Occupy Oakland Protesters Smash Up Obama Campaign Office During March

Occupy Oakland protesters smashed the window of President Barack Obama's local campaign office during a march Friday night. (Image source: Twitter user @davidcolburn)

Between 100 and 200 Occupy protesters marched through downtown Oakland, Calif. Friday night, smashing several car windows and the glass front of President Barack Obama’s local campaign office, according to media reports.

The protesters had taken to the streets after being denied a permit to demonstrate at a monthly art walk, San Francisco ABC affiliate KGO-TV reported.

Several Obama campaign volunteers were working inside the office when the window was smashed with a brick, according to KGO. No one was hurt.

Twitter user David Colburn posted an image shortly after 9:30 p.m. showing a shattered glass window beneath an “Organizing for America” banner, with a large rock or brick still partially lodged inside.

“Smashed windows at Obama campaign’s downtown #Oakland HQ,” Colburn tweeted.

An Oakland police spokeswoman told the Contra Costa Times protesters started organizing around 9 p.m. She said police were following the protesters during their march.

Oakland has been the scene of some of the most violent clashes between Occupy protesters and law enforcement.

      Gotta remember how Hitler’s brownshirts often acted out in a way that they could deny later. The Reichstag fire is a great example, done by Nazis and blamed on the communists.

      I seem to recall that before teh Democratic convention in Denver the windows of the Obama office were smashed and they blamed conservatives until OOPS they caught the villain and he was an Obama activist. This exact same thing is what Hugo Chavez does in Venezuela. The Democrats are using his tactics.

      OWS is just a background grumble right now. They are being deliberately kept this way by a complicit media that see’s them as an embarassement, during this critical election cycle.

      Instead of the Egyptian Spring Revolution that they sought, OWS was seen by most American’s for what they were. A collection of arrogant twits, drug abusers, hateful, and ignorant. They ended up being despised, and laughed at, which was what liberals hoped would happen to the Tea Party when their media attack dogs savaged them. Instead the Tea Party grew, matured, and is now a very powerful force in American politics.

      You can bet that the liberal powers that are restraining OWS by cutting their funding, and media access, will unleash them during the Republican Convention. Black Bloc and other groups will try to do enough damage and cause enough pain that the media can spin it as a message from hurting Americans. The hope is to engage Republicans on this made up movement to distract them from the real issues, and once engaged, the Repunlicans will be fighting on a liberal controlled battlefield.

      If Romney wins you can be that the full force of OWS, the media, and Anarchists groups will be unleashed, and heavily funded. They will go full out in trying to create the Egyptian Spring that they wanted a year ago.

      We live in interesting times.

      SHAKE: I agree totally with you. The Democrats have shown us so much in underhanded , sleazy tactics from union mobs, ACORN with bullhorns, OWS , and yesterday Harry Reid for crying out loud. They are despicable. And I know that Denver incident is true. An Obama transgendered was responsible for that phony act of vandalism. Marxists only care about winning and Rules for Radicals.       My only problem with this being a Reichstag moment is that the people involved, are obstensibly on the liberal side. If the villian in your scenerio is Obama, then the false anarchists need to be right-wing extremists. It’s not enough for the top to come down, the reason for the top coming down has to bolster the people in power.

      Its the Government who makes you believe that this would lead to chaos because they want you to believe that the police can keep you safe and that people who aren’t controlled by police will rape plunder and kill. Look at the aftermath of Katrina. The majority of theft (illegally seizing tens of thousands of firearms) and majority of murders (six unarmed people shot while running away by the Danziger bridge) were committed by the POLICE.       Progressives and Unions control the State of California, just look at the elected officials in Sacramento. Doesn’t help that California is a winner take all State, which defeats the purpose of the Electoral System. Until the constituents that live in small counties wake up and take control back from the heavily populated cities, California will continue its downward spiral. Even Orange County is becoming more Progressive, sad to watch.
