One-in-a-Million Shot Catches Lady Liberty Lightning Strike

New York photographer Jay Fine says he waited more than 40 years for the perfect shot, which finally came during a storm last month in Manhattan. The 58-year-old caught the Statue of Liberty standing strong against one of the most powerful forces in nature (via Metro):

    I don’t think it looks like a direct hit. Looks like to me the lighting struck behind it making it look like it struck lady liberty!!

    Mother nature is amazing! So beautiful, and so deadly. I love the science guy bill nye saying that There are billions of cows in the United States, and they create millions of tons of methane in the atmosphere. Now there is a lighting storm about every 6 minutes somewhere on the planet. and lighting striking from the ground into space, and sideways from horizon to horizon, a lighting strike can be as hot as the sun, and 100,000 volts. So much for any methane in the atmosphere. I believe lighting is cleansing our atmosphere From more than just methane. Seems like commonsense to me, So much for global warming.

      I agree – it looks like it’s hitting the land BEHIND her… this isn’t even PhotoShopped, it’s just at an angle that makes it seem like she got hit. Of course no self-respecting NBC reporter would look beyond the image that was handed to them. The days of “investigative journalism” have been gone for years from this country.

      If you look closely the lighting actually hit across the bay. You can see it light up the ground and the buildings back there. If it had hit the statue then the top of her head would be lit up but it is actually in shadow. Lighting is so bright that it creates almost a lens flair effect making it look closer and bigger then it actually is.

      There was very little care and respect for other attendees in your clip. A group of lost souls full of despair. No clear direction and no collective support of ideas. Unlike 8/28 the lack of true honest ideology was evident. Hypothesis, if any of the groups were to assume power, the others would certainly feel disdain and promptly destroy them.

      Fully evident was a vision that all the different ideas were lost in a sea of subjective myopic outlook, soul searching in the eyes of others, looking at each other for direction, and finding none. Time to call them what they are. Leftist, Communist WHACK JOBS… who think only of themselves, not the greater good. Come and get my money… socialist! Thanks for the video.
