On-Air Interview Heats Up as Rep Claims ObamaCare Repeal Would Kill Americans

Before the House of Representatives voted to repeal the year-old health care law, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, — who yesterday claimed repealing the measure was “unconstitutional” — appeared on Fox News’s Your World with host Neil Cavuto. In a very heated exchange, Jackson Lee argued that a repeal of President Obama’s signature health care law meant more Americans without insurance would die.
But when Cavuto challenged her narrative — the story of an elderly woman who already receives Medicare — the Texas Democrat fired back, accusing Cavuto of being blinded by his opinion and ignorant of logic:

With the mounting evidence that soundly disproves what she said today, it is at the very least willful ignorance that would point to a neglect of her duties. Lee is absolutely no one to criticize someone else’s logic.

** Page 58 and 59: The government will have real-time access to an individual’s bank accounts and will have the authority to make electronic fund transfers from those accounts.
** Page 65/section 164: The plan will be subsidized (by the government) for all union members, union retirees and for community organizations (such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now – ACORN).
** Page 203/line 14-15: The tax imposed under this section will not be treated as a tax. (How could anybody in their right mind come up with that?)
I am quite sure that there is a lot more in the bill that I have not found yet. All this just makes my leg tingle.

Posted on January 19, 2011 at 7:46pmI saw the interview on TV. Mr. Cavuto asked several questions that Rep. Jackson studiously avoided answering. Apparently Rep. Jackson went to the same schools as ex-Rep. Grayson, believing people not covered by Obamacare will die. From what she said, I think she believes that since a large number of Americans who are not insured because they don’t feel the need or want to spend the money, forcing them to buy into Obamacare will fix everything.
I would like to know when Obamacare ceased to be health insurance and became health care. A lot of people are going to be very surprised when they have to pay the higher prices and be satisfied with the reduced level of care and increased costs that are coming if Obamacare is notrepealed.

It seems that you guys love to call people names – and you love to complain that certain people ‘don’t want to spend the money to buy health insurance; So WITHOUT any name calling let me say this. Health Insurance companies CAN NO LONGER simply jack the prices – THAT IS OVER with this law. They need to show a reason for a ‘reasonable increase’!
Until this law went into effect, YES, more than forty-thousand (40,000) people died every year because they were either denied care because of a pre-existing condition or cost of care.
Google ‘Free Clinics’.
When did ‘Obamacare’ become health care and not health insurance? It IS health insurance, but you guys have ‘renamed’ it. It is provided by the PRIVATE sector (except for Medicare, Medicad and SCHIP) – and with oversight (finally, to make sure that the Health Insurance companies actually use at least 85% of your premium to pay for medical costs. Until now they have used less than 45% for medical care and 55% for exec salaries, bonuses, vacations, lobbyists, etc. Are you happy with that??
Insurance companies can NO LONGER refuse to cover anyone – for whatever reason!!! HOW MANY OF YOU COULD AFFORD TO PAY FOR YOUR OWN cancer care, heart operation, limb amputation because of diabetes?? Well, you don’t have to worry any more because the insurance Companies CANNOT refuse to cover you.
If it was your son or daughter who developed leukemia or diabetes and the Insurance company REFUSED to cover your child because of a pre-existing condition – how would you care for that child??
How many of you work in a ‘dead-end’ job – and can’t change jobs because or the health care coverage you get? Well, now you CAN change jobs and get continued coverage.
How many here have a grandparent who has ended up in the ‘donut-hole‘ for their prescriptions and couldn’t afford to buy their needed medication – so went without.
Let us ALL try to live by THE GOLDEN RULE!

It is obvious to me that you have not taken time to read the health care bill. Heres some pages for you to start with as I think they pertain to you as well as me:
** Page 272. section 1145: Cancer hospitals will ration care according to the patient’s age.
** Page 317 and 321: The government will impose a prohibition on hospital expansion; however, communities may petition for an exception.
** Page 425, line 4-12: The government mandates advance-care planning consultations. Those on Social Security will be required to attend an “end-of-life planning” seminar every five years. (Death counseling!)
** Page 429, line 13-25: The government will specify which doctors can write an end-of-life order.
Now, if you still think us conservatives are are ill informed, you have my sympathy.
