Occupy Veterans Day Rally Bails on Central Park: Getting Ready for ‘Spring 2012 Offensive’

In a last minute switch from the proposed 11-11-11 Central Park rally, Occupy Veterans gathered a few block from Zuccotti Park to rail against the wars, Wall Street, and discuss plans for their ‘Spring 2012 Offensive.’
For reasons that were not entirely clear to the crowd, Occupy organizers pulled the plug on the Central Park Occupation at the eleventh hour. They switched the Occupy Veterans rally to the more familiar ground of Foley Square in lower Manhattan, just a few blocks away from Zuccotti Park.
When I arrived at what was now the Foley Square Veterans Day rally, an Occupy organizer took to the podium to share stories about his struggle to get the proper parks department permits, and worked in some more personal observations like “I need my goddamned food stamps.”
Below is a video of the rant describing why Occupy Central Park rally was dropped and moved to Foley Square:
Still, it was obvious that word had not gotten around to everyone about the venue switch. Only about 150 protestors were gathered in front of a podium that had large electronic speakers set up. For the first time at an Occupy rally in weeks, I wasn’t subjected to the human microphone process. In fact, the organizers took full advantage of their amplified sound permit for the rally and let 70-year-old Woodstock and Vietnam Protest icon Joan Baez take the stage.
Below is a video I took of Baez performing “Where’s my Applie Pie?”:
Soon after this Woodstock revival moment, a community organizer for a group called “Occupy the Land” discussed his groups plan in the future to wage a a campaign of organized squatting and eviction prevention through protest action. The speaker called housing a “human right,” and made the following claims in his speech:
“When we move people into vacant and government owned and foreclosed homes, we do eviction defenses to physically block police… the banks are occupying our homes, we are liberating them for human beings to use… advancing the human right to housing. Housing is a fundamental human right, if corporations want to make their profit, people can’t have a place to live…the human right to housing supersedes the right of corporations to make a profit.”
Most interestingly, the speaker closed with plans to organize Occupiers over the winter for a “Spring 2012 Offensive” to “take back the land” from the banks.
Below is a video covering most of the community organizer’s speech:
There were several Occupy Veterans that also took to the stage, including Sgt. Shamar Thomas. They stated their support for the Occupy movement and expressed their grievances against the “1%” that they believe start and benefit from all current conflicts. Veterans spoke about the global nature of the Occupy movement, and demanded more action to help the “99%” in the months ahead.
To me the whole affair felt distinctly small, not just in size, but enthusiasm and message. Veterans Day is about honoring and remembering those who have served this country and fought in our wars. Even apart from the leftist politics, any event on Veterans day that features community organizers and singers praising Tahrir square seems off key.
And with gusting winds and dropping temperatures, the crowd left me with the sense that Occupy Wall Street is losing momentum. There have been a series of violent incidents at Occupations across the country that the Occupiers cannot blame on police.
For the first time, I have started to think that perhaps the Occupiers will only have a token presence at Zuccotti Park through the winter months and go into a state of protest hibernation, only to surge back and push the movement more than ever in the Spring– just in time for the Presidential election.
I left Foley Square before the Veteran Occupiers marched back to Zuccotti– you can see photos here-– but my mind was mostly focused on what I had missed that day. Just two miles from where I was standing, a much more suitable tribute occurred to those who have fought and died for this country.
The 11-11-11 Veterans Day Parade.

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 11:41amMiss Baez is part of the crowd that never respected Viet Nam Veterans when they returned, let alone when they were fighting that war against aggression while being severely handicapped by the decisions coming out of Washington D.C. A lot of Viet Nam Veterans felt betrayed by the Federal Government and the people of the United States because the nation was changing at the time the war took place, much like it is today. Yes, even then we had Progressive Socialist’s in our society, LBJ was one of them, he’s the creator of the “Great Society”, more dependence upon the Federal Government for your income and healthcare. What is happening today is not a result of the housing market and bailouts, to put it simply it is the result of the “Great Society” becoming to dependent upon the Federal Government over the last 46 years and hard times that have fallen upon such a system creating a war between the two ideals of the working class. Some believe they are owed, while others believe in working for what they have. There are those in our society that truly need our help and support that have sacrificed much in their life, then there are those that want everything for free and just keep compounding their problems while expecting society to take care of them.

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 9:54amLet’s see, there was one suicide in New England, another death in Oaklahoma City, a shooting fatality near one of the camps in California and an overdose death elsewhere. Some fool took her class to the OWS so they could participate in storming a convention center where conservative bloggers were meeting, and the OWS people blocked the exits at another convention center on the East Coast. Let’s not forget the vandalizing of a Bank building in California either. Moving on to vehicle violations, the OWS crowds have at least two incidents chalked up to them, maybe more. And in the public health arena, there has been an outbreak of TB in Atlanta (supreme irony since it is the home of the CDC) and a undetermined cough making the rounds in Zuccotti Park. People have been using police cars and storm sewers as sanitary facilities. There have been a number of rapes reported.
Yep, this sure sounds peaceful to me. Actually, I‘ve been surprised that there haven’t been more criminal – whoops, my bad – fleabag – ah, strike that, uhm, – unusual activities reported. There probably are. I just missed seeing them in the news since I happen to be among the working population.

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 9:27amEducation is the key. When my children were in school, they came out with Goals 2000. We rallied a large group of people to oppose it, at the first meeting the school gym was full of parents. We handed out the bill and everyone took it home, no one read it. At each subsequent meeting the group became smaller and smaller. When it all ended we were only 6 or 7 strong. I still called state legislators and polled them on how they would vote, let them know I knew what was in this bill and all I got was “well come on up and we’ll have lunch.” Really?!?!? We still fought to the end and lost but we still screamed from the rooftops. The children have been hijacked, our education system has been taken over, remember the “early retirement”? Planned. It is so twisted that the young people today are living out the dreams of a group of misfits that we should have seen coming. They were very quiet and very steady. I am taking my responsibility seriously and making sure my children and grandchildren understand what is happening now with picture proof of this lot in their hayday, and the destruction they caused and how it is the same people and things happening today. It is amazing what they have been able to accomplish while we were “asleep”. As the dirty hippie says, “Teach Your Children Well.” Stay involved with the children in your life, pass down your knowledge and wisdom so maybe the generation after this one will be able to pick up the pieces.

Better to say, the problem is what the government allowed Wall Street to do: leverage to the stratosphere, cook up derivatives so complicated they had to hire people with quantum physics degrees to do the math, encourage speculation with savers’ money by repealing Glass-Steagall, develop instruments not covered by existing banking regulations–should I go on?
I suppose you know all about Community Reinvestment and the sins of Fannie and Freddie, but they were only a small part of the “It’s different this time” mentality of the ‘90s and ’00s, if you consider the actual sums involved.

He was warning against cities and the building of large cities, where people amass in large groups. It results in what we are observing with the OWS faux protests, set out by the Stoic-Sophist based socialists and communists. Notice that ALL the protests are occurring in large cities? Why not in the country? Because it would be ineffective.
If they want to shut down the big cities, thats perfectly fine with me. Shut them all down and let them fall apart, they are mostly bankrupt hulks at this point anyway. We can live fine without them. There are rural communities all over this land who can put the city dwellers to work on farms etc. Eliminate the cities, mow them down and make them into farm land and recreational areas. People in the cities will not survive the on coming devaluation of the US dollar. They simply don’t posses the skills needed to make it at this point. Once the US dollar falls (Russia, Iran Iraq pac to take over middle east oil buisiness) then we will loose people in those cities by the millions, due to simple starvation.
It will be a grueling sight to watch them starve to death, but that we shall do as we have not planned and we are not prepared for the oncoming disaster Russian has panned for us to undergo.

My guess is that extreme pressure was brought to bear by the administration on these city leaders to let it continue. Now the administration can claim sympathy with these poor downtrodden souls thereby shoring up more votes for 2011.

Don’t Assume that Republicans are your friends, for they are not. Their group or organization contains as many Stoic-Sophists as the democratic group, its just that the Republicans are actually Liberal Stoic-Sophists and the Democrats are Zealot Stoic-Sophists.
What is Stoic-Sophism you ask? Well the Apostle Paul talks about all Sophism in Colossians chapter 2. The word he uses is Philos-Sophos in the Greek in the English its philosophy. It includes various sects however Paul only discusses two sects in Acts 17 – Epicureans and Stoics.
The Stoic version of Sophism is directly tied as the basis for ALL Theocracies known as socialism, communism, progressivism, darwinism, objectivism, and twisted version of Christianity known as Liberation theology. Hegel and his students, Henri St Simon, Kant, Marx & Engels, Feuerbach, Bauer, George B Shaw and and countless others. Used this doctrine as the basis for their Theocracies.
These occupy people are being driven by Zealot Stoic-Sophists (your president included). In other words they are treasonous acts of sedition against the United States of America and abdicate its destruction. Posted on November 12, 2011 at 7:20amIts amusing to watch the Stoic-Sophists achieve the prophecies of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Just as he exclaimed in Mark 13, these are so doing in the streets of the cities of the United States and in other countries.
Christ warned to look for troubles, the actual Greek word used in the new testament is Stoing’s word 5016 = tarache and it means disturbance i.e. of water rolling, or of a mob, sedition. its from Greek word 5015 = tarasso which means to stir or agitate.
This is simply part of the prophecies which Christ gave that are occurring around the world just as he proclaimed they would. The stake in the sand is defined in Jeremiah 24 and it relates to Christ’s identification of the generation of the fig tree (Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke21), which he stated “LEARN IT”. All of the prophecies of this generation are now coming true.
1) The Megas Sizemos as defined by Luke – Mega Earthquakes, Mark and Matthew define them as earthquakes
2) The nations against nations or in the Greek Ethnos against Ethnos -Ethnic groups fighting against Ethnic groups = Blacks vs Caucasians – Muslims vs Christians and Jews, etc….
3) Kingdoms vs Kingdoms (this is what we call nations today), Islam against the State of Israel, Russia against the United States etc…
4) Famine = The famine of the end times is explained in Amos 8:11, its the famine for hearing the words of the Lord God of Israel. they teach instead Stoic-Sophist Liberation Theology
5) Troubles-above

Step Four: Sow unrest.
Step Five: Provoke an election crisis. You wait for an election and during the election, you cry voter fraud.
Step Six: Take power. You stage massive demonstrations, civil disobedience, sit-ins, general strikes and you encourage activism. You promote voter fraud and tell followers what to do through your radio and television stations. Incitement and violence are conducted at this stage.
Step Seven: Outlast your opponent.

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 7:50amIts prophecy as defined in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. Its an identification of where we are in the final events of this earth age.
The final generation, “the generation of the fig tree” was identified by Christ in those same three verses, and it reverts back to the prophecy of Jeremiah 24. That prophecy came to pass in Novemeber of 1947 when the two state solution was adopted by the league of nations. Judah was then placed back into the land of Israel …by our Fathers hand. Most people missed this. This is the final generation and it can be dated from ether Nov 1947 or May 1948 (5 mo apart) at the end of the second passover. That generation is now 63 to 64 years old (47-48 vs 2011). biblical generations are defined as 70, 80 and 120 years. You do the math.

Word by word and action by action, all predictable. It just blows my mind as I watch it unfold, and when I look around me no one else seems to notice, it is like being in a bad movie of the week. I was fortunate enough in my younger days to have a year end report assigned to me on Communism and Propaganda, this was when they really taught school, (telling my age now, lol) . This had such as impact on me as a 6th grader and my interest has never gone away. What made the hair raise on the back of my neck was Candidate Obama and his sing song messages, his scanning the crowds for effect, and the mindless people packed in chanting over and over the same messages. That was sooo creepy, and I thought then the people will never elect him, this is so obvious and strange, just not right, someone else has to see it right? Mama taught me the best life lesson ever, “Dont’ believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see.” It took me a lot of years to really understand what she meant, they were wise, wise words. I have passed them down to my chldren and grandchildren with the explaination and an additional, “Talk is Cheap”.

I say that nobody hates war more than the service men and women who are brave enough to stand up and do the job necessary. There are evil people in the world who do extraordinary evil deeds. Somebody has to be willing to stop them. To those who say nothing good comes from violence I say, slavery ended in the country through a massive act of violence, Hitler’s attempted conquest of the world as we know it, and his attempt to wipe the Jewish people from the face of the planet was stopped by acts of violence. I could go on naming the good that has come from other acts of violence but it would be redundant. Remember Edmund Burke’s “When Good Men Do Nothing.”

My father sat many a night with his dying brother back in the late ’50s. His major ailment was a heart disease, but he also had TB. In the early ’90s my father contracted a severe case of pneumonia and while in a weakened state the TB bug took over. Posted on November 12, 2011 at 6:36amI’m sorry but any veteran who shows up at an Occupy event in support (and not to find out what the idiots are doing now) is a traitor. If you don’t agree with government, you petition and you vote those who are guilty out. It’s not the banks, it’s the law makers that forced the banks to give shakey loans. It’s the fat cats in congress who wanted their base to vote them in the next year, so they bribe them with freebies and easily gotten items. I was told (right before the housing bubble burst) when I was looking for a house that I could afford much more than I thought I could afford. I didn’t jump for joy and get that bigger house in the better neighborhood. I used the figures I knew I could pay. I took my husband’s check on 32 hours instead of 40, figured all my bills and what I could afford (escrow included) to pay each month. We’ve been paying 2 mortgages since then (yes, that’s 3 years) and still managed to survive my husband being OUT OF work for 2 months. If we had gotten that bigger house, we’d be in foreclosure. But I guess veteran doesn’t equate to educated.
