One More Reason Why Obama Might Want to Rethink That ‘Forward’ Slogan

On the heels of WaPo writer David Maraniss revealing Barack Obama’s long-mysterious “New York girlfriend” from his “Dreams From My Father,” Mercury Ink — the publishing arm of Glenn Beck — will be releasing a book detailing in-depth the relationship between Obama and another mysterious figure from that memoir: “Frank.”

Obama talks longingly of Frank in his memoir, but never says exactly who he is. Now we know that, unlike the New York girlfriend, Frank was much more than a “compression,” he was very real. “Frank,” it turns out, was the Communist revolutionary Frank Marshall Davis.

In a new book debuting in July (“The Communist”), Prof. Paul Kengor reveals the insight he gleaned from his exhaustive review of Davis’s original writings, along with Davis’s enormous FBI file. Kengor sheds some light on exactly what kind of influence the controversial figure had on the future president.

So naturally when Kengor heard about the new “Forward” campaign slogan being used by the Obama team, he went back through his research to see if there were any mentions of the term in relation to Davis.

There was.

In an issue of the The Chicago Star — the communist Chicago newspaper where Davis was a columnist –about May Day 1948, there’s a curious, almost-full-page quote:

The quote is from August Spies. Not surprisingly, as one site explains, he has a checkered past:

He became involved in trade union activities and joined the Socialist Labor Party in 1877. Three years later he began contributing to the anarchist journal, Arbeiter Zeitung, and became editor in 1880.

Spies developed a reputation for his violent speeches. In October 1885 he told a meeting of the Central Labor Union that: “We urgently call upon the wage-class to arm itself in order to be able to put forth against the exploiters such an argument which alone can be effective – violence.”

“It’s subtle. It’s not crystal clear. But there is a similarity,” Kengor writes in an email to The Blaze. Still, he adds, “I doubt very much that Frank taught Obama to use the slogan, ‘Forward.’”

“Nonetheless, it’s yet another of those remarkable, striking similarities that seem at least notable.”

And yet another reason why Obama might want to rethink that slogan.

    Here is a Nazi “Forwards” poster. The German word for “Forwards” is “Vorwarts”. I don’t have the umlaut sign on my keyboard, but there is an umlaut over the letter “a”. Bad choice of mottos for Obama! I think this shows more ignorance of history than intention. The Nazis were, of course, National SOCIALISTS, and Obama is more an INTERNATIONAL Socialist.

      When Germans don’t have access to umlauts, they simply add “e” to the letter. Vorwärts comes out Vorwaerts. I don‘t have that problem because I’ve installed the U.S. International keyboard in Windows 7.

      Add to all the allusions the fact that the slogan was announced in the midst of mayday “celebrations” and I don’t think our reading of it is very far fetched.

      Go back and look at the poster enlarged again. the marchers carry red flags for the socialist internationale, not nazi flags. Baracks FORWARD slogan is taken directly from Communist agitprop.

    You know, this idea that the word “forward” is somehow associated with communism is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. I assume most of you realize the association is nonsense that appeals only to the ignorant. It’s the other people that make me wonder about the number of crazy people in the country.

      JZS: Your defense of Obama’s Socialist/Marxist ideology might have some validity if that the slogan “Forward” was ALL there is that points to Obama’s socialistic tendencies, but as we all know it’s not.
      His Father and Mother were socialists, his mentor FMD was, his close friend, and Ghostwriter, Bill Ayers certainly is….Shall I go on???….TOO many coincidences for me….Besides his socialist policies prove to me that Obama is a SOCIALIST/MARXIST….Your Capitalist friend, VB

      Again I must ask, are you here simply to mock and ridicule with your Alinsky tactics?

      Or are you actually trying to accomplish something that you feel might help advance your ideology?

      Are you trying to win hearts and minds?…If so, your social skills are lacking. Your demeanor here usually displays your contempt for us, and tends to annoy and anger people more than anything else. You certainly don’t seem to make any friends or score many points for your team.

      So all this would lead me to believe that my first observation is the correct one, which makes me wonder what a trained psychologist might say about your personality traits.

      What kind of personality makes it a daily ritual to seek out the people he feels superior to, with the sole intent of trying to impose his supposed “intellectual prowess” on them through mockery and ridicule?

      One thing for absolute Pres. Obama would not be using Churchill as part of anything he does! So you can eliminate that one. As for the other, Wisconsin, they wouldn’t tie him to a State with a Repub Govenor whom they are trying desperately to boot out. So yeah, I guess you have no argument.

    Eric Holder must be taken out of the Justice Department and then those who have worked to overthrow this Republic must be tried in a court of law and subsequently jailed and sent out of the country if it is possible to do so. Eric Holder is stringing this thing out as long as he can to help Obama get re-elected. Those who have the power to do so must prevent this from happening. They will steal the elections if they can to keep this farce going. None of them needs to even work for the Government, let alone be in a position to make polity or yield power. All those who work for the U.S. Government should give an oath of allegience and if they are lying, they should be tried accordingly. All people who work for the U.S. Government should be cleared as being loyal to this country. It is priority.

    “Brave forward Workmen.” Who the heck is working, not many, it seems. If they were not out on the streets they could be working. This is a bunch of bull crap dreamed up by those who want to live back in the 60s like criminal Bill Ayers and his criminal wife. These people should be ashamed to show their faces on American soil. These are Obama’s friends. Get Obama out and clean up this country, now. Obama should be impeached or recalled (whatever you do with an ineligible man who is sitting, playing President.) Holder should have been fired years ago. Obama should never have been allowed even in or around the WH, as many of his friends and acquaintances should not have been. These people are not fit to even live in this country. Send them all away to prison and later out of the country. We owe them nothing.

We can thank our local retards posing as congressmen/women who have let everything slide under the guise of this petty mess of politically correct silliness. It was a push to see how stupid people are to allow themselves to be conned into having their freedom of speech taken from them. This should never happen again. There should be obscenity laws to keep people from being nasty and vile in public speech because it is right to do so. People who have no wish to remain clean in their speech, should not corrupt the ears of those not wanting to hear filth. People are not using their God given brains in order to appease those who are totally ignorant in the law and those who are not ignorant, but using the law to push and test. Clean them all out and up.

    I blame congress for allowing this piece of ineligible humanity to be in our WH. What does congress do all day long on our money? They are supposed to be guarding this country from the onslaught of what we are going through with this person. Some of them, all of them, in fact should know everyone who is a potential candidate for President and make sure these people are who they say they are and they are fit to serve.

    I saw liberation theology when I lived in South America in the 70‘s and 80’s. It was disruptive, violent, and diabolical, just as OWS is now. Do NOT underestimate what these people can and will do! It is based upon Communism, just as Obama’s ideology and mentors are.
    Today, Marxism has taken over nearly all of S America. Only Chile and Columbia have managed to resist, and that’s because of their own histories of having to battle socialism and Marxism. Marxism has now taken over Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivian, Argentina, and Brazil, in various degrees. Their people will languish in misery as a consequence! It has destroyed every civilization it has ever touched!

    This “Move Forward” from Ob is an excellent example of marxist, socialist, communist, leftist, progressive DOUBLE-SPEAK. If he says “forward”, it means BACKWARDS. How far “back” does he want to go ?………the gulags with his band of “czars” or just back to a communist form of slavery for all people ?       Sounds like he is a bit tweeked and immensly bitter. He has no ( or so it seems,) capacity to form deep relationships. His dreams are what he is trying to live at everyone elses’ expense. His looks have carried him a long way, but they are diminishing with time and his true character is being seen. What he has left are his empty eyes, empty speeches, lies and blame games to fall back on. He has nothing with which to move forward because he has given it away to those who wish to do harm to this country. He has given away a great stewardship like no other in the world. He sits in the seat of the Greatest Country in the World, and is attempting to funnel away our resources to those who would use them to anniliate us.

    Barry has to make a comment soon regarding his ‘new’ slogan…he is getting hammered in the press/media about its double meaning and historical usage by the Socialist/Marxist nutcases….his spin will be legendary….but he will probably have his Carnival Barker Jay spin it for us….either way it should be as amusing as watching him give ‘shout outs’ to himself in Kabul…
