Occupy Pittsburgh ‘Spokesman’ Arrested for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender

This week, new revelations about one of the so-called leaders of the Occupy Pittsburgh, James Francis Hoff, will send a chill down the spine of a great many. Hoff, who calls himself “Blue Thunder,” is a registered sex offender who allegedly failed to register his status, as required under law.

Earlier this week, he was arrested for a second time in less than a year for violating Megan’s Law (the laws governing how sex offenders must report their information for public knowledge and safety). As CBS Pittsburgh reports, records show that Hoff was convicted in 1999 of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. While he was parading around the Occupy encampment in Pittsburgh, he apparently declined to register himself as a sex offender.

 

Over the past few months, Hoff has claimed to be a Native American (he offered his “blessing” for the Occupy Pittsburgh movement on Thanksgiving) and he has labeled himself the local movement’s spokesman. You can watch footage of his Thanksgiving ritual, below:

This past November, Occupy Pittsburgh promoted Hoff and his Thanksgiving blessing on the group’s web site:

Occupy Pittsburgh member Jimmy Blue Thunder, a Delaware Indian known by most as Blue, will perform a ceremony called Kukna, meaning “First Mother, Mother Earth.”  The Kukna is a way to pay respect to the earth and give an offering to it.

Blue hopes that those who attend the event will “not only enjoy the drumming and singing, they’ll get an education.”  A focus of the day is to explain the real history behind the Thanksgiving holiday.

The current spokesperson for the local movement, Jeff Cech, awkwardly laughed on camera when a reporter asked him if other Occupiers were aware of Hoff’s criminal history (watch it here). Then, he denied the group’s knowledge of it.

“Obviously no one here had any idea of his past,” he explained. “When it became aware, he left.”

According to sources, it was a homeless man who turned Hoff in after he saw a piece of his name on a piece of his mail and became concerned about his behavior. Police then came and arrested him.

      What I find particularly funny is the number of times we’ve heard “spokesmen” for OWS deny knowledge, involvement or participation in any unpleasantry that goes on with OWS. It happens so frequently that it’s almost become an obligatory footnote to any OWS article. Violent protest occurs? “Organizers” condemn it or deny association to it. Rapes occur? “Organizers” condemn them or deny association to them. “Destruction of property occurs”? “Organizers condemn it or deny association to it. “Deaths and overdoses in camps”? Organizers condemn them or deny association to them.

      The force never mentioned that was on the streets in 1968 was the Jesus Movement. I was one of those “Jesus Freaks out in the streets handing out tickets to God”. I am amazed this news source or GB radio or TV has not covered this piece of history from that era. 3,000 hippie/Jesus Freaks were Baptized in the Pacific Ocean, and L.A. newspapers covered it. The Dallas Explo of 72 made the cover of Life Mag and was called the Jesus Woodstock, with Billy Graham and Johnny Cash on stage. We helped turn the tide through and with His Grace then, and if enough of us take up our cross and follow Him now we can do it again.

      Yep…the dregs of society are actually protesting their status. After all, how the heck does “Kill the COPS” have ANYTHING to do with “stop corporate greed!”?!?!?!
      They are a morass of malcontents led by spoiled brats, trust-fund babies, self-indebted college loan students, thugs and sex offenders that repeatedly get locked up for CRIMINAL acts of civil disobedience, property damage, crimes against persons (including throwing condoms on high school girls…wonder how the media would have reported that had it been a group of US Marines or frat boys?), and sex crimes. YEP, that’s the “99%”. Because EVERYONE I know does that…..well…ok…I admit..NOBODY that I know does that.

    Who the Hel. needs a vetting process??? I never expected the administration , the unions, the teachers, the atheists, Bill Ayers, Rev Wright nor Valerie Jarrett to do any checking on anyone.       What you say is accurate, but there is a way out and that is through Jesus Christ. In the meantime, once you get on the Lord’s side, we need to put feet to what needs to be done, and we are suppose to be the real Occupiers, and boot the phonies, along with their leaders and promoters out of our rightful place and begin to do what we can to turn this country right side up. That begins with genuine repentance for ourselves and the rest of the 100% who have gone astray.

Just social misfits latching on to a cause which justifies all of their inner rage and hatred. Sad. And the just plain “lost” souls. Dysfunctional. Unable to cope in society. Drugs. And the kind -hearted , like the cookie lady, who get sucked into this confusing mix of humanity and become the “ enablers ” for those with bad intentions and a dangerous agenda. Very sad.
