One Day Later: 8-Year-Old Boy Found Alive in Tornado Rubble

The Tennessean:

The mountainous region of the state was hit with a barrage of pounding rain, strong winds and hail as a stormy spring continued with an angry vengeance.

Search and rescue teams across east Tennessee continued to look for victims. Amy Maxwell, Hamilton County public information officer, said about 150 volunteers were assisting authorities in the Apison community where eight people were killed. More than 150 area residents were treated for injuries, she said.

In this world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world, John 16:33 Jesus told us to expect these type of things in this fallen world. The question is not why did so many die, but why would God let any of us live in view of our rebellious nature & our tendancy to ignore Him & His standards. While we were yet SINNERS, God sent His Son to die in our place that we might have life & have it abundantly. We praise God during good time & we praise God during bad times. The Lord gives & the Lord takes away, Blessed be the name of the Lord! We know where we are going, do you? There is nothing you can count on today in this craxy mixed up world, only God NEVER changes. Trust in Him.

I know that there is a GOD. I have heard his voice and seen a vision from him. No! I don’t drink,do drugs or anything like that. I have seen the gifts of the Spirit that the Bible speak of in operation. I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist.

“I” believe in God. “I” believe in Jesus Christ. “I” live through faith. There is a God and He loves us all. Praise Jesus. Every one is entitiled to their own opinion but please don’t bash those of us who DO believe and live our lives with our belief. We don’t mock those who do not believe. We pray and love those who do not believe and hope our lives and the way we live is an example and declaration of our beliefs. “Every knee will bow and every tongue confess.

Catharsis you mention the things going on in the world as your “evidence”, I’m laughing-the happenings there are sheer scripture of the last days. Might do you some good to read up on what’s
coming , if you don’t get it then, well sorry! I have long wanted to be able to hear what some of the evildoers on earth had to say when they arrived in the afterlife they denied. Maybe,“ Dam” to

Keep in mind, God doesn’t cause bad things to happen. God is simply there to help us to get through the bad things that happen. This isn’t His judgment. That will come for each of us, individually one day.

Wonderful and wonder-filled experiences with GOD each and every day as HE manifests HIMSELF more and more openly, not only to HIS “kids”, but also to others who are questioning and maybe still searching for HIM. Hooray for this child, the searchers, and for all who survived those storms. We and our precious dogs were six who did by GOD’S GRACE.

On the topic of GOD and HIS GRACE for your encouragement~~~

Yesterday my husband and I were checking out at a large store. Of all the checkers in the place, we chose the one where a bubbly gracious woman was working. She had on many pins, but the one that caught my attention read, “HE is Risen!”, and I commented on it. Oh, my goodness, it was like turning on a light bulb. She smiled so big with her lips and then with her eyes, and off we went. She would quote Scripture and we shared stories of GOD’s grace and love and provision. On and on we talked, never ceasing to work; we worked in tandem praising out loud our LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. She kept saying, “We know how the story ends, and it is gooooood!”

Almost finished with our work, I looked up behind me to see a woman standing in line. She was wearing a CHRISTIAN t-shirt. I walked back to comment on it to her. I showed her my t-shirt, which carried a CHRISTIAN message also, and I told her about our checker and what we were doing. She smiled and joined us in our praising. The checker when I walked back down to tell her about the woman and her t-shirt said, “Where two or more are gathered in MY name, there I AM in the midst of them.”

On and on went the joy, the praise, wrapping itself around us and flowing over us and onto others. As I was leaving, the checker said to me, “Come here, my dear sister in THE LORD and give me a hug!” And, hug, we did. A young woman working at the next aisle said, “You two stop. You’re going to make me cry!” The checker said, “She’s a believer, too.” More hugs and more love.

Maybe, CHRISTIANS, it is time to put on our “JESUS clothes”, notify our faces, and get “out there” carrying HIS light and HIS joy and HIS encouragement to others. The world needs HIM!

By the way, we were people of two different races…..No matter what the current administration has done and is doing to divide us as AMERICANS, yesterday I witnessed a mighty work of GOD’s. Five of HIS “kids” were drawn together and had a spiritual reunion right there out in public praising our GOD, our LORD, and our SAVIOR, and loving each other just because we are HIS.

Nice party, GOD. Thank YOU for throwing it, and thank YOU that we all showed up to celebrate!

I couple things I find interesting. First, that when someone expresses their religious views, others who do not hold those views find it necessary to mock and criticize (is this ‘tolerance’?). If you believe or not believe in a deity, and live according to that belief, that is your right.

The second thing (and the comments here reminded me of this) is the reasoning used by many who reject God’s existence. They often argue that because there is no (or not enough) solid scientific evidence He exists, then one must conclude He does not exist. Basically no evidence = no reality. But let’s apply that same reasoning (no evidence = no reality) to other things:

    - Many centuries ago, man had no solid scientific evidence of the existence of other planets, atoms, a sun-centered solar system, the Milky Way galaxy, or even a round Earth. Now, we know of all this today, but place yourself back in ancient times. Applying the reasoning used of God, one must concluded that the lack of solid scientific evidence meant that (at that time) there were no atoms, no round Earth, no other planets, etc.

    - Alien life. Do we have sold scientific evidence that conclusively proves it exists? No. There are bits and pieces that seem to indicate it, but nothing solid, yet. Therefore, applying the reasoning used of God (no evidence = no reality), one must conclude that aliens do not exists. Yet many believe they do, but that the evidence is not yet discovered.

My point: the lack of evidence does not mean the lack of reality, only the lack of evidence at the present time.

It is the nature of illusion to pass away and how fragile it is and to the flesh never seems fair. Some how we think that Truth (reality) should just be given to us and if not then God can’t exist. Sad at how little we care for Him and how great He is that He would even let His own creation deny Him. No wonder Jesus loved and loves Him so much. Glory to you Most High God.

I think the official death toll is more like 337. Only one saved? Maybe in this one little story there is only a single survivor mentioned. However I think there were a slightly higher number of residents in the several states and hundreds of towns/cities that were affected.

Tuscaloosa, AL alone has a population of over 90,000 people. That would raise the dead to survivor ratio somewhat.

Using your logic, the rest of the country survived the tornado so the real ratio is 337 to 360+ million. WOW! There is a god! The rest of the world survived the tornadoes too! So the death to survivor ratio is really 6+billion to 337!!!! Praise god for sparing the rest of us!

Those who died are those that earned a place with Him, the young and others that were spared will be His messengers and will hopefully inspire share His Love, so that even you and others like you may gain entry into The Kingdom of Heaven. If you believe the hatred and loss of freedom that is happening all around you now is good and will make mankind happier, then another reason for sparing the messengers is so we will not have to spend eternity with those of you who have hardened your hearts. Are you paying down your part of the National Debt ($47,000/person) from that fat paycheck you are getting, or are you grubbing it all for yourself? A money monger no doubt, do as I say, not as I do. Well, grow up, little person because someday you will face the real world with a wife/husband, children, mortgage, etc. and hopefully no one will stick it to you like they have stuck it to so many in the last 2-1/2 yrs. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. (Matthew 24:6-8; Mark 13:7-8 NIV).

Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.” (Luke 21:10-11 NIV).

If you believe there is no God and when you die find out there is a God, it will be too late to change your eternal destination, emphasis on eternal. If I believe there is a God and when I die find out there isn’t a God, what have I lost? What have you lost? Believe what you will.

The Bible states that Satan is the god of this world, and that is due to Adam and Eve believing what he said than what God said. Since Satan is the “god of this world”, God the Father cannot intervene in this world except through those who have made the decision to accept the free gift of life through Jesus Christ. Who knows how many people have prayed for this boy, or even that he has already given his life to Jesus and was protected? In another vein, we all have a finite time on this earth. For those who perished in this storm, for those who belong to Him it may be time to come home, and for the rest them, their time to make a decision to accept Jesus has run out. Who are we to say either way? Only the Father knows their hearts.

Satan is currently retrained by the Holy Spirit from doing what he is fully capable of doing. You may think things are bad now, but I would not want to be without Jesus when the Holy Spirit is removed and Satan is allowed to do as he pleases on this earth. Please, learn about the Father and His Son Jesus Christ before it’s your time to step into eternity. You really have nothing to lose in this life except the sin that separates you from the Father, but you have everything to lose for eternity if you don’t make a decision to accept the free gift of Jesus Christ; emphasis on eternity. The fool says in his heart ‘there is no god.’

Catharsis, we all die. Not one of us will get out of here alive, ever! Whether you believe in God or not, you will eventually die. But every now and again, God does intervene and give one of us a miracle that allows us to live a bit longer.

Yes Virginia there IS a GOD. He created the earth and mankind, He gave us FREE WILL and that is why we are in such a mess now. BUT He knew the beginning and the end, why are those that say ‘how can a loving god allow all this?” The free will thing is why, your rejection of HIM will allow evil free reign, that’s why. If you know ME you know the Father who sent me, no one comes to the Father but by ME, Jesus said. Yes God is Love, For God so LOVED the WORLD HE gave His only begotten SON, that whoever believes in Him has everlasting life. THAT IS LOVE. Would you do the same???
