O‘Donnell ’99 Admission: ‘I Dabbled Into Witchcraft’

You knew it was going to go this way. Everyday we‘re going to be blessed with a new video clip of Christine O’Donnell saying something wild back when. But even with the expectation, this one is certainly something of a Saturday surprise! Witchcraft?
Many of the clips we’ve seen, are seeing and will be seeing soon I’m sure, come from her 22 appearances on the ABC program “Politically Incorrect.”
While she makes it clear that she “never joined a coven,“ she admits that she ”dabbled,” dated a witch, and even “went on a midnight date involving blood on an altar.”
“We went to a movie and had a little midnight picnic.”
A friend asks — was this more a case of hanging out with weirdos than actual dabbling in witchcraft?
Now as Sinatra might say — I’ve got no defense for it! Or I’m just bothered and bewildered. But the truth is O’Donnell has been pretty open about her path in life on the religious convictions front. She told the Fox station in Philadelphia, “I assure you, my faith has matured.”
We all know that the “Politically Incorrect” host Bill Maher has gone on to host his own show on HBO. And he‘s now vowing to keep showing additional clips until O’Donnell agrees to appear on “Real Time:”
“I’m just saying, Christine, it’s like a hostage crisis,” he said, “every week you don’t show up, I’m going to throw another body out.”
Think Progress does point out that Maher seems to be doing this good-naturedly:
Last night, Real Time aired its first show of the current season. Maher began by mocking O’Donnell, calling her “an uemployed, anti-masturbation activist and a close friend of mine.” “I created her,” Maher told the audience, turning to the camera and stating, “You owe me Christine O’Donnell.” Maher said that he has great fondness for O’Donnell, adding, “She does not have a mean bone in her body, or any other bone in her body.”
The Washington Post notes:
In other O’Donnell news that may or may not be related, Bob Schieffer tweeted on Saturday that the candidate has pulled out of a scheduled appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday. She is still scheduled to appear on “Fox News Sunday” at 9 a.m. ET.

Posted on September 18, 2010 at 11:58amWhat does a lame story that O’Donnell told 11 years ago have to do with fixing unemployment or out-of-control spending today?
We live in the age of YouTube – and those clips can be dug out of the closet on any of us – A smear campaign based on goofy statements from 11 years ago shows how scared the left is of this woman’s chances of winning.

Posted on September 18, 2010 at 11:52amWill Chris Coons’ dabbling with Marxism in Africa during his college years similarly be examined? I know that concept gives me goosebumps. Since nothing else seems to work to fight those who feel entitled to the position in Congress, let’s try a little 21st Century witchcraft and vote them out. I read that 2/3 of the Republicans in Delaware didn’t vote in the primary. What’s it going to take to get them to vote in November?

Posted on September 18, 2010 at 1:33pmWhat would happen if she followed Islam for a time? The are both vaild religions, also the US recognizes tax exempt status for Wiccan covens just as they would do for a church or a mosque. So isn’t this a case of the left being dare I say intolerant? Big shocker there, the ironic thing is most Wiccans are liberal. They support the same exact people who would want to take away their rights to practice their religion, which is why I no longer belong to a coven.

Posted on September 18, 2010 at 11:46amYes Christine dabbled in witchcraft. I truely doubt that dabbled is the correct word but enough said. Mahr dabbles in drugs, Christine found out that witchcraft is not for her. Mahr and all his ilk still haven’t learned that drugs are not for him. Look at him he is a sad, lonely poor excuse for a human being. His whole life is devoted to poking fun at people who do not agree with his so called beliefs., which makes one wonder if his beliefs come from him or from the drugs he takes to subside the feelings of lonliness he has. Maybe if he put the drugs away he might find a world he can actually be happy in. Maybe (god forbid) he would even find something to actually believe in, ( maybe God) .

She’s a human being and has a God-given right to explore her environment and express herself – no matter her age. She certainly isn’t hosting Wicca events in the WH… yet, our dear Mr. President hosted a Ramdan dinner telling a room full of Muslims that he wants a mosque at Ground Zero (where there’s still blood on THAT alter).

Posted on September 18, 2010 at 11:38amOK. This is something I know something about. 1) “witch’ does not = satanic. If she was “standing on a satanic altar” she wasn’t with anyone practicing Wicca. 2) One wouldn’t join a coven. It isn’t youtube. You don’t just register and create a password. She would have to have shown at least enough sincere interest, talent and ABILITY to be invited to study Wicca with practitioners. 3) lots of people buy books, perform a couple of rituals they find written down and call themselves Wiccans or Witches. If you only knew how “not so” that is…..I don’t know what she dabbled in, but it wasn’t “Witchcraft.” These were young people playing with things they didn’t understand and should stay away from unless and until they do. Remember the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice?” It goes on all the time all over the world. have you ever read or seen “The Crucible?” Kids play with Ouija boards and dabble in the occult. It has always been so. This, too, shall pass. Or, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. An’ it harm none, do as ye will…

As an avowed Pagan, who is a “witch” Paganism is not necessarily Wicca or witchcraft. Paganism is all religions that are not Judaism, Islam or Christianity… It covers a LOT of religious beliefs the world over.
In American, we have this thing we call… freedom to worship God according to the dictates of your own heart… This right is sacred. There is even an amendment to the constitution which prohibits the government from creating a state religion… Wow, who knew!
At least in Paganism we have one overriding value and rule: Do as you will, but harm none.
Imagine what the world would be like if Islam and Christianity followed that value.
Do as you will, but harm none…
The tea party is filled with people like me… Pissed as hell at OUT OF CONTROL GOVERNMENT; however, many are socially liberal on religious values…
I won’t harm you, if you don’t harm me. DO NOT TREAD ON ME; LEAST I STRIKE YOU WITH VENGEANCE
We MUST get control of this government however, or it will crush us all beyond dead… we’ll all be greatly harmed!

I myself am an aethist (yes, a conservative atheist!). I did not become one overnight and I, too, did my homework…I just did not find the answers that so many others have. I have malice towards none and belive in Freedom OF religion, not Freedom FROM Religion. I do not espouse others give up their religion, but I also do not want theirs foisted upon me.

There is a lot of confusion in the understanding of “occult” practices and young people get confused and experiment. Silly to make a lot of hay out of a young persons cultural experiences. I find my belief system to be even more demanding than many of my christian friends find theirs, they often poke fun at me for it. Wicca has many different facets. There are the dark wiccans, light wiccans, Angelic Wiccans and so many many more.
I see no problem with LEARNING about a religion or faith before you decide it is not for you. I was not raised in ANY religion . My parents gave me a choice on how to worship. I learned about the Jewish religion, Islam, Catholisism, Southern Baptist, which is different from First Baptist, I learned about Atheism and agnostics, I learned about pentecostal and Mormonism and Jahovah’s Witness.
Personally, I commend Odonnel for making the effort to LEARN about the religion and faith systems so she could make an informed decision on what best fits her.
For a while I considered myself an Angelic Wiccan. They believe is the power of the (what goes around comes around… except 3 times worse… so dont do it) the meditation was intense and so good for the soul. They believe in the same Angels that Catholics do. It still freaks people out when I tell them that I do not believe in God…I KNOW he is there. Beliefs can be changed on a dime… knowledge needs to be PROVEN wrong. so I KNOW that God and his angels exist.
Lets not forget that many still believe that Native Americans are witches because they dont worship a single God… which is rediculous.
The Dems are getting desperate and it is beginning to show. What is next? She failed PE in 1st grade? COME ON… gonna have to come up with something better than that.

He has admitted it himself in so many different interviews to this day. try actually finding the truth as it is, not the truth that fits your opinions. I know it’s hard, taxing work sometimes and people are tired after a long day’s work but the truth is out there if you take the time to find it, weigh it against other stories from ‘reputable’ sources, and draw common sense conclusions based on your willingness to not accept just any headline as truth.

Posted on September 18, 2010 at 11:43amI saw the vaporub video and don’t really care. – and now back to the subject of the post.
I get what O’Donnell was trying to say even though she was unable to complete the thought as the rest of the panel constantly interrupted her.
One really doesn’t know how bad (or good) a belief set truly is from the outside. By “dabbling” in it she was able to see it for what it was. What she found was that the “witchcraft” she studied was not driven by good intentions.
BM and the other Nimrods laugh at it because they would rather let there prejudice of witchcraft being “just another set of fairy tales” (as BM likes to describe all systems of faith) and dismiss it rather then consider it worth any amount of actual study.
BM is a card carrying member of the Cult of Science and the irony is that this cult requires as much if not more faith then the God centric ones. One big difference being that it requires faith in Man’s basis for “scientific facts” that the Global Warming Hoax has shown to be undeserving of such faith.
As for BM cherry picking clips of her to show every day in an attempt to put her in a bad light until she agrees to come on his show, I believe that is called extortion. Even if she shows up BM won’t stop showing clips that put her in a bad light because he has no Honor.

Posted on September 18, 2010 at 12:39pmIt’s really not that funny, it’s more insane than anything else that liberals are so enlightened yet they have no appreciation for exploring and discovering the world in witch they live, I mean, in which they live.
Bill Maher is himself an observable specimen in witch we can look at to showcase explorations and new discoveries of how liberal shortsightedness masquerades as the end all of inteligencia . . It’s made easy to see that all that Bill Maher does not understand, as in such things as personal inner development and the maturing process, of moving the self upward away from self centeredness and away from liberalism, he declares to be right wing witchcraft . . . But, “stay tuned,” he says . . . there will be more. “Each and every day another body will be thrown out.”
It sounds like Bill Maher engages in something much more sinister than witchcraft or the thought of witchcraft . . . He’s in love with himself . . . a pure indication that narcissism has put a spell on his soul, and all that he does, all that he says.

There are more of us out there then you will ever suspect. A lot of “witches” are in the medical field and other upstanding fields and not all of us play dungeons and dragons or look like freaks. What you call your god does not change the way you heart is inside.
I would dare say that I am more Christ like then most Christians. I am kinda scared by the hardcore Christians wanting to jack the right, I just found my voice in the party. Even though the teachings they were talking about in that episode I agree with I get scared of the persecution. I really hope the christian right does not jack our party again, with the tea party we were able to get it back.
Did you know that most witches are pro-life (to the degree of a case rape and incest being acceptable times)
Are leery of the medical establishment, vaccines and synthetic medication. Nature/god provides a lot of valuable stuff.
Have hardcore family values and cherish the traditional roles of men and women. Family values and childhood innocence are very important.
Taking a life is wrong unless to defend your own. Giving thanks to our creator and treating our livestock with respect.
Honoring the great spirit and protecting the earth.
Being able to make a life for yourself without the government taking it from you to feed the weak. So yeah with us the meek do not inherit the earth.
Monogamy being the highest state you can achieve.
And remember our motto is “An do no harm and do what you will” That is harsher then the 10 commandments. Not only physical, but mental harm.
Keep an open heart and an open mind. As not to alienate allies. There is some evil in charge and the world wants to shake us off, we got some work to do. (in Christian speak- Obama is the Antichrist and revelation is coming)

You obviously don’t know the difference between a PHOTO SHOOT and a jar or spoiled mayonaise. You are a progressive socialist fascist stupid person.

Posted on September 18, 2010 at 11:29pmCan‘t hit Glenn on the issues so they try to make something of a Photoshoot where Beck’s making fun of himself. Pretty lame. And the video/title is completely illogical. If he could bring tears on command, he wouldn’t need the vicks, dumbass.

Posted on September 19, 2010 at 1:01amOh My Gosh…. just watched the YouTube video of Glenn Becks’ photo shoot.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME??? Are people seriously comparing this to his crying on tv whe he’s speaking about a real issue?
He’s supposedly exposed as a fake (AND A TRAITOR???????) because of this photo shoot?
What the heck? People are really stupid and are digging for ANYTHING.

Posted on September 19, 2010 at 8:58amThis video doesn’t really look too good for her, but as previously said it was quite some time ago and who knows what was going on at the time. Maybe she was trying to be funny on Mr. Bowel Movement, or BM, show at the time. Who cares, I still believe she would be a better choice then the other two candidates.

Posted on September 19, 2010 at 10:57amI find it slightly disturbing in the context of the time it was said and only because I have daughters whom I hope NEVER dabble in any forms of witchcraft. The truth of the seductive power of the adversary is quite real, not eveyone is so lucky to move on from an innocent exploration to find the truth as it really is. God bless Christine for being able to rise above the lies and deceit that the ‘father of all lies’ constantly attacks us with at an early age. This just illustrates her foundation of faith is strong and unchanged after so many years and a testament of her character in the ‘here and now’.

Posted on September 20, 2010 at 1:30amThe video of her nearly BOASTING of her involvement in witchcraft is beyond disturbing. This is something most Americans find horrifying. The issue isn’t merely that she 1) dabbled in witchcraft, but also that she 2) boasted of it on the show, and that 3) her response on Sunday was without apology, or embarrassment, or explanation. “Who-didn’t-hang-out-with-questionable-people-in-high-school” is just not an appropriate response to something of this magnititude.
She is no longer a viable candidate. I expect she will step down. Even if it means this seat is lost to the GOP, we should expect her to do the right thing.
