Olbermann Lashes Out at Obama With Nazi-Era Reference

The list of liberal pundits jumping from the Obama ship keeps growing. Add to it Keith Olbermann. During Tuesday Night’s “Countdown,“ Olbermann ranted for over 11 minutes about Obamas ”tax cut” deal with Republicans. But always the class act, and original, Olbermann made sure to get in a Nazi reference.

As Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher points out, Olbermann tried to tip-toe around the reference, but it was still pretty clear:

He might deny it, using a lace doily of a fig leaf that would embarrass even Rush Limbaugh, but Countdown host Keith Olbermann’s “Special Comment” Tuesday night heavily featured that most Godwinian of rhetorical devices: the Nazi comparison.

So what did Olbermann say? Well after opening his rant with a Winston Churchill quote and contrasting it with a statement from a secret government source, Olbermann goes on to insinuate Nazi appeasement:

The Churchill quotation — as opposed to the quotation from the very Senior member of your Administration, Mr. President — is from October 5th, 1938.

I don’t want to make any true comparison to the historical event to which it related; the viewer can go ahead and look it up if they wish; I will confess I won’t fight if anybody wants to draw a comparison between what you’ve done with our domestic politics of our day, to what Neville Chamberlain did with the international politics of his.

As Christopher puts it: “Translation: ‘I’m not sayin, I’m just sayin.’”

One final point before the video. You’ll hear Olbermann get angry with his government source for making some belittling comment that since Olbermann disagreed with the deal, he must just not have understood it. Here‘s Olbermann’s reaction:

Yesterday I had an exchange with a very Senior member of this Administration who wanted to sell me on this deal. I pointed out that that was fine, except that — as I phrased it to him — “frankly the base has just vanished.” “Well,” he replied, “then they must not have read the details.” There, in a nutshell, is this Administration. They didn’t make a bad deal — we just don’t understand it.

Maybe I’m reading into things, but Olbermann’s complaint there sounds a lot like what conservatives have been noticing with the administration for the last two years — mainly, every time Obama and the democrats fail, it’s only a communication problem, or the voters just aren‘t smart enough to understand what’s going on. Say it ain’t so, Keith!

Now, the video:

These Democrats who are fleeing from the sinking ship of the Obama agenda should be judged by what they first stood for in when the tide was in favor for them and the Obama juggernaut.

Now that the “unwashed masses” have spoken through the mid term election these same Obama sycophants have turned color and are “suddenly” on the side of the voter and against their own “golden boy”.

This only spells their duplicity and that they amount to nothing more than “fair weather friends” whose word cannot be taken seriously. The very fact that they have dumped Obama at this critical point only cements that their interests are to preserve their jobs over the concerns of the voter.
Answer: Do not take them seriously and dump them the moment we have an opportunity.

I think that the media on the left may be waking up to the fact that Obama does not have their best interest at heart. He is not interested in “sharing” (redistributing) the wealth within the country–taking from the rich and giving to the poor. He wants to bring the whole thing crashing down in flames, and them with it…

Progressives do not have the skills nor the integrity/credibility (lie- by any means – etc) to mend fences. Their distrust of one another is only matched by their mistrust of the informed voter!

There is something fishy about all this. There is a new strategy at work here. If all the progs jump ship who will the dems run 2012? After the bliss of 2008 there is not one that can carry the primaries with a consensus, is there? We witnessed G. Soros throw Obama under the bus. Now even the bootlicks are getting their share of flesh in this scenario. Makes me wary, knowing that prog tactics are nothing short of evil.

They say that by using repetition, one will eventually convince people of your good intent and ideas and get your point across most simply.. Problem is that not only can it convince those open to manipulation by receiving something for nothing, but it can even more effectively strengthen opposition that is just becoming more and more justified to these very same previously attractive points of view.Point of proof was the more Obama tried to convince Americans of the benefits and net improvement of his health care overhaul, the more he made them wonder why he was repeating himself so often if it was so obviously a benefit.

HEDLEY LAMARR [to movie cashier]: “One please.” [holds up ID for discount] “Uhh … student?”
      CASHIER: “Are you kidding?”

I do believe that Keith Olbermann just revealed the cornerstone reason why he’s a Progressive, and the great news is that his reasoning is demonstrably flawed. Here’s what he said:

“The economy is surprisingly simple: if business and the rich won’t spend, and the middle class can’t spend, the only factor left to keep pushing money into the insatiable maw of Capitalism is the government.”

He clearly does not understand how the economy works.

The fundamental truth he fails to understand, which seems to be the basis for all his Leftist views, is this:

In that the individual has used his own body to produce or earn something (labor), that which is produced or earned belongs to him, and to him alone.

The second thing Olbermann fails to understand is that the government does not exist unless there’s a private sector to fund it

From these two principles comes the Founders’ belief that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed. All governments are beholden to their respective private sectors, because all wealth comes from the private sector; and government is beholden to each individual citizen in the same way, and as individuals, because all men are created equal.

So, because of these truths, all redistributive policies are theft, because the wealth that we create belongs to us and not to anyone else; and the Progressive Tax violates our equality, because it treats one set of people different than another based on a non-existent class distinction – wealth is created by labor, and each person labors in differing capacities and/or efficiencies, which is why the amount of wealth someone has cannot soley be used as a class distinction.

If Olbermann honestly believes what he says about the economy, then my arguments should suffice to alter his belief. Otherwise, reason doesn’t matter to him.
