‘Of Course I’m Not!‘ Michael Moore Adamantly Denies He’s Part of ‘The 1%’

No matter what you think of Michael Moore’s politics, you have to admit he’s successful. His films have been hits at the box office and staples in liberal households. In short, he’s been the beneficiary of capitalism and his bank account has grown because of it. But try to get him to admit that he’s part of the “1%” that the Occupy protesters are railing against and he’ll got all high-pitched while denying it.

He did so on CNN Tuesday night with Piers Morgan. Morgan tried his best to get Moore to admit it, but despite some good arguments, Moore wasn’t having any of it. Here’s part of the exchange:

Morgan: You’re in the one percent, right?

Moore: I’m not in the one percent, no. But I am–

Morgan: Probably .2 percent?

Moore: No, I am not.

Morgan: You’re one of the most successful film makers in the country.

Moore: No, I am not. For a documnetary film maker, I do very well.

Morgan: Well, now you’re splitting hairs.

Moore: There’s a big difference between a documentary and Avatar.

Morgan: I need you to admit the bleeding obvious. I need you to sit here and say, ‘I’m in the one percent.’

Moore: Well I can’t, because I’m not.

Morgan: You are though.

Moore: No, I’m not.

Morgan: You’re not in the one percent?

Moore: Of course I’m not! How can I be in the one percent?

Morgan: Because you’re worth millions.

Moore: No that’s not true. Listen, I do really well. I do well. But what’s the point, though?

Morgan: The point is because I find it more interesting if you’re in the one percent, because I think you probably are you qualify, that you are railing against a lot of capitalist ideals.

In short, Moore never really explained why he’s not in the one percent, and went on a tangent about why he’s trying to change the system and that the “corporations” that have paid him will regret it some day.

By the way, Moore is estimated to be worth $50 million, which would put him in the “1%.”

    If you support liberal causes, work in hollywood, or any show BIZ, or the news Biz, or are in the sports, or politics as a liberal no matter how rich you are, even spooky dude, you are not in the 1%
    and should not be attacted as so. Workers of the world unite!
    If you work hard, are a producer of goods and services, or have a small business, are a respondsible
    person in life, lean toward the tea party, or are conservative the you are part of the 1 %.
    Even if your weatlh is middle class, lets say $200,000 or even $40,000, or less when need be, then you are part of the 1%,you see it commie liberal rules, always changing to fit their needs.
    If you are God fearing Christan or Jew then you are part of the 1%
    If you are a unwashed liberal wall street prostester with student loads, no job, or very under employed for the degree you have and you disgree on a political point with a fellow liberal unwashed wall street prostester with student loans no job or under employed for the degree he or she has, and you get out shouted, out cursed then you are part of the 1 %.
    I think that is how it works.

      How much did Moore make off his latest book… which IS the REASON for all this publicity…
      I have friends who live near him and he lives quite well off of the capitalism he has enveloped himself in while shouting out the “poor side” of his mouth…

      While Moore one of the 1% .. who screams at and hates capitalism…

      says give me $25 dollars to see my movies and read my books…

      Moore actually thinks he’s currying favor from the global elite. Soon useful idiots like him will be given the order to appear to the council to give reason for their existence. He will obviously have none, since his entire purpose has been to ensure the elite rise to that power.

      The only question is. Will he be chemically exterminated, electrocuted, gassed, fried or simply fed to the lions and tigers and bears?

      I used to like this guy, but not any more. He talks out of both sides of his mouth, if it were not for capitalism he would not be rich at all. They would take his films and burn them. he said he answers to no one, well mr rockhead, the reason you can do that is because of capitalism. He is not very bright is he?

      You are right. The 1% is applied depending what side of the fence you are. Have nothing to do with money, but ideology. They are not protesting capitalism, they are protesting our way of living. They are mindless, they hate this country.

It’ll drive you nuts….Anyway Michael I like you for living the American CAPITALIST dream, I’m doing that as well, although I don’t have friends that I have to try and convince otherwise…..

      Providing “exposure” is literally the point. Admittedly, most of us here see Michael Moore for what he is. However, bringing his lies and hypocisy to the light of day gives us proof to share with others.

      Morgan, being British, is kind of pigeonholed into being “liberal”. There’s not a lot of room for real conservatism over there, and you can probably put every libertarian in Britain in a small 10 by 10 room and have plenty of extra space for a table full of refreshments. Unfortunately they also have a culture of “don’t question, sit quietly, do as you’re told”. Even their ‘radical’ folks only move when ordered to, and only do what they’re told.

      Where I’m going with this is that I think Morgan is more little “L” libertarian-ish than liberal, but he doesn’t realize it. The man believes in God, a huge thing for a Brit where anything except atheism or agnosticism is sneered at, and he consistently displays a set of personal standards that deviates from where he’s “supposed to be”. Personally I think one day he‘s going to realize he doesn’t have to keep pretending to be a Leftist. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but some day. Just a gut feeling about the guy, I could be wrong.

      Piers does have an old-fashioned sense of fairness, I’ll grant you that — but then again most Brits do. Even liberals retain a modicuum of the British sense of fair play. That‘s why the majority of them won’t protest against the monarchy.

    Michael is engaging in what the Muslim philosophy is regarding lying and misleading the “unbelievers” if lying furthers your own cause. Come to think of it, isn’t our federal government proposing to lie out in the open now as part of their policy?
    Hmmmmm – Could Muslim and Radical Islamist strategies like lying to the “unbelievers” if it furthers your cause be one of the beginnings here in America of establshing Sharia law? Kinda spooky, Michael.

      Not really. MM is really a simple case. He used some tear-jerking films to make $50M dollars telling people that they are poor because “the big, bad rich white man” is keeping them down. He doesn’t have any other story to tell. He doesn’t have enough intelligence to do any REAL investigative reporting…you know, where you actually find the root cause of problems. So that leaves him in the dilemma of being a “big, bad rich white man“ telling losers that their troubles are the result of their treatment from other ”big, bad rich white men”. He lying to keep his position of wealth and power like any coward would.
