Occupy Protests Spread Worldwide: Demonstrations Planned in 82 Countries

Plans for a day of global protest kicked off Saturday with Occupy Wall Street-style demonstrations in cities in Europe, Asia and Australia.

United for Global Change, the movement behind the push for international protest, projected 951 cities in 82 countries would be taking part in rallies worldwide, including cities in England, France, Belgium, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, Russia, South Africa and Venezuela.

In London, hundreds of protesters gathered in the city’s financial district by Saturday afternoon. Police closed a subway station near where demonstrators were massing as their numbers began to overwhelm the narrow city streets, according to the Guardian.

The Associated Press reported about 5,000 people took to the streets to protest in front of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, and hundreds marched through the Bosnian city of Sarajevo carrying pictures of Che Guevara and old communist flags that read “Death to capitalism, freedom to the people.”

In Rome, a band of protesters smashed shop windows and torched cars while demonstrating against both corporate greed and Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi, who barely survived a confidence vote Friday.

CNN:

Australian cities of Melbourne and Sydney joined rallies against “corporate greed” as protesters aligned themselves with the global movement.

“Our protests are to show our solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and also protest various problems — from indigenous issues in this country to government problems,” said Alex Gard, one of the Melbourne organizers. “We know we have it better than the protesters in the States … but there are still problems in this country.”

Organizers urged protesters to bring sleeping bags and other soft items to sleep on.

“I’ve heard people say they plan to be there for days, even months,” Gard said.

AFP:

Around 500 people gathered in the heart of Hong Kong’s financial district to express their anger at the inequities and excesses of free-market capitalism, while demonstrators in Tokyo also voiced fury at the Fukushima nuclear accident.

Wong Weng-chi, a demonstrator from a group calling themselves “Left 21”, said the “Occupy Central” rally in Hong Kong was more than just an act of solidarity with the Wall Street protest, which began in September.

“Hong Kong is a key financial hub in Asia, it is a base that serves many multinational financial institutions. It is a base that serves many capitalists and the upper class to monopolise the wealth,” he told AFP.

It‘s all America’s fault! Vote in an incompetent, “Share-the-wealth” Marxist, clueless, angry at Capitalism, Big-Government Socialist/Communist President and this is what happens in the world. Really, think about it. The majority was dead wrong in 2008 and we all are paying a high price and the costs keep climbing every hour. If Obama get another 4 years, the world as we know it and the freedom we have is GONE!

You know what is hilarious? It is the fact that all of the college dopes voted for Obama because they thought he would “somehow” forgive all of thier student loans, just like the greasy little commies they are. They are getting the crap kicked out of them in the job market. Now that’s funny. That’s what you get for being little pinkos. Ha ha ha. Go on, vote for him again.

Interesting how ‘Occupy Wall Street has now gone global… in union strong countries. ( http://www.americanparchment.com ). Yes other countries have also joined on but the initial countries to move were started in unionized countries. Could this be more than just a left wing fake-movement? DEFINATELY!!!

@Roy — we may lose our final freedoms before the 2012 elections anyhow with the way Obama is doing things. I still expect some kind of “event/incident” to occur in which he will declare a national emergency, and martial law — end game.

This is so obviously being coordinated by the international union/communists. “Workers of the world, unite,” and all that garbage. I saw these people operate when I was working with one of the few conservative NGO‘s at the UN in the 90’s. That’s the first time I heard the name “George Soros.” They thought he was wonderful.

If the Hong Kong protests do not stay small, I think the China central government will go back on their promise of hands off Hong Kong and put it down. “……hundreds marched through the Bosnian city of Sarajevo carrying pictures of Che Guevara and old communist flags that read “Death to capitalism, freedom to the people.”

      Hahahahaha!!!!

Tearing down capitalism and erecting a socialist state WILL NOT WORK. There will be no money for any kind of freebie program, which is the #1 reason. And, secondly, there is a multimillion force of people on the far right who will fight these pigs to the death, and they are much more powerful, far greater in numbers, and armed to the teeth.

Communism has failed worldwide. Socialism is failing right this minute in Europe. Communism in Cuba has left that country a basket case economically.

And, these dorks want the same thing???

To those senseless geeks in the Obama administration I say to you: You will not create a socialist utopia by destroying capitalism. You will create a war that will see the radical leftist minions tried in a court of law and hanged in public for sedition, and the entire situation will erupt into civil upheaval that you could NEVER expect to win.

But, in the meantime, we owe our thanks to you for your efforts to end the fed, reduce the power and influence of the banking cartel and other transnational corporate dorks, as well as reducing the power of government, which will come about as hostilities grow more intense.

Unless they coordinate with SNAKES like Obama, and create a Martial Law situation, (And I think THAT MAY BE ATTEMPTED, but would be exposed, at least in this nation), they will NEVER get the majority in this nation to participate.

So while they can fool people in Third-World and Established Dictatorships, they don’t have a prayer of fooling the American public. They would have to to DOMINATE US, and I don’t see our Police and Military allowing that. They are OUR Sons, Brothers and Fathers, and they took THEIR OWN OATH OF ALLEGIANCE!!!

Makes one wonder why the atheists refuse to believe.

Revelation 9:13-16 and 16:12 written around 95 A.D. According to this prophecy by John: 1) An army of 200 million soldiers will cross the Euphrates River and kill many people as they head West.

Since 1961 China which is East of the Euphrates River is estimated to have a militia of 200 million armed soldiers. No nation on earth could produce and support an army as large as China can.

Take note now: When John wrote Revelation there were only around 200 million people on the face of the whole earth.

And the people of that time period prob thought John like GB was a nutter, eh?

      @culper…

The FREE MARKET does not exist in those areas. THAT IS THE PROBLEM!
When it DID exist, the competitive forces kept prices and fee structures low.

Now, we have so much government regulation, it is CAUSING high fees and prices!

obamacare was announced and discussed well in advance of its passage. It is also delayed in implementation. Once implemented, it enforces PRICE FIXING! So, it is only SURVIVAL to jack up your prices as much as possible before the PRICE FIXING takes place. That way, you have a wider margin to operate in. If you are lean and mean now, then they price fix, and EVERYONE’S costs go up (which they will, by definition with additional bureaucracy) then you have no margin to lose, and you go bankrupt overnight.

So, you should be finger-pointing at government regulation, not at corporations struggling to SURVIVE in spite of obama’s ham-handed, backdoor TAXES!

      1) You do not solve corruption in government by expanding government power and control

      2) Any form of government, even anarchy, has winners and losers (see warlords in the dictionary), the individual power shifts to different groups but there is always someone who has more money and power than others. Civilization does not exist in a power vacuum

      3) You cannot have a government or economic system free of corruption, nepotism and waste unless the individual people of the country themselves are honest, responsible, thrifty and live their individual lives with integrity

      4) The enemy of my enemy is NOT my friend, those who think that, are fated to become “useful idiots” when and once the tides turn.

      5) “It is one lesson of evil, that it flourishes in the subjective self-righteousness and grievance of a highly developed victim culture. Evil portrays itself, almost without exception, as injured innocence fighting back.”

      6) “A Commander can delegate authority, but not responsibility”-military axiom

      7) “The government turns every contingency into an excuse for enhancing power in itself.” –John Adams

      8) The solution is restoration of the current system not an overthrow in which its replacement is to be determined (by whom?) at a later time

      9) The people who are in postitions of power support/finance this thing, that should clue you in as to really stands to win when the big picture is developed

      No thanks.

It is really very simple, if they really have a beef with the banks, all these protesters need to pull their money out of the banks, stop using credit cards. Don’t ask for student loans, car loans or any other form of banking. They need to put their money where their mouth is. I think the protests are more of an excuse to “party” than to really protest anything, kind of like a festival. Won’t they be surprised when some thug decides to up the ante causing violence to erupt. And they called Glenn Beck a nut for predicting this back in the first month or two of the year. Even I thought Mr. Beck was stretching it with that prediction back then and generally find him very credible. Back then, I believed that the unrest would likely spread though the Middle East, as he predicted. I thought it a good chance it would spread to Europe, as he predicted. But I thought he was stretching it with his prediction of it spreading to the US and the rest of the world. But he called it pretty well. When are people going to stop calling him a fearmonger and start listening to him?

Mr. Beck called this and so many other things so right. The main stream media look like complete idiots to me with all this being such a surprise to them after calling Mr. Beck a nut early in the year for predicting it.

Fail to heed Mr. Beck’s admonition to prepare at your own peril.

I still remember watching a movie once where two teens were on the dam overlooking the town, they found water where there should be none and no one would believe them for “being the ignorant youths that you are, we adults know all about the stuff…”

The one part is that they took a chance and found the man who helped build it, and when he asked some very specific questions and answered given, he shook his head and headed back into the house. One of the teens asked “Where are you going?”

His response…”To pack, the dam is going to go soon, and no one will believe you either…”

Thankfully some did by the movies end, and the rest went away with the dam giving way as they warned.

Many people refuse to see danger when it is coming loud and clear. Like Beck and others have been warning, there is still a bit of time left before all the world reaches a flash point (and hopefully it will not fully ignite); with Gods guidance and help we can make it through the storm.

Just watch for when Europe goes, then the death knell for America will begin to sound, and it will be the final warning for us here.

Mayors and Governors seem to just let it go and grow. Don‘t dismiss these mobs the longer it go’s the more steam it will build. It’s gaining more power by the Nancy Peelosi types and Obama. that is the real danger.

@ Snowleopard: So why does Soros want to do this? What is he gaining? I have been a Beck watcher for years and I know the history. But let’s say a group of radical left wing nuts – that’s what they appear to be – get out in the street and protest nothing and voilence breaks out. Now what? Martial law? For how long? Where – everywhere? Seriously, there’s more of us than there are of “them.” Where are we headed and what is the end game – a one world govt? And what if the actual PEOPLE in each country don’t want that?

Think about it this way… I martial law is declared, If it’s “too dangerous” for elections, what changes in 2012? So, if you plan on changing things you first have to have your solution to the crisis. The next step is to create the crisis. The final step , after everything is now to your liking, is to get rid of everyone who might oppose you as well as everyone who you used to get there.

What? Beck has been right so many times since before 2001… I am surprised that more haven’t acknowledge that yet. Even today, he is questioned about everything. I have been doing my homework on most topics now, that I didn’t do before. I can see the dots and how they connect. Beck reports the news before it happens and most other report the news after it happens. That makes it history and we should learn from history. However, out of sight, out of mind.

Were you guys really so clueless about what was going on in our country that unless Beck told you about it you would still be in the dark? Did it really take someone on a talk radio show to tell you that something was wrong and that trouble was ahead? Think for yourselves. Open your eyes and trust your gut instincts. Don’t look for another person to come in and enlighten you and to point you in the right direction. I don’t blame you for being ignorant. The public schools brainwashed you into drinking the KoolAid. It is not your fault. At least you woke up eventually.

Somebody tell me what these people are protesting specifically please. This makes no sense. Also, did you notice that many of them have pre-printed signs? Not a sign of a “grass roots” effort – it takes weeks to get those signs designed and printed, and money to do that too. Who is behind this and what do they have to gain? The mastermind behind most of this is old Soros himself working in alliance with many socialist and radical groups; it only takes a small band of leaders, a handful in each country, to set up the groups and make events begin to happen — with almost no one to the wiser.

Also, members of the Fabian (reforge the world) society, and other radical groups like them are in on the action as well. In order to remake the world into their socialist progressive nightmare they need to ignite the world and bring the current systems down.

As to the specific reasons they are protesting, the protesters are not even sure. It’s not important. The radical powers behind it are going for chaos. The protesters don’t need to know why they are protesting. All they need to do is become more and more emotional and that will achieve the real goal.
