O’Donnell Says GOP Establishment Is Not Helping Her

(AP) — Republican Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell of Delaware is calling out the Republican establishment in Washington for not helping her underdog campaign.

In an interview on ABC’s “This Week” that aired Sunday, the tea party favorite said she has asked the National Republican Senatorial Committee for help but that the group is standing on the sidelines even though her Democratic rival, Chris Coons, is getting a boost from his party.

A spokesman for the Republican committee, Brian Walsh, has noted that the group gave O’Donnell the maximum direct contribution of $42,000 and is working with her campaign.

The committee is not spending heavily on ads as it is in closer races elsewhere. Polls show Coons with a strong lead.

Think that we are seeing the same situation in Alaska with Joe Miller battling Lisa Moreofthesamski. He won the primary against Lisa but she has opted to run as an I (Incumbent) ’cause her feelings were hurt or something. So far as I know the NRSC has contributed virtually nothing to the Miller Campaign. Credible sources tell me that although the national committee has representatives in Alaska, they are largely for show.
IMO the establishment GOP is as anxious as the Progressives to deal the tea party and all of its manifestations a significant defeat.

The Republicans are a joke, this is the very reason why I’m not a big fan of the Repubs right now. All they care about is the status quo and getting people elected we need real canadites like Christine O’Donnell who will fight for the people instead of what their stupid party tells them too. When she wins in Nov the joke will be on the Republicans. Mike Castle an automatic win, if he would have won he would have pulled an Arlen Specter and switched parties if the Dems rubbed him the right way.

For the life of me, I can‘t understand these guys’ behavior on this. They know they’ve got a real problem with the base, as I‘m sure every day they get thousands of people like me telling them they’ve already sent their money to their own favorite candidates directly. It would have actually been an excellent opportunity for them to improve their image and renew confidence in them had they swallowed their arrogant pride and come out full force for Christine — regardless of her flaws which pale in comparison to so, so many other political candidates. It’s not just any race, it’s gone high profile.

And it may even have make the difference necessary for a victory. There’s plenty of folks who follow the establishment herd and take their cues from these guys. Wow, if Karl Rove is so against her, I probably should be too. It‘s reminiscent of the last election when so many supposedly smart and savvy and snobby conservative pundits and columnists just couldn’t find it within themselves to support their own party’s choice for VP, and decided it was better to back a redistributionist. Those folks are now dead in the base’s eyes, and the national GOP is heading in the same direction.

Is this any way to run a party? What are these people thinking, or are they just feeling?

MR.CRUISEMATES to answer you Q the GOP doesn’t run this show. The voters do. It not the people that voted for a Tea Party candidate job to fall in line with the GOP. The GOP will come closer to the people that support the Tea Party or the GOP will sit this one out and he one after this and so on. This isn’t a sport. People are sick of “the Team”. We will vote for the person and if that means 50 years of split ticks and no wins for the GOP so be it. They will either 1 come over to this side or 2 just write off any chance of winning the places. Period

Many of us fear that this fighting, instead of coming together, is going to continue right on through the 2nd inauguration of moron in chief. No matter how strong a point one or the other makes of it – Republicans can‘t do it without the tea partiers and tea partiers can’t do it without the Republicans and I think it is a safe bet to say the tea partiers aren’t going to make it with the help of the demorats!!!! This is a re-post until after the election:
I received this in an email and thought it was worth posting as a reminder of what and when things happened….. please cut and paste if you agree

    Remember January 3, 2007

…… I don‘t understand WHY the people running for office don’t say this in their ads!!!

The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 it was actually January 3, 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress.

The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this:

January 3, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
    At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

    The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

    Remember the day.

January 3, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

    BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Thank Congress for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment to this CRISIS by dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco’s!

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001, because it was financially risky for the U.S. economy, but no one was listening).

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA.

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie??? OBAMA and the Democratic Congress.

So when someone tries to blame Bush…
REMEMBER JANUARY 3, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!”

Bush may have been in the car, but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving. Set the record straight on Bush!

So, as you listen to all the commercials and media from the Democrats who are now distancing themselves from their voting record and their party, remember how they didn‘t listen to you when you said you didn’t want all the bailouts, you didn’t want the health care bill, you didn’t want cap and trade, you didn‘t want them to continue spending money we don’t have.

I’m not forgetting their complicity in getting us into this mess, and I’ll be marking my vote accordingly!

They have outlawed the light bulb while eliminating jobs in America for a very hazardous more expensive light bulb made in china, they have raised the minimum wage making the teenage workforce the most unemployed, they have forced my premiums to go up with Obamacare, they have given my grandkids a bill of 44,000 before they were ever born and for what, to study turtle habits, or by giving a voter fraud group millions to steal my vote? Enough of the same old crappy career politician. I want business owners, doctors, citizen statesmen and women to stand up and say I will not vote for these ridiculous things when I get to Washington. I can’t believe he won, I refused to vote for him 2 years ago, I didnt want a Republican to win with his Rhino values, & have Republicans everywhere thinking thats how you win, by being a Rhino & a darling to Libs. Apparently tens of millions of people felt the same way. Get this country back to the constitution, or throw them overboard, & get someone else. I”m from Mass, & I was grudgingly with Romney as a 2nd choice, for his Pro-business stance, tolerated his social views, until we got Mass Health that he signed, rather than veto. Overboard for him too. It would be a tragic end to the tea party if we nominated him for 2012. Somehow, I dont think that will happen.

I agree. I have more respect for democrats than RINO’s. With a democrat, you know you’re getting a collectivist, but a RINO tells you what a good conservative they are and then goes and votes with the Marxists anyway. No more free passes for RINO’s, period. Let Coons win if that’s what it takes.

If the Republican is a RINO, the Libertarian or Constitution Party candidate gets the vote. Are you listening, RNC? You may say that a vote for a third party candidate is throwing my vote away, but so is voting for a RINO. Why give the Marxists the ability to say their unconstitutional garbage was passed with bipartisan effort? It’s time for the GOP to take out the trash.

Don’t you get it, Tea Party? You insisted on electing a non-winner in a state where the Republicans had a sure thing. I’m sorry, but you have to be more realistic. Coons is a very smart and formidable contender and O’Donnell is a nobody. There was a Republican in the primary who outpolled Coons and had never lost in DE, and you picked O’Donnell instead. And you want the RNC to bow to you?

The RNC is sending YOU a message. You have the right to elect alternatives to RINOS – but NOT when it means losing an election that otherwise would have been a sure thing. I am just relieved Angle is going to win, or I would have been really upset.

If you want O’Donnell to win then YOU send her YOUR money. I already did, and I wouldn’t have voted for her in the primary. Put YOUR money where YOUR mouth is and quit bellyaching about other people doing what you want – you sound like democrats.

Since I **did** donate to Christine O‘Donnell’s campaign, Cruismates injunction that I put my money where my mouth is is a bit ridiculous–as if he had inside knowledge into the goings-on of my bank account. In terms of who I have a “right” to vote for, I have a right to vote for whoever I want, and receive instructions from nobody but my own conscience on that score. It is Republican voters who decide who stands for them in the general election, and nobody else. Oh, and by the way. My original post wasn’t a bellyache; it was a call to arms. (That’s a metaphor, for those of you in Rio Linda and trollville.)

If you give on your values just to vote for someone who has a better shot at beating the Dem’s, than might as well lose anyways. The Tea Pary and many americans are sending a message to the RNC. Besides those polls are not correct. If they were, why would Obama himself be taking time to go and campaign there for Coons? This race is much closer than people know.

Castle was as democrat as coons is. Just because he had an R in front of him doesn’t mean he is a conservative. That is the same as BUSH, CHENEY, and most of the ********* in congress. We haven’t had a strong conservative since Calvin Coolidge. Reagan was good, even he had some week spots. We are sick that are money is getting spent to teach men in africa how to properly clean themselves, or that we have to save some insect in timbuktoo because its going instinct. I would rather keep my money and give it to the bum on the street. But I can’t because I get butt raped every year from the government who is suppose to not let that happen. They are suppose to protect us. Unless its our fault that we got hurt, or we put in our money in a ponzi scheme and got scammed twice.

Don’t you get it Republicans spend less, get back to principles, and repeal all of this year’s crap or you are gone. whether it is in this election or the next. By the way, I have always voted Republican. Now, I will vote my conscience. It is back to the Constitution or you are gone. Understand?

      To cruisemates,

You sound as if the only thing that matters to you is winning. If I lived in her state I would have voted for her in the primary and done so proudly. Voting out the RINO was a plus on our side whether she wins or not.

RINO’s have been destroying the GOP party (and the American dream) for far too long, and now its house-cleaning time. Christine has already done this country a huge favor.

Sorry Republicans, but this 49 yr old, life long member is done. I will never send you another penny. I will only directly support the most conservative candidates. We should toss both Mike Castle and Lisa Murkowski out of the party, good riddance! Mr Steele, there is a reckoning coming and you need to decide which side you’re on.

What makes you think that voting in a rhino that is going to vote lockstep with the liberals is going to be good for the GOP or the nation. The GOP has been high-jacked by progressives and professional politicians, who only take care of themselves. As a tea partier I’ll send you a message, we will not form a new party, we will however crush the liberal arm of the GOP if they are not willing to get back to conservatism and support the Constitution of the United States. It’s their choice!

Ahem…Cruisemates; allow me to explain: if the GOP gives me progressives, like Mary Fallin in Oklahoma, then the GOP does NOT want my vote in the general election. No more progressives means no more progressives, it does not mean no more progressives unless the democrat is worse.
So, if the GOP doesn’t like, fine, they say “it’s like voting for the democrat,”….yeah sure, whatever.
You sorry GOP constitution fearing, progressive loving, sad excuse for pinko commies can LOSE. No more progressives. If that means the democrat wins, fine. I’ll fight civil war to keep my freedom before I vote for another progressive for any reason.

The GOP Establishment is making a major mistake in not fully supporting the candidate chosen by the people of Delaware. It is their right to chose ANY person they want to represent them. For the GOP to attack that candidate like they did and then withhold support is a act of war on the people. And this is a war they will lose. We will not be enslaved by Progressive Democrats and we sure as hell will not allow the RINO establishment to become our slave masters.

If they do not get fully behind the peoples candidate then after this election cycle we will just have to clean our own house and toss the RINO’s to the curb. This is a party that belongs to the people and not the chosen few. We are Conservative Republicans not Progressive Democrats.

They said they wouldn’t back her, and they’re not backing her. What’s the problem? I see this as a good thing. That seat was going to a progressive no matter what. Maybe by ‘12 the country will be sufficiently burnt out on the Obama/DemocRAT/Progressive agenda that we can make a sweep and start to undo the National Socialist damage.

Sorry cruismates, your argument might explain why the NRC would support Castle in the Primary, not why they would then fail to support Christine after she won the nomination, unless they want to lose in the general as away of punishing the Tea Party for not listening to them. What do they gain by withholding their support from their party’s nominee when she needs support in beating the Democrat? Isn’t it all about beating democrats? Or is it about something else for them? What could that be?

So true. If a republican wants to be a democrat, I would prefer the democrat win. Either you follow the tenants of smaller government, less spending, and more individual freedoms or get out of the Republican party. I would much rather have O’Donnel run and lose than have the “other guy” run and win as a republican. No more Democrat-Lites in the Repub party. Deleware will learn the hard way what happens when you vote for a Marxist.

I disagree with you Cruisemates; Christine O‘donnell isn’t a nobody, she is an everyday American like your or me; O’donnell is someone who should have the oppourtinity of serving our country politically if she so desires. Secondly the Tea Party is not for either the Democrats or the GOP, the Tea Party supports anyone who is properly vetted and wishes to do their duties through the constitution. Finally wake up to the fact that RINO is the republican equivalant to a progressive democrate, whose sole desire is to undermine the freedom granted to Americans through the constitution; so it will take more than money to help O’donnell, you will still need to VOTE for her.

So what it boils down to is the Gop wanted a candidate that they knew would vote the way THEY wanted rather than for what the people wanted. Even the GOP is scared to death of candidates that are not professional politicians and will not toe the party line. I sent $100 to her campaign. I hope it helps. We need fresh ideas and new people in Congress. Enough of the professional politicians.

It‘s hard to think that the RNC hasn’t figured out why they are not going up while the Dems are going down, Their is a reason ” WE DON’T TRUST THE RNC LEADERSHIP” and with them helping the Dem’s put her down shows their arrogance.
