‘Occupy Sacramento’ Protesters Struggle to Explain Why They’re There

As the Occupy Wall Street protests surge in size and spread across the country, the Occupy Sacramento offshoot appears to be both confused, and angry when asked simple questions about their purpose.

About 300 protestors showed up in a downtown Sacramento park Thursday morning to kick off the Occupy Sacramento movement, and they did not take kindly to the the presence of a local CBS reporter. They also couldn‘t agree on why they’re there.

When the CBS reported asked the organizer of the movement what the 300 protestors were doing there, his response was “right now its kind of vague..as it stands right now that message team will reveal that tomorrow morning.”

Others listed a litany of random complaints, some with a tenuous connection to being “angry over corporate greed.”

Another protestor said into the camera, “I‘ve heard it’s anti-capitalist; I’m a socialist, I’m a Marxist communist.”

But the most vague response of the day went to a young woman who said, “I’m here to support people.”

And although the Occupy Wall Street movement has been trying to get as much attention and press coverage as possible, many of the unknowing activists became aggressive and yelled at a reporter for asking basic questions. One of them even began to swat at the camera with his hand in response to the reporter’s question.

Despite an ordinance banning overnight camping in Sacramento public spaces, the protestors planned to spend the night at Cesar Chavez park, and stay their until October 15th.

Police told remaining protestors last night of the regulations against an overnight stay, and said citations and arrests would ensue if protestors failed to leave.

Despite no coherent message and hostility towards basic discussion with outsiders, maybe the Occupy Sacramento protestors will get what they want when police have to arrest a few wailing college students and the scuffle makes its way onto computer and tv screens around the world.

      I work in banks,,,,I know a lot of people who work in banks…you would not believe the amount of dirtbag boheimain types that come in and want to withdraw money they don‘t have from their account and get pissed off cause the bank teller won’t give it to them.       @LIBgodFATHER….I watched the video hit piece done by the libs at the Beck rally. I saw a couple cooky things but for the most part these were normal hard working americans with valid comments.
      Do you really want to compair the people at the Beck rally to these druged up fools at your rally in Sacramento….that’s very wishful thinking on your part. The differance here is the little guy with the microphone doing the interviewing is not being truthful and has an agenda. The reporter in Sacramento was just trying to get a coherent person to give any kind of a statement as to why they were there….and found none, oh mabey tomorrow…..Long streach godfather.

    This mess of the Days of Rage and the Occupy cities protests are coming to AZ this month as well; for I have found out not long ago they are not only slamming into Phoenix on the 15th, they will take to many of the smaller towns around here — mainly Prescott, one of the smaller, historic areas for the state.

    Trouble is coming, and in spades soon; when the order is given from DC, I expect there to be a flash mob style series of uprisings across the nation, under cover of protests turning deliberatly violent against law officials.

      Every resident and every local business person stays behind closed doors and these protesters show up to a ghost town. They would have no access to anything other than the police who will more than likely arrest them when they get angry because there is no food or services available to them. It will make them think twice about capitalism, dontcha think??

      What you guys need in Phoenix is a really nasty sandstorm to arrive the day they arrive., if you know what I mean. Haven’t heard too much out of the whining mob that gathered in Raleigh, NC. Last I heard they were headed to join the Wall Street crowd. One of my brothers lives in Phoenix so I am sure he will keep me informed. I will be praying for you guys.

    Oh Lord, can it get any worse than these whining, foolish. “educated” idiots? They are so being used, and when they get their way and then get hurt, it’s going to be awfull for them, their long-suffering parents and society in general. Wait until they find out everything is going to go up to pay for police, garbage collectors etc. They should get their names when arrested and send them the bill (and tjeir professors.)

    Believe it or not, there are a lot of well informed union members, primarily Teamsters and AFL-CIO skilled tradesmen and some SEIU, who want responsible spending, limited government and like the Tea Party.

    You don’t see many liberal hard hats, truckers or techs. They’re great people. Many are vets who truly know about paying dues. They take their nation and their union seriously. They don’t like someone giving their hard earned cash to politicians who are part of the problem rather than the solution.

    We all know the majority of citizens are conservative. We also know that if more conservatives voted, we could easily fix the problems caused by uninformed, misinformed, illegal or deceased democrat voters.

    Just like conservatives in general, union members know they could easily replace the progressive socialist democrat liberals that have infested their leadership, by making better informed choices when nominating and electing their leaders. Let’s hope they do!

    Whether it’s liberal union leaders skimming dues for democrats or seditious democrats out to remake our Constitutional Republic into a nightmare socialist regime, it’s all about them being in control. That is, if they can collect and redistribute (steal) enough of other people’s money to buy it.

    Had enough? Vote the liberals out! Go Tea Party Teamsters!

      Well why don’t the good guys go to these protests and join them? With sufficient numbers, they can easily hijack the protests and turn them into something they were never intended to be. The current protesters probably won’t even notice the difference.
