Occupy Demonstrator Has a Seizure...While Protesting Becks Book Signing

An Occupy demonstrator had an apparent seizure while protesting Glenn Beck’s book signing in Alabama Friday, forcing the Occupy participants to end their protest early.

WKRG-TV reported hundreds of Beck fans turned out in Fairhope, Ala. where he was signing copies of his latest book, “Being George Washington.” But when Beck arrived, about two dozen Occupy protesters started chanting at the front of the line.

WKRG described the scene:

For about 15 minutes the shouting was heated until one of the protestors fell and began shaking uncontrollably.  Police officers and other protesters surrounded the young man until an ambulance arrived.  This appeared to take the wind out of everyone’s sails and the protest stopped on a serious note.   The book signing continued without the loud chanting that preceded it.

    Now how long will it be until this man who had the seizure decides to sue Glenn for ‘causing’ it to have happened, by being there for the booksigning in the first place; along with suing the police and all others? Would not suprise me if many union lawers and progressive lawers are vying to take the case up if one comes about…

      “Occupy” is about gone. They said here in Atlanta that they were paying
      the homeless to Occupy for them. There was just not enough of them left
      to really cause a ruckus.

      I will counter sue for this idiot distracting people from conducting their business, and for creating a self inflicted health issue. I want that clown put in a straight jacket because he is definitely a danger to himself and others. His actions are the cause, and if medical doctors determine that seizures are a real concern, than I want him certainly put on meds in an institution for trying to commit suicide.

      Went to an event with Bill Oreilly and Glenn Beck at USF in January 2010. Person close to the stage became ill while Bill was onstage. He stopped his show waiting for EMS to arrive, waited quietly while paramedics worked on the patient and offered some kind words as he was wheeled out. Class act! By the way, so did the audience. Thoughts and prayers to Bill, Glenn and all there, also! Thank you!

      If the seizure-victim knows he is prone to having these attacks when he gets excited, his participation in a heated protest gives a clear implication of his assumption of risk.

      You bet cha SNOWLEOPARD. You are exactly right . Would not surprise me if it was an actor and the seizure wasn’t even real. (Alec Baldwin played an attorney in MY Sisters Keeper that had a seizure. He actually was convincing) Maybe it was real, but I doubt it. I still don’t understand why they would protest against the man that exposed Wall St along with all the ones that benefited from it. It seems strange to me. I think it was a set up to get publicity and to sue Beck .

      The people behind OWS must be very afraid of Glenn Beck to send them to his book signings. With good reason, Glenn Beck represents Honor and God, this is what keeps then up at night. I can only imagine that Glenn was upset about this person having a seizure, he is that kind of person. I was witness to him coming from behind the podium at the book signing in Harrisburg to pick up a small child who fell out of his Moms stroller, she was balancing 5 books and her husband was taking pictures..We were blocked from getting that close, but Glenn reacted…just like any good father would.

      Actually, my first thought is the protester got exactly what he deserved. I know there will be some people who will call me evil for thinking this, but remember the same thing could have easily happened to one of the people waiting to get their books signed, or are all of them part of the evil “1%” because they were able to buy a book? At any rate, this group is by far the most intolerant and hateful protest group I’ve ever seen, bar none. It is high time for them to go home and shut up.

      Being an epileptic myself, I believe the only external triggers are rapidly flashing lights. There’s a term for that type that escapes me.

      So, mine, for instance are complex partial and the aura (early stage, two minute warning is taste/smell)

      You can’t trigger mine with external stimulation.

      So, I believe a Neurologist will quickly put that notion to rest.

      I wonder what sort of drugs he was on at the time, or has been on. Somehow I doubt that he was taking medications that are legitimately prescribed by a physician to treat his condition. He needs to avoid deliberately exposing himself to situations involving noise, stress, and commotion.

      All of the protesters should have been arrested for creating a public nuisance (excessive noise, and probably stench as well) that clearly interfered with other people’s rights.

      Sometimes I’m glad that news reports are not Smell-a-Vision!

      Glenn came Sat. to Beaumont Texas and there was long lines, total respect for him, and no Occupiers dare to show up. We don’t play that game out here.       It could be a more simpler message of “I AM GOD! And I am in control of the world; not those who deny my existence.” In this matter, it appears to me God may have used it to get people to think what they were about to do, and if they were considering any violence against the officers and Glenn, to think twice — and to remember the compassion He wants us to have for our fellow human beings.

      Yes…..God intervened with the OWS disturbance that was disrupting the peaceful and pleasant time enjoyed by the people who came to see Beck. I feel for the person who had a seizure. I hope he/she is fine now. But it did seem to stop the annoying presence of OWS now didn’t it? I give God the credit.
