Officials Say Anarchists Responsible for Italy Bombings

ROME (AP) — A top Italian official says purported anarchists who sent mail bombs to the embassies of Chile and Switzerland wanted to avenge blows by those countries against their movement.

Small packages exploded when they were opened, seriously wounding two people at the Rome embassies.

Alfredo Mantovano, undersecretary of the interior ministry which includes anti-terrorism police, says the Swiss were targeted because intensified Swiss-Italian cooperation led to the recent arrest of several anarchists. Mantovano also told Italian radio Friday the Chileans were targeted because last year an anarchist died in Chile.

Almost immediately after the twin blasts, Italy’s interior minister said anarchists were the likely bombers.

A written claim found at one of the embassies cited the name of a Greek anarchist killed in a shootout with police in Athens in March.

To blame cops for anarchists is about as ridiculous as it gets. And I’m tired, so tired, of having the right pinned with this. These little dinks run around with “fair trade” coffee, organic black hoodies and red ipods, all while screaming at the top of their weak little lungs about “evil capitalisim” and “facists”. All the while, not one of them has a problem with ol’ Hugo, and will jump at the chance to defend Saudi Arabia any chance they get. And as far as these new-school ” I’m not a conservative or libertarian, I’m a border-line anarchist” go: Guys, get over it. There is nothing wrong with infastructure. Just because you all look alike at work, it doesn’t mean you have to go off the deep end politically;)

Of course they are. Any person who disagrees with totalitarian government is an Anarchist. That very view point is being selectively used in our own country right now by the administration in case it becomes necessary to place blame for violence here. But we already know where the violence nearly always comes from: the left.

The beauty about being an ararchist is that no matter who is in power, you are against them. Since there are always violent insidious forces about that want power there is always work for anarchists.

Anarchists are the storm troopers of the progressive and revolutionary collectivists. I wince when I see Glenn try to fit them into an ideological matrix as more extreme libertarians. I don‘t believe that’s accurate. Ultimately they are collectivists. They just believe in going to the final stage of Marxism immediately – no “building socialism,“ no ”withering of the state,” just smash the state now and go immediately to utopian stateless communism. But the key is their ideology thoroughly denies the unalienable individual right to own property or the legitimate authority of a constiitutional republic to protect that right. Thus tey are collectivists.

What should be focused on is how often they provide the “bottom up” chaos needed by the other collectivists. Remember from reading Van Jones screed “STORM” how he managed to bring marxists, progressives AND anarchists together under one umbrella. I have always believed that while the union-dominated progressives marced “peacefully” in Seattle in 2000 during the WTO, the anarchist violent assaults on private property and their creation of chaos was implicitly coordinated with the progressives.

Well there’s marxist anarchists AND capitalist anarchists. That is true. That’s why the whole left-right paradigm is a sham. It’s more of a circle – maybe a sphere? – than a line. You either want control over people or you don’t want control over people. And then there’s in between.

I always thought the “Political Compass” was a fairly decent way to represent ideology. Up and down, left and right.

You are very wrong. Beck is correct. I do consider Anarchist a far RIGHT, the most extreme right as you can get. Like the left would want complete Government control, or extreme left as you can get.

I tend to lean towards anarcho capitalist myself. Anarchy is a desire for no governing rule, which would give each individual absolute liberty. If you ask me, that’s a far cry from what the progressives or liberals want. Without a governing body, who’s going to enforce social justice? No no, Anarchy is not what the liberals what. Anarchy is close to what YOU want, even if you’ll never admit it. You conservatives might not want ABSOLUTE anarchy, but you want to go closer to that then to the left. You want LESS Government, which is logic, what what Anarchist want. They just want a more extreme version of less Government…..

I know where people get the term Anarchist wrong. The youth use it as an excuse to rebel against “The Man” while not really understanding what anarchy itself really in tales or the general core of Anarchy is.

To others, they see it as a transitional movement. if you think about it, how was the American Colonies organized after the revolution war? It was a bit of Anarchy, not in the chaotic character that you‘re use to seeing but of a lack of a central government where individual states and it’s people have full control of their lives. No big government to tell them what to do. In a sense, America was in a form of Anarchy until they were able to adopt a Constitution and establish a central Government, which to some may have seen as a mistake.

If I were alive in those days, I would have been part of the Anti-Federalist crowd.

Americansoldier: There are anarcho-syndicalists and anarcho-capitalists. Anarchism is no more far right than it is far left, depending on the school of anarchy.

To you it may be scary times; to myself, it is interesting times, as of the old chinese proverb. We not only get to see history happen, the people of America are MAKING history happen.

Our country will live or pass into the night by our own choices; and as for myself, she will not pass without a fight.
