police…20 Arrested…Protesters Claim Police Accelerated Motorcycle into Demonstrators

Occupy Atlanta Clash with Police, 20 Arrested

Twenty Occupy Atlanta protesters were arrested Saturday after a rally in a city park spilled into the streets. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that nearly 150 protesters had gathered at Woodruff Park Saturday, with many setting up tents and saying they intended to stay overnight despite a police warning that anyone who remained after the park’s closing time would be arrested.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed initially issued an executive order allowing protesters to stay overnight, but later revoked it. Video shows police officers in riot gear and on horseback filling Peachtree Street as demonstrators spilled out from the park. The protesters shouted at the officers “Shame! Shame!“ and ”What about your pensions?” AP writes that a small group yelled, “Put the pigs back in their sty, we the people occupy.”

Police arrested protester Brandon Wojcik-Tremblay for felony aggravated assault against a police officer, for knocking a cop off of his motorcycle. However, Occupy Atlanta claims that peace was maintained until an officer on a motorcycle accelerated into a demonstrator. The movement posted this video on their website:

By the end of the night, 19 protesters were arrested on charges that they blocked city roads and refused to leave the park after the 11:00pm curfew, in addition to Wojcik-Tremblay, who was the first Occupy Atlanta protester to be charged with a felony.

Occupy Atlanta Clash with Police, 20 Arrested

AP reports that Occupy Atlanta organizers said Sunday that they plan to once again try to camp at Woodruff Park, setting up another showdown with police. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that the mayor’s office said Thursday that the first occupation of the park cost city taxpayers more than $451,000. On October 25, more than 50 Atlanta protesters were arrested for staying in the park after closing.

What? Police … arrested … commie insurrectionists … in … America?
Must’ve been a mistaken communication from your Progressive bigwigs. Go home boys. No one to arrest here. (Obviously.)

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We‘ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” July 17, 2008

Seriously 150 protesters. These people are getting desparate for “PUBLICITY,” and the trouble makers are ocming out! There numbers are absurdly small – and their acting like fools! Poor babies! They’ve run up their college debt! How the heck did they get into college as dumb as they are…and pray-tell, why are they not protesting the EXPENSIVE COLLEGES!

And they sure seem to be the innocent victims often. NOT!!! They’re looking for trouble and then when reality comes, and they don’t get their way – - they cry (whine) foul.

B4REALITY…..study these types of protests and you’ll see what has to come next. The 99% of all household germs are not adding the public to their numbers as they hoped. Their agitprop strategy only appeals to leftists, anarchists and the usual gaggle of dumb college students and society’s debris. The only time their numbers grow are when the unions bus in their shock troops..as we saw in Oakland. After the event…they disperse again and the numbers go back to the usual few dozen to a few hundred stallwarts depending on the city. More and more negative publicity is seeping out of the rigidly controlled OWS and media bubble that was meant to cocoon OWS from the public (which is “internal security” is always touted as “taking care of” all those rapes going on). This is why the latest Quinnipiac poll show much higher negatives than positives for OWS. They need publicity at this point..and there’s only one way to do that..get confrontational and get violent. Please remember..the professional agitators among them train to publicize incidents. They want an incident to take place in order to undermine law enforcment and garner sympathy for themselves. They know the media will play along with that also. There’s no place to go for OWS but violence. This is why we’re hearing about more and more confrontions with law enforcement.

I remember a scene from the movie ‘Soylent Green’ where front end loading dumptrucks were in a line filling the street 5 across and they drove into a crowd, scooping them up and dropping them into the back of the truck indiscriminately. Don’t think that will happen for real, but if someone can dream it up, someone can do it.

Protesters claim??? Too bad nobody has a digital camera to record all the police brutality. Plenty of eyewitness accounts, but nobody brought a camera. No chance they would lie on the police. They are good law abiding citizens and they just want the police to go back to their sty. A very reasonable and non violent request by some really nice liberals.

WRONG!!! A local Atlanta reporter was standing less than 10 feet away from the motorcycle when this happened. She said last night on TV that the officer absolutely did not hit anyone with his bike, he was moving VERY slowly and revved his engine to let people in front of him know they should move. Two “occupyers” grabbed the front wheel of the bike and another man pushed the bike over.

Policemen are generally decent average Americans. I wonder how each feel regarding the union problem. Many of the unions are backing all of these street mobs and some of the police are unionized. Would love to know what is really going on in the various police departments. Can we citizens trust them to defend us from these crazy Occupier mobs, or are the police on the Occupiers side not ours? And how does having police unions fit into the public’s need to be protected from mobs such as the lefty/ union backed Occupiers who are being played by the Democrat politicos ? A huge issue for public safety….

Many police officers are waking up to these facts. They are being used, as are many ‘useful idiots’ at “OCCUPY’. Most decent, legal, law abiding Americans are wide awake on who is protecting us, and who is trying to destroy us. Simply said, the ‘inmates’ are running the jails, courts, judges and convictions. Head to tail, the administration is pure evil.

Anyway, somewhere in there, (there’s 2 articles) it says the police weren’t doing a very good job so finally the Fire Dept had to come and help disperse the occupiers so the people could leave the building. I hope the police are on our side but who knows anymore… I say we have to make sure we can protect ourselves and our families no matter what… We can’t depend on anyone or anything.

If you believe, even for a moment, that the police will ever protect you, do yourself a favor. Go to google, type in the two simple words “no duty”, and read the truth.

Further, while I believe these “protesters” are useful idiots in a globalist communism movement, the unionized cops are on the same team they are. It is no mistake that a trained criminal psychologist cannot tell the difference between the profile of a cop, and of a criminal.

I am a police officer and politically conservative and a union member. I do not agree with the OWS movement and have not agreed with it since its inception. When I see large crowds belittle police on a large scale it makes my blood boil. It is enough that we have to hear it from just about every citizen on the street that gets a ticket or gets arrested, but to have a hundred people scream at you because you are doing the job that you are hired to do. People wonder why the police are always so mean…….look what we get to deal with every day?

They will do their best but when push comes to shove I would be (will be) home protecting my family, but I am not a cop.
      God bless the police.

Oh, yes. The word “pigs.” Been so long hidden in the populist, anti-rich/fat cat rhetoric. Well, folks, welcome back to the 1960′s. A time when drugs, sex, rock and roll, and hatred for ” authority ,” laws and rules reigned. Not a fun time. Charles Manson. Assassinations. Bank robberies. Weatherman town home bombings. Just a real nasty, immoral mess. Know what the difference between then and now was ? Today the president only says he “shares” their frustration ( from the guy who voted “present” when he was briefly in the senate ) The government was NOT on the side of the immoral, lawless, crazed idiots who were breaking the law! Gee, Thanks, Bill Ayers, the Weatherman, the Far Left, the Black Muslims, the Black for going away back then. Are there today enough adults, enough patriots , enough sensible Americans , enough military and non-union police, to make this new tsunami of miscreants go away like their predecessors like those nightmares ones from the past? Our president? A shocking example of government gone bad and ineffective.

My basic point ( Black..Panthers ) was that the hate filled, destructive groups from the past went away. Will we be able to make that happen again today when our own president and his party is stoking the flames that incites these hate groups. Much worse today than even the horrors of the 60′s because back then, we had the comfort of feeling like the adults were in control. Today the “adults” are just as out of control and as Lefty brainwashed as their Useful Tools.

Why do you believe that any of these miscreants went away? Where do you think they went? They’ve always been here, before and after the 60s. Many became the Marxist teachers and professors that taught our children and grandchildren, and went to work for our government and “occupy” many significant position within the political system, especially those who surround Obama. They became parents, and intentionally sent their kids to the Marxist professor to be indoctrinated. Some didn’t see the writing on the wall, and their kids turned against their parents. And so it goes.

When they have their sirens and lights going, it is in one’s best interest to get out of the way or get arrested and arrested they got what they deserved IMHO. Maintain order. When is law enforcement going to get serious and uphold the laws that apply to everyone else but not the unwashed hordes?
And I wonder if it is possible to quantify the costs borne by taxpayers that these animals are causing, as well as the costs to private businesses near the occupy sites.
Perhaps some of the celebrity and political supporters of this bowel movement would like to put up some of their own millions to cover the costs…right, mikey moore, bill maher, nancy pelosi, barry O. et al ????

Clean out the lot of them, those who defy the lawfully given orders of the police need to face arrest and have their time before the justice system; and we can continue to expect the media to hyper-use these incidents, even where the police are attacked first, as more “proof” of the evils being done to the “harmless demonstrators by the evil state police…”

Unless, God willing it will happen, these protests die out, Obama will have his event to come down hard from above.

I agree: As long as the orders are lawful and/or there is a clear cut case of law breaking do whatever you have to do to restore order. Do not coddle them as their parents obviously did.

To bad this isn’t a Tea Party Rally. It would be over in a afternoon because that movement is a sham.
