Olbermann Uses Jesus to Paint Repubs. as ‘Morons’

During his “Worst Person” segment on last nights “Countdown,“ Keith Olbermann channeled his inner Jesus in order to mock ”worst person,” Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN).
After Bachmann responded to the obligatory who-would-you-like-to-have-dinner-with question with “Jesus, George Washington, Adam – the first man – the Apostle Paul, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ann Coulter, Ronald Reagan and Mark Levin,” Olbermann couldn’t help but opine on the selection.
His response (via NewsBusters):
Yes, Reagan would turn back into a Democrat. Washington would read her his farewell address warning against forming political parties. Adam would reconsider celibacy. Paul would announce he’d gone blind again. Bach would play the harpsichord loud enough to drown out her voice. Coulter would question Jesus’s sexuality. Levin would run out on the check. And Jesus would shout, “Get these out of here. Do not make the House of Representatives a house of morons,” and then turn over the table. You know, like in the Real Housewives of New Jersey. [Emphasis added]
Olbermann also took the opportunity to mock Bachmann’s desire to reduce the federal government to “it’s original size” and adherence to strict Constitutional constructionism:
As a side note, the interview Olbermann references was not conducted by World Net Daily. The interview is from the book Portraits of Success: Candid Conversations with 60 Over-Achievers by Burty Prelutsky, and the Bachmann excerpt was only posted on the website.
Additionally, if one ignores Olbermann’s oh-my-gosh pause after the “they could all speak English” part of the interviewer’s question, the comment is far from shocking, is actually necessary, and surprisingly inclusive and diverse.
The interviewer was trying not to limit the dinner guests to English-speakers. He wanted to be clear to Bachmann that no matter who she picked language barriers would not be an issue because, for this one moment (in this thought experiment), they would all speak English. Not surprisingly, Bachmann picked at least four people whose first language would not have been English (Jesus, Paul, Adam, and Bach).
That doesn’t seem to be worth turning over the tables.

It’s the exact same meaning as “worse” though, so how can it come after “worse” on Olbermann’s little list? That’s my point. They aren’t consecutive.
“Worse” is standard English, “worser” is obsolete but still acceptable… although it’s exactly on par with “worse” so having it come after “worse” on that list, which implies it trumps it, shows how stupid he is.
You can tell me something is “worser” than something, but I can say “No, but this is even worse”. Or vice-versa. Exact same meaning.
There are really only 2 meanings on that list: worse/worser and worst, so Olbermann is putting 2 people on par with each other every single show and has no idea.

This doesn’t even really make sense; they aren’t linear. Two can be used in place of one another, as “worser” means the exact same thing as “worse”. It’s not even standard English. On top of that, “worse” and “worser” are cumulative, so technically could transcend “worst” after the fact.
That always bothered me… it’s just so amateur.

What I can’t wrap my mind around is how anyone who knows what happened in Russia, Greece, Cuba, Germany, Romania, Venezuela and a whole bunch of other countries who dabbled in social/communism (I know, they call themselves progressive and they think we don‘t know it’s a euphemism for communist) can possibly WANT to live that way. Glenn Beck had 1,810,000 viewers on the same date from the same source. Olbermann’s viewership has been fairly constant over the last year, while Beck’s viewership has dropped by about half, and he has had numbers as low as 1.4 million, while Keith has had as many as 1.2 million viewers. One Hundred thousand people isn’t that much of a difference, when you come down to it, but it’s a heck of a lot more than three viewers.
By the way, Keith’s parents are dead, they died within a year of each other. And he’s never been married, although he does live with Katy Tur. The loss of his father was very difficult for Keith, he spent months sitting next to his father’s bed as he died slowly of multiple complications to a tragic fall. The experience prompted him to ask his viewers to donate money to hold free health clinics in multiple locations across the country. He raised over $1.5 million dollars, and six different clinics which saw about 10,000 people who had no health care. Some people hadn’t been to doctors in years. When Keith mentioned the plight of an Indian Reservation that was seeking $35,000 to replace a ruined electrical system, his viewers donated $350,000 to the Reservation within two weeks. Keith got nothing for himself from either of these pleas.
