Olbermann: S.E. Cupp Should Have Never Been Born, Proves ‘Necessity’ of Planned Parenthood

Keith Olbermann is not known for his candor.* In a sense, it‘s what’s made him a popular figure on the left. And sure, he makes off-the-wall comments sometimes in order to evoke a response. But he may have gone too far today when he suggested that conservative commentator S.E. Cupp is a prime example of why the world needs Planned Parenthood (PP). Translation, she should have never been born.

Immediately, the comment drew fire from those who said Olbermann, the former MSNBC host turned Current TV commentator, insinuated Cupp should have been aborted. And just as quickly, Olbermann started treading water.

Here’s how it went down.

Olbermann’s initial comment, via Twitter, was a response to a tweet from a follower who pointed out that on Joy Behar’s show last night, Cupp said she wasn’t a fan of supporting Planned Parenthood:

Naturally, people were outraged, chastising Olbermann for what they believed was him calling for her fetal death:

As S.E. Cupp’s mother, I have to ask: Have you no shame? No depth to which you will not stoop to insult an adversary?

My daughter was raised to express her opinion respectfully. I am sure you were as well. What happened?

You should know that her father and I are endlessly proud of the young woman she has become.

      Not even Keith Olbermann is an argument for abortion. All human life is of value to God–even Keith Olbermann’s. And having said that, I’ll only add that that says a lot more about God than it does about Keith Olbermann.

      i wish i could agree with you. but having dealt with marixt in my original home and now here in America. Can’t with good conscience agree. Evil must be stopped.try reading the book Exposing the Real Che Guevara and the Useful Idiots Wdo Idolize Him by Humberto Fontova. It took me a day to get through the first five pages of the introduction. very hard to read or type through tears. Due hope that we can prevent it from happening here. Can’t tell you what it was like for those trying to leave Asia because of communism. From personal accounts of family and those who became friends, less than half of our family members were able to break free.
      The worst for me was being told by a leftist working in the church that i was not allowed to think or feel the things in my heart. this was just over a year after my baby sister was taken fromus by a serial killer. NO not all people deserve mercy or the blessins of god. The innocent deserve good people who will stand in thier defence, S simple phone call could have save my baby sister, but someone looked the other way. Now she’s gone!

      Well, when it comes to the premise that evil must be stopped, I agree with you. But first of all, Keith Olbermann, irritating as he is, is not Che Guevara. Second of all, using a military action to stop a mass murderer is different than aborting someone in the womb. Of course, you never know whether the child in the womb is going to turn out to be Che Guevera or Mother Teresa. Olbermann’s logic here makes no sense, because to justify abortion as a means of getting rid of S.E.Cupp (whom he finds irritating) might just as easily have gotten rid of Obama (whom he finds sublime).

      In terms of your statement that “not all people deserve mercy or the blessings of God,” I can only say that I‘m glad that God makes the decision who’s deserving of mercy, and not myself. I’m hardly the person who has the standing to make that decision. Fact is, no one “deserves” mercy. If we all got what we “deserved,” we would all end up in Hell. If it were deserved, it wouldn’t be mercy, by definition. Mercy is 100% a gift.

      As difficult as it is to swallow sometimes, all human beings are made in the image of God–and that includes Che Guevera and Adolf Hitler. The only way that their mass murders can be condemned is because their victims’ had dignity as human beings precisely because they were created in the image of God. But that statement is equally true of the murderer himself. You can’t be selective and say, This person is deserving of life, but that person is not, whatever your criteria might be. That’s the very kind of thinking that leads to mass murder in the first place, whether the murderer is Hitler or Che or the abortion doctor.

      Now, of course, as I said, a military action to stop genocide is a very different scenario, and that gets into the whole theology of just war and duty to one’s country. But I don’t think that Keith Olbermann was suggesting that Congress declare war against S.E. Cupp … ;)

      Sorry–I didn’t fully read your last paragraph before I replied, so I want to add that I am very sorry about what happened to your sister, and I will pray for your healing. I should add at this point, that I fully support the death penalty for serial killers. Because the death penalty is an action of the State in exercising justice, and the State is endowed with that authority by God, it does not constitute murder, properly speaking, in the same way that abortion does. As far as your sister’s murderer goes, I do believe that only God can decide what mercy he will or will not receive on Judgment Day. However, I’m speaking as someone who has not had a family member murdered, and I cannot say what my feelings would be if I were in that situation, so I completely understand and sympathize with any feeling you might have.

      What you were told by that “leftist” individual in Church was 100% wrong. Though I haven’t lost a family member to murder, I have lost a child to a stillbirth, and I certainly know how wrong it is to go around telling people that their reactions to such grief are somehow bad. Different people work out their feelings in different ways, and it takes a very long time to do so. My daughter died 5 years ago, as of this coming Monday, and I‘m not sure I’ve completely worked out my anger toward her doctor, since I think he could have given my wife better care than he did when she developed preclampsia. All that I have said in my prior posts is what I believe by faith to be true, but that doesn’t always match up with our feelings all the time, and that’s okay.

      As much as I find the practice of waterboarding unethical, and in some cases immoral, there is a time when I can honestly make an exception to the rule. With Olbermann, he now has become that exception, for he has crossed the line of no return and become more than a radical; he is now fully a radical and extremist who is propagating dangerous views and should be checked out in a fully set psychiatric hospital before he goes the way Charlie Sheen has.

      All politics aside, it’s clear to anyone who pauses a moment that Olbermann has serious issues with women of any influence or stature. He is the one who wanted to see Hillary enter a room with a man, and only the man walks out. Also note he says such things on Twitter or in the safety of a guarded studio, instead of before a live audience.

      A man with this kind of rage over strong women–Right or Left–might be seriously dangerous if he didn’t have a podium from which to vent and spew.

      Does anyone else notice that every single MSNBC anchor carries the exact same facial expression? A crooked smirk that somehow expresses both a sense of condescending superiority, and also a manic quality that makes you think they’re all on the perpetual brink of a nervous breakdown? It’s kind of creepy. I can’t even stand looking at pictures of them, and video makes me really uneasy. They do such a good job of taking the beauty that is the human mind and contorting it into something frightful.

      I hope that we, as conservatives, never resort to the vile tactics of our opponents. Censorship for the sake of PC should never be part of our arsenal. The liberal/progressive movement would silence those that they disagree with. We should allow our opponents every chance to put forth their arguments whether we agree with them or not. It is through this process that we can sensibly put forth our own points of view. Reasonable people will see that our viewpoints are more in keeping with what they themselves believe and will be drawn to our side of the table in droves. The Looney Left and the MSM will collapse from their own unsteady platforms of hate and scorn. Everyone deserves to be heard. Especially those that we disagree with. That should be our guide in the political arena. Don’t worry whether the other side follows our example or not. WE must follow our stated principles.
