Has the “Occupy” movement’s “artistic expressions” gone too far?

A self-proclaimed international graffiti artist dubbed “Above,” added an effigy — clad in what is presumably meant to represent the suit-and-tie dress of a Wall Street investment-type — to his portfolio. What’s more, the effigy is dangling from telephone wire off a stretch of the 1-95 interstate in Miami.

The mannequin was hung near a mural also created by “Above” that reads: “Give a Wall St banker enough rope and he will hang himself.” The line was taken from a quote attributed to the father of modern Communism, Karl Marx: “If you give a capitalist enough rope, eventually he will hang himself.”

The Daily Mail adds:

‘I tried to clothe him and dress him up as if he was what I imiagined a Wall Street banker might wear,’ Above said to MailOnline.

He is also holding a briefcase that has a string of what looks like dollar bills.

‘It was the cherry on the top of the word play installation,’ Above continued.

‘It’s extremely shocking which is part of the point as well. I think it is really gone too far, but then again I think it’s my retaliation to how far Wall St, has gotten in general.

‘It is shocking to me when I look at these numbers when I see that one per cent of the people have all of the money,’ he continued.

With repeated calls for protesters to remain nonviolent, is “art” like this a good way to inspire peaceful protest?

    The BIG GOV. IS EXEMPT FROM THEIR PROTESTS. But BIG GOV. gave trillions to their CRONY CAPITALIST FRIENDS. Most of this was done under ODUMBO INC, BUT IT WAS STARTED BY BUSHY AND HIS LIBERALS. But these morons pretend the BANKS ARE ARE RESPONSIBLE. They will never hold THE DUMMYCRAPS RESPOSIBLE. REMEMBER: SOLYNDRA, GM, GE, DUMMYCRAP FRIENDS OF WALL ST., THE GREEN INDUSTRY, FANNIE, FREDDIE, MORTGAGES FOR THOSE ON WELFARE, MORTGAGES FOR THE LIBERAL ELITE TO BUY MILLION-DOLLAR PROPERTIES. All of it belongs TO THE DUMMYCRAPS.

    They call this art ! There are moments in life where you look and what you see is not to your liking so you turn and walk away. The other morning I got up and as I poured my first cup of coffee, I opened the blinds to look out on a beautiful new day when what did I see ? Two dogs doing it in the middle of the street ! I turned and walked away ! This reminds of that moment !

    We need them to show the rest of the country who they really are. We need the new media to out these animals. We need to show just how far the msm has moved away from the principals our founders through divine providence created and who’ side their really on. We need to show those who still hold out for the hope and change they bought into was a lie told by a liar backed by liars. We need to expose the msm of how and why they cover up these incidents and the violence these so called 99%’s embrace. The American public isn’t that stupid. Independents are moving away from these people. We must keep the truth in the forefront and not let them control the narrative with propaganda filled with smoke and mirror half truths mixed with bleeding heart false Utopian fantasies.

      Very true, and these groups claim to be peaceful while the Tea Party is supposedly violent and full of hate and race baiting? The fact they advocate such messages as hanging is just the Progressives way of pushing the envelope of the tolerance of the protesters; soon enough there will be real blood shed by the usage of firearms and maybe such mob hangings as well.

      The way it looks, he has two wires crossed, so I‘m surprised he didn’t short a circuit and blow a couple hundred thousand worth of transformers somewhere down the line.

      Cooking himself would have been an ironic end to this variation on street ‘art’, though.

      REVISION:

      On second examination, the upper cable is shielded, but the lower one is not. He wouldn’t short the circuit in that way, but with the lower cable being exposed he got helluva lucky he didn’t ground through himself.
