Odd New Paladino TV Ad Pays Lurid Homage: ‘Andrew’s Prowess Is Legendary’

In some ways it’s a shame that the election is less than a month away. Who knows how many strange turns the race for governor in New York could take given some time? This morning the Republican candidate, Carl Paladino, announced he would be airing a special video message. He sure did.
In the message, Paladino opens by discussing the confrontation he got into with New York Post writer Fred Dicker, saying he “got angry” because the Post sent a photographer to take pictures of the daughter he had in an extramarital affair.
“For weeks, the media has badgered me about affairs, because unlike a career politician, I was honest enough to acknowledge she was my daughter,” he says, before ticking off some of the questions he said he had been asked.
“Does the media ask Andrew such questions?” Paladino continues, referring to his opponent, Democratic attorney general Andrew Cuomo. He adds: “Andrew’s prowess is legendary.”
Paladino has raised claims of extramarital affairs on Cuomo’s part before, though he has not provided any proof to support the allegations.
New York Magazine says the “prowess” statement has to be “One of the most memorable lines of the 2010 election season.”

Posted on October 8, 2010 at 2:06pmThis is totally believable and if I lived or worked in NY, I would vote for all that stuff he just said. Who wouldn’t??? I mean we are way past the stage for political B.S. We need real leaders. Not perfect men, but men who will take up the challenges and ‘GET-ER-DONE’.
This guy seems like just that sort of man. No bull crap. Just business.

I’m NOT a Romney supporter although a Mormon like he is BUT his moral life is exemplarary. Palladino betterr NOT have any more sletetons in his closet. Is sexual morality gone in America?

Posted on October 8, 2010 at 11:41amHe comes off as an honest man, except he’s gotten this far in the campaign which kinda nullifies that. I think he would be better for the state than Cuomo as he would get rid of all the current political hacks that have been embedded there for the past,,,,,,, forever. But New york is a cauldron of corruption and it will take more than one person to fix the problem. He would need to take on the Unions of New York as Christie is doing in New Jersey, but that would literally shut down the city for weeks if not months, no garbage collection, no transit, no doormen, no cops, firemen or teachers. I wish him luck, but I don’t see it happening, New York Unions want the Prodigal Son to assume the throne and increase their hold over the golden goose.

Chris Christie is the best thing that’s happened in our state and if that can happen here, it’s not unbelievable to think it could happen in New York. You GO SCGuitar. Do what’s in your heart. Posted on October 8, 2010 at 9:23amPaladino took the time to visit our little town in western NY. I was impressed with his heart and his intestinal fortitude. If the people of NY would have courage and vote against the established career pols in Albany it would be a start. We need to flip the house in the NYS legislature. Nothing could be as bad as it is now. We are taxed to the max. Business and industry have flown the coop. The counties are stuck paying for unfunded federal mandates. We are held hostage by the unions. The list goes on and on. My children and many other’s have left the state. NY is a nice place to visit but you wouldn’t want to live here!

Posted on October 8, 2010 at 8:41amGreat ad but he needs to remind the people that Cuomo and Gillibrand wrote the regs for the Community Reinvestment act which effectively forced banks to grant mortgages to those who did not qualify thus aiding and abetting and actually creating this housing collapse. The liberal down state liberals won’t care but the rest of the state will.

Posted on October 8, 2010 at 3:22amThe beginning of the ad is a really strong. The part about reporters not grilling Cuomo comes off sleazy. He seems to be implying that the guy has something to hide in his eprsonal life without having the guits to come out and say so. the part about debating the minor party candidates would be stronger if he hadn’t said in his previous ads that he and Cuomo were the “only two serious candidates.”

Posted on October 8, 2010 at 1:22amMy issue is with Cuomo, an experienced career politician, in that he will not debate Paladino. I heard Paladino on the radio (I believe it was the Kudlow Report) & he was very pointed, & highly articulate, in the steps he would take to improve NY’s horrendous financial deficit. I think Cuomo’s avoiding the debate because I believe that Paladino, if he were as articulate as he was during the radio interview, would pick up some voters. So, naturally, Cuomo not debating is a tactical ploy. To me, it just makes Cuomo look like a coward.

Posted on October 8, 2010 at 3:40amscguitar – On the other hand you could end up being the hero! You might be surprised just how many eyes you could open if you organized the campain for tea party revolution. Because you can relate what you have found through issuing a paper of giving a courtyard speech after class. You could be the next new york candidate for your ditract, you never know. But the one thing that you can take from this story is to remember there is a feirce adversary out there against you. Remember your principals and stick to them (40days 40nights style) As long as you don’t make it personal with your audience your there to save them from themselves, help them to see the truth, remind them of their heritage and acestrial heritage and the responsibility that was to be passed to them, but they stand to loose the most precious posession ever to be bestowed through enheritance.
I believe in you! Every great event makes great citizens and this truly is the second revolution. It was predicted by our forfathers, they knew this day would come, Stand up and be a hero or slink into the shadows of oblivion. It is every citizens choice, we truly make our own destiny, it is the path that you choose that determines your destination. Be the hero! Be a leader not a follower! Leaders are born of example through action. Live the role the title will follow.

The smart money was to not buck the system. The good money was on a rag tag group that saw Freedom and Liberty to be more important than life itself. It turned out pretty good.
NEVER let it be said that a race cannot be won. That is why we play the game and don’t let pundits decide. SC – get off your ass and get in the game. Help organize and remember ……. Career politicians need to go. It was never meant to be this way. Too much power always corrupts, and these lifelong politicians have so much power. In the beginning these guys and girls were basically volunteers, although we did pay their expenses. Do you think there is any way that we can take money out of the formula?
