It was not a G’Day for some Occupy Melbourne prosters as riot police forcibly removed the demonstrators against corporate greed from their campsites Friday. ITN News on the clash:
The Herald Sun writes that police have clashed with protestors twice at City Square in Melbourne. Four hundred Occupy Melbourne protesters were met at the fenced-off square by dog squad officers, where “about 20 police forced themselves between the fence and the crowd, scuffling with demonstrators.” On Friday, 100 protesters were arrested from the square where Occupy Melbourne demonstrators have camped out for over a week.
The first peaceful rallies of Occupy Sydney will begin this week.

If I were from Iceland, I‘d be mad as hell about all the ’toxic waste‘ financial instruments sold to my country as ’safe, mortgage-backed securities’ from the United States of America!

Posted on October 23, 2011 at 9:02amexactly. This is what our police need to be doing. Shut it down and send them home or arrest them if they refuse to leave.
Report Post »Compare this to the Border States! The “Federal” (Corrupt) Government does nothing to stop illegal immigrants from coming into our country and refuses to let the “States” and the “Land Owners” to do anything to stop them. VS. The Local (Corrupt) City Governments are following the same playbook and allowing these illegal trespassers to take over our parks and streets, and are telling the Police and Property Owners to stand down. We the People need to let it known that we will NOT stand for this.

Posted on October 22, 2011 at 7:11pmRight! There’s no violation of “Rights” when you‘re occupying park space and it’s against the park’s rules and you get yourself removed for trashing it. Ad anyone who says Zuccoti Park isn’t trashed and full of garbage is full of it themselves. It’s become a garbage dump.

Report Post »Add to that the fact that Zuccoti Park is privately owned and have the right to remove who they wish and the story is even more bazaar. Although I believe the owners are left of center. That’s why I want this all to continue. We nee this group to be exposed for what they are. They may increase in numbers, but it will remain a small, finite number with all eyes on them. Whomever sides with them will also be exposed as societies losers. This is great theater.

Report Post »Yes, Zuccoti Park is privately owned, by Brookfield Properties and they received $135M from the Obama Administration for a windmill farm in NH just days after the Sept 17 OWS take-over. That’s why they are allowing these people to stay in Zuccoti Park. $135M from Obama and the DOE. They are being paid to allow these people to stay there. This is also why the NYPD and the Mayor can’t do anything to remove them… it’s private property. Look it up.

Posted on October 23, 2011 at 9:18amI have to hand it to our Lord Mayor Robert Doyle, I’m not a huge fan of his, but his stance with the protesters has won him my praise! Just check out this exchange between Doyle and the organizer of the Occupy Melbourne Rally:
Report Post »http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/andrewbolt/index.php/heraldsun/comments/protesters_admit_we_have_no_point
The boys and girls of Victoria Police handled themselves with honour and pride. One of the officers at the rally was quoted as saying- “No more Christine Nixon stuff”- Nixon had been one of the previous Chief Commisioners of Victoria Police who was really PC- hopefully her legacy is beginning to disappear!
The protesters have garnered themselves no sympathy here, they’ve just blocked major roads!

Posted on October 22, 2011 at 6:21pmBloomie should have enforced the laws when they were broken and not when the occupiers have been there for weeks. It endangers the police officers even more now, as well as other citizens having nothing to do with the fleabaggers.

Posted on October 22, 2011 at 6:17pmWe should have stopped these protests on the first day. Instead all we do is play games. My vote is to incarcerate the law breakers. In the US we have become the laughing stock of the world. We let the criminals rule instead of the honest civilians. It’s the same with all these illegals crossing the border. Forget building a fence, just arrest them and incarcerate them. Don’t worry about prison over crowding as I have a plan for that. We will sub-contract that business to Venezuela where they can incarcerate for less than $1 per day. Watch how quickly the crime rate drops as the word spreads about life in a Venezuela prison. It’s all about risk versus reward, make the punishment severe and they will go somewhere else to perpetrate their crimes. I haven’t heard of any OWS protesters in North Korea, have you?

Report Post »SmarterThanTheAverageBear
Posted on October 22, 2011 at 7:18pmThe analogy was only used to point out that other countries don’t tolerate law breakers like we do in the US. Perhaps Korea was an extreme example but at some point we have to draw the line and say enough. This isn’t about free speech. This is about the organized destruction of America.
