OH Priest Delivers Wild Drunken Rant After Arrest: Offers to be ‘Sexual Slave’

When police arrested a local priest in Brimfield Township, OH Sunday night for driving drunk, they never expected to be threatened and propositioned. But that’s exactly what happened.

Father Ignatius Kury was arrested after police found him lying down in the back of his car on the side of the road. His blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit. That’s when police took him to the local jail and put him in a cell while he sobered up. That’s also when he started ranting wildly:

“I sum it up as unusual at best,” Brimfield Township Police Chief David Blough told WJW-TV.

The station explains:

Police rolled a video tape of the incident to protect themselves and use it as evidence in court.

“Because of the fact that one of my officers walked by the holding cell and he was exposing himself,” said Chief Blough.

Kury is heard on the tape saying, “I’ll give you a sermon on the mount.”

According to Chief Blough, the priest’s rant lasted over 20 minutes during which he threatened and propositioned officers.

Kury is heard saying, “I’ll pay you whatever you want. What do you want? Want me to give you a [expletive]? Is that what you want?“ ”Do you want me to be a sexual slave?”

Eventually, Kury was released on bond.

This just shows how evil times are getting….it’s like we have an influx of evil spirits just causing folks to go batty…..why report on it and expose it? Sin can’t live in the light, expose it, confess it, and pray…..this isn’t any more a condemnation of the Catholic church than it is a condemnation of Christianity as a whole…..leave off judging what only God can judge, and just pray for the Body.

Ok I missread your last post. I agree completely with you on LDS. If Glenn did any noticeable research into Mormonism as he does with everything else, he would be running from them as fast as he can. In my opinion, souls are being stolen for the ramblings of a false prophet, money and power.

Glenn often said that he did extensive research into the various churches before choosing Mormonism, but given his ridiculous historical illiteracy when it comes to early Christianity I find it hard to believe. It seems more credible that he was a typical nominal Catholic who knew nothing about the faith when he fell away from it and came to Mormonism because it was the church of his friend Pat and in it he found the strength to sober up.

Mormonism is strong on indoctrination and very weak on critical understanding. Glenn clearly takes spoon feedings from LDS friendly (or Catholic UNfriendly) “historians” and doesn’t bother to verify them through real historical investigation, not like he does with American history.

Nothing Glenn says about Christianity is worth trusting on its own. He can be wrong about as often as he is right when it comes to uniquely Christian beliefs.

I didn’t know anything about Mormonism except for the facade until a person I know has been considering it. It is unbelievable what this cult is all about. If Glenn opened his mind to 25% of what I found, he would run. But they are a controlled entity and are scared of losing their families. Listen to the stories of exmormons and ones who now know the truth but can’t leave for fear of losing their families. It really is soul stealing, in my opinion.

Mormonism is nothing but fiction. It is based upon a completely made up history of the “lost tribes” of Israel and American Indians. It could only have been fabricated by and for people who didn’t know much history.

Counting the historical impossibilities would make a fun game.

The fact that this individual is a priest, to me, is no more important than if he had been a plumber. It just means that like too many people he doesn’t understand the depth or foundation of the message he is trying to live by. We must remember that ALL “Religious Systems” are created by men…….Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, etc. No religious system is going to “stand” before our Creator–we are responsible for our own personal relationship with him. In Matthew, Jesus said to the Pharisees, but it also applies to us today.
Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
If we seem to “bash” the Catholic Church, it is because so many of us have studied like mad to get the “doctrines and traditions of men” out of our faith.
And yes, when we find out the truth of how much we have been taught is the “traditions of men” instead of what the Bible really says it makes us angry for a while.
Since most of those “traditions of men” came from the Catholic Church, the first organized “Christian Religious System” you get the comments.

      Thank you.
I think we all start out believing whatever the “Pastor” of our religious denomination preaches from the pulpit……(I think as of 2009/2010 we were up to 38,000 different denominations supposed to be serving the same GOD) and a large part of us feel like we are living our life wandering in the desert.
As of 2009, I just knew that we were entering into a rough time, so I started reading my Bible like it was the latest, greatest, best selling novel!
I decided that I was only going to believe what I read in my Bible, and do exactly what it said to do.
What has totally amazed me is the blessings you receive for simply obeying what the Bible tells you to do, the way it tells you to do them. Guess it boils down to this:
Do Biblical things, Biblical ways and you get Biblical results!!

I guess he’s been reading the New Catholic Bible. Say 20 “Hail Mary’s” and everything will be absolved! “Physician heal thyself.”

II Peter 2 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, 11 whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord. 12 But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction, 13 suffering wrong as the wage for their wrongdoing. They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions,5 while they feast with you. 14 They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! 15 Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, 16 but was rebuked for his own transgression; ta speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

17 These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. 18 For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves 6 of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. 20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21 For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”

Constantine didn’t create the Catholic church. If any church he created it would have been the eastern Orthodox, since he permamnently moved the capital of the Roman Empire to Byzantium and renamed it Constantinople. This had the effect of reducing the political power of Rome as a city. It wouldn’t regain its political prominence until the West re-emrged from the barbarian invasions centuries later.

Of course the Israelites built the pyramids. They were enslaved in Egypt for 400 years. They were building the pyramids when Moses went to Pharaoh to tell him to let God’s people go.

The word JEW is defined to mean a member of the tribe of Judah. Jacob had 12 sons and they were called Israelites. Jacob’s sons were Gad, Asher, Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, Benjamin, Dan, and Naphtali.
In 1 Kings 11 we find that King Solomon, the king of Israel, married many foreign wives from Egypt, Moab, Ammon, Edom, Sidon, and Hittites. This angered God because Israelites were forbidden to marry foreigners. In verses 4 – 13 we read: As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other (false) gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech the detestable god of the Ammonites. So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done. On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molech the detestable god of the Ammonites. He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods. The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command. So the Lord said to Solomon, Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly TEAR THE KINGDOM AWAY FROM YOU and give it to one of your subordinates. NEVERTHELESS, FOR THE SAKE OF DAVID YOUR FATHER, I will not do it during your lifetime. I WILL TEAR IT OUT OF THE HAND OF YOUR SON. YET I WILL NOT TEAR THE WHOLE KINGDOM FROM HIM, BUT WILL GIVE HIM ONE TRIBE (and that one tribe was the tribe of Judah; called Jews today) for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, WHICH I HAVE CHOSEN.
So as the story of the history of Israel goes, the kingdom of Israel was split after King Solomon died, and it became known as the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah. The Northern Kingdom of Israel eventually went into captivity to Assyria and never returned to the Promised Land and became lost to the pages of history. The Southern Kingdom of Judah went into captivity to Babylon 138 years later, but after 70 years was allowed to return to the Promised Land. This Southern Kingdom of Judah became known as the people called Jews, a disparaging name given them by the Babylonians. Today this one tribe lives in Modern Day Israel, but Judah’s brother tribes remain lost and unaccounted for to this very day. Today we call Modern Day Israel the Israelites as though that is all of Israel that is remembered, but Judah’s brother tribes still exist. When Israel became a nation in 1948 only the tribe of Judah came to live in Israel, so the Nation of Israel is not complete yet, and will not be until we see Ezekiel’s prophecy fulfilled, which we find in Ezekiel 37 where the Whole House of Israel is reunited and restored. To call all of the Israelites Jews is just incorrect.

As for the priest here: shameful!

As one who went to a Catholic school my whole life I know this is just one of the, how can I say it? fake churches. They put the word Catholic in to give them instant credibility. In fact that may of been what sent this man over the top.

Once again, you are the one who needs to get your facts straight, which a mere one minute would verify for you. Eastern Orthodoxy and Byzantine Catholicism are not the same. Fr. Kury is a Ukranian Catholic priest. Ukranian Catholics are Byzantine rite. Byzantine rite is in full communion with Rome. Try doing your homework first, because I did before I posted my comment in the first place.

The way you do it is this: You Google Fr. Ignatius Kury and find out he’s the pastor of St. Nicholas Ukranian Catholic Church in Akron. You then go to the Web site of St. Nicholas and right at the top they indicate themselves to be a parish within the Ukranian Catholic Eparchy of St. Josaphat. You then go to their Web site, and find out that, lo and behold, this Eparchy was established in 1983 by … drum roll, please … Pope John Paul II.

That’s a shame. I don’t share the priests faith, but what is wrong with the world when those who are supposed to be leaders of faith and discipleship act so inappropriately?

But you DO share this guy’s faith:

Rev. Grant Storms, a renowned anti-gay Christian pastor from Louisiana, was arrested last week for masturbating at a public park, in the vicinity of a carousel and playground where children were present.

According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, one woman saw Storms parked in his van “looking at the playground area that contained children playing, with his zipper down…,” the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office report read. After judging that Storms was masturbating, the woman and another mother who witnessed the event both alerted deputies.

This stuff is like clockwork. the rest of the country has caught on that Jesus freaks are disproportionately just plain freaks. When are you people gonna catch up?

We have to remember that priests are human, just like the rest of us, and are still in need of Christ’s salvation. What he did was wrong, and God will certainly tend to Him more harshly than those of us who are not teachers of the faith, but he is in need of prayers.

I believe he is not even on our team. he’s on your team and has infiltrated our side. you point out the offenders as an example of how bad we are, but they are not us. they are you pretending to be us. they are not those who worship God and have gone bad. They are the bad who pretend to worship God in order to gain our trust and provide examples to people like you to hold up as evidence against our beliefs.

Thank you JR. That was well thoughout and well put. Dog-y-dog is an anti-christian…and most can’t see that anti-christians have infiltrated most denominations…both Catholic and Protestant. It usually shows itself as social justice teaching or humanitarianism. Not much different from each other. But definitely NOT an understanding of the inerrant Word of God.

Dawgb goes from calling christians “jesus freaks” to “a Brother in Christ” at the flip of a switch. Newsflash Dawg, you actually have to believe in and love Christ to be a brother. He is waiting for you with open arms, at least until you die in sin. Until then, you’re just another lost soul stumbling around without the Truth.

Sometimes i feel the anti catholic rhetoric is too much here.

ISHKA…Agree. I am not Catholic, but human weakness has existed since the beginning of time in all faiths, all religions and in Atheists. The press is quick to hold up the handful of scumbags who happen to be Christians as poster children for anyone who believes in a God…Anything to further their agenda. While this guy needs serious help and likely should be excommunicated or whatever the Catholic version of “Firing” is for a priest, he does not represent the entire religion. The Vatican has tried to hide or deny they have a few rogue priests for far too long instead of making an example of them. This in itself has helped to sour some people on their faith. We need to focus on our commonalities as Americans in the coming days and treat individuals like this as ‘individuals’ as they do not represent the lion’s share of Catholics; or at least the ones I know.

“Father Ignatius Kury is not a Roman Catholic Priest”

Yes, he is a priest of the Byzantine Catholic Church, but since that is still under the See of Rome it’s a bit of a distinction without a difference.

There are bad priests everywhere. Ordination doesn’t take away our sinful nature. But we have a High Priest who is faultless, even though his followers aren’t.

What did Christ say to the woman caught in the act of adultery. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. This is where people lose sight of religion. Everybody wants to hold someone up as an example but no one wants to forgive.

Christ forgave those (us) who brutally murdered him. He did it with love. Could you do that. Could you forgive someone who murdered your friend, mother, brother, sister…. What if God wants to forgive them. Do you judge God. DO you say he is wrong.

Oncewas, thank you for pointing out he was not a Roman Catholic. Yes they have had issues they could have dealt with differently but it isnt fair to assume he’s catholic by his deeds.
