Any large crowd is going to leave some evidence behind of what kind of event transpired.  That was certainly true of the 8/28 “Restoring Honor” rally.  Here is just one picture from The Conservative Lady:

At the very least, we can be thankful that the crowd showed some respect for our veterans by not trashing, say, the World War II Memorial. Excuse me? Oh. I take that back.

    That;s really sad…..and what’s so very sad is that it was so very predictable.
    Everyone knew that the grounds would be full of trash and disrespected after this event…..when one is living in the “handout mentality” I suppose it is all about what one can get, not what one can give…or give back.
    I keep hoping that maybe this time I will be wrong and that these people just have a different point of view, and that there is room for all of us….and it’s all good…call me naive, a softy….a dreamer…but I’m coming to realize that, no, it’s not all good ….and some folks are just ignorant and dumber than ropes……and maybe even a bit worse than that.

    Since this “ rally” was to massage Obama’s ego , Obama should clean up the trash his worshippers left behind.
    He can borrow orange jumpsuits and trash-bags for a day for himself and his bitter-half and Pelosi and Reid, and call tomorrow a “ day of service ” and make it into a nice photo-op for himself .
    And the best part ……FLOTUS will get to show off some expensive outfit and sneakers .
    The mall and war memorial get cleaned , so also his image.

    It just breaks my heart. Cardboard or not that’s still the American Flag just tossed on the ground in the garbage. That same flag that gives these people the right to hold their rally. They have no honor or respect. I still have a hard time with people wearing our flag as a garment or as a slogan on clothing. I guess it shows when they never had to fight to defend it and everything including liberty is just handed to them.

    8/28 – Conservatives gather at the national mall. Nearly 500,000 are in attendance, but the media reports crowds of less than 100,000. When the throngs depart, no trash is left behind on the grounds.

    10/2 – Liberals are ordered by labor unions to gather at the national mall. Less than 100,000 are in attendence, but the media reports crowds of more than 500,000. When the dregs depart, trash litters the entire grounds.

    The media may live in backward world, but we know the truth. Conservatives show up of their own volition and leave the place better than when they arrived. Liberals don’t show up, even when forced, and those few who do show up leave the place in worse condition than when they arrived.

    And they want to run the world.

    God help us all.

Truely shameful. And, just like people who are “hoarders” [i.e. the show “Buried Alive” on Discovery}, who’s homes reflect an outpicturing of what is inside of them, the turmoil that they feel; these liberals reflect their turmoil, their hatred and their utter envy in the trash that they leave behind. The Tea Partiers left the place immaculate, as “clean” as the word of God, and the desire to restore honor to the country. Very telling.

    Whenever I’ve witnessed my children, nephews, or grandkids discarding litter on the ground, I’ve made them take a 2 mile walk around our neighborhood with me, picking up every scrap of litter. They are always amazed at how many bags they fill, and it makes them so angry at litterers that I’ve never caught any of them doing it again. Good parenting makes a difference. I think the littering at the liberal‘s rallies is their subconcious way of calling out for the ’nanny state’ to be more disciplinary and less coddling. They’ll never admit it, but it’s really what they want because they know they need it. They’ll call me delusional, but truth is – that growing ‘up’ doesn’t come from growing old… it comes from overcoming challenges – especially the challenge of taking full responsibility for oneself.

      AMEN to that! These people are those that never truely matured mentally and emotionally. They may be adults, body wise, but never achieved full maturity. The need to have others “take care” of you or “provide” for you is a child-like desire. When you become a true “mature adult”, you don’t want anybody to interfere with your life! You WANT to be independent, and make your own decisions! I run into these folks every day and it is just not understandable, illogical, because we look at the body and age, and “assume” that the brain and emotional state “matches”. IT DOESN’t!!!!

    You have to keep in mind that a good portion of attendees were “required” to attend by their union bosses. Not that it is an excuse to litter, but….. Also, as far as the numbers of attendees, does it even surprise anyone that they are saying the numbers are greater? Really, what the heck does that even prove? Those attending by force, and those being bussed in with their travel paid by others I would not consider in part of that count. The honor rally were hard working Americans, some sacraficing their last dime to attend. Not even a close comparison. Apples to Oranges.

    It’s a particularly sad commentary with the ruinous treatment of the World War II Memorial. There is no respect for history, the past, or the thousands of thousands who died fighting for the freedom of the world.

    I think if I had gone to this, I would have been sickened seeing such an important place so trashed.

      It is sad for those misguided souls that are unfamiliar with the concept of personal responsibility. Far too many are comfortable in the chains of government. I too hope they will wake up, and some are, but as they come out of their slumber, I think important to ‘teach them to fish’, as it were. The ‘us vs. them’ game is a trap and a distraction.
      That being said, the difference between the mess left yesterday on D.C. versus what was left behind after 8/28 is what gives me great hope. I was at the 8/28 rally. The way I see it, Beck was sowing seeds in fertile ground. What seeds were sown yesterday? Angst, fear, envy? Just sayin’

      This (to borrow a term from good ol’ nancy) was one of the most “astro turf” organized things I’ve ever seen in my life. It was a complete joke.. from the hip-hop/rap music to almost fitting trashy mess they left behind. I do know there were probably a handful of people that *thought* they were there for a good reason.. but I hope they take a real good look at the aftermath and see how they are being used like pawns in a large scale assault on our civil freedoms.

      I watched to observe so that I could verify for myself and not rely on the press. My worst concerns were confirmed. Socialist, Unions, Communist, Social justice activist all marked by color coded T-shirt regiments from their respective faction. It was sad and getting sadder for them because they operated just fine in the shadows but have exposed themselves for who they are and I believe the traditional democrat is going to scurry from this association with these progressives.

      Mr. Citrus . . . this seemingly simple issue is critically important to understand: This is not just a political war; nor is it being fought on only one front. This is a cultural war that has been building to a head for well over fifty years and is being fought wherever Liberalism has infiltrated our democracy.

      Historically, a case can be made that this cultural socio-political fight has been underway since the founding. But for now, understand one side is fighting the other with every means possible, which includes fabricating realities and creating false images of benevolent intentions that are only meant to destroy. Know that all this is taking place for one simple reason: Liberalism knows it cannot seize America without deception; it cannot get the numbers at the booth that it needs without it.

      But take note, and for example, their actions and all their movements, always wave flags of unity but at the expense of eliminating their opposition, not compromise with it or find shared values within it. “Unity” to them is the end that justifies all the “means;” that on the surface, always appears to be a benevolent quest, and is, to the liberal faithful; but in their notion of “unity,” you, us, we are to be silenced, eliminated. It is the only way they see they will achieve the goals that they seek.

      And then, in other words, Liberalism has branded itself as one thing while acting as another. But feigning benevolence is only a small part of the case against them. Their ideology sets out to destroy all that gets in its way, socially, culturally and politically. In that, understand that socio-political issues will overlap and therefore share a relative and great significance. Observing these issues must take place and in the proper context, in the proper frame of mind; as in seeking truths always stands as the foundation of all contexts, of all perspectives. Only through honesty can perspectives be wholly shared; it’s the only way that unity can be attained pure and free of disadvantages. Liberalism’s idea of “unity” seeks none of this.

      The value of the images being posted here is found in their collective message. The images reflect the deceptions that permeate from Liberalism; they are deceptions that until recently have not been easily seen because of the nature of such things as cultural conditioning; something Liberalism has been patiently orchestrating for decades and perhaps centuries. The GOP needs to figure that out. And staying centered on the foundation of truths then, this “conditioning” is most accurately defined by stating it as being a re-conditioning as American culture has been consumed by Liberalism’s gluttonous presence at the feeding trough we call Liberty.

      Know that in a simple way, these images stand as a metaphor of good versus evil and serve great purpose because of their simplicity. Perhaps not so simply, they unequivocally show how deception and hypocrisy benevolently enter a room and what is left when it leaves . . . It puts on display the America Liberalism strives to create . . . desensitized to chaos, disorder, disgust. It’s all there.

      What did we expect from THEM? Of course THEY would leave the mall in worse condition then it was in when THEY arrived! That is what THEY do, make a total and complete mess out of everything THEY put their hands on!!! THEY show NO respect for anyone or anything!!!

      I had a feeling they’d leave the place like this. No Respect. Who just tosses their garbage like that and walks away? What sort of example are they showing their children? You go to a place, you have your rally, then you clean up your mess on your way out. It’s just COMMON SENSE! And btw, the crowd was no way near as large as the 8-28-10. No matter how they tried to make it appear. And I never saw on the main media any of those Communist, Socialist, Marxist signs. They only chose the ones they thought were appealing to their side of the story. Typical.

      I don’t think this article is petty. Rather, it is emblematic of the progressive mindset which is all about taking rather than giving. I’ve been taught that small things say a lot. The photo with the American flag and the jobs posters in the trash says it all to me about the priorities of the coalition of nuts that attended this rally. With this freak show behind us, its on to the polls In November for the real clean-up in the Capital. The crazies have had their day: now we get ours.

      MrCitrus, try to stay on topic. The comments are about the trash on the mall. Our Mall. If you believe This site should conform to your version of how it should be, start a thread about it. If you have a thought about respect,littering,slothlike behavior,entitlement, forced attendance, or astroturf…..I believe it will fit right in.

      Well the people who clean up the Lincoln Memorial, the Mall and the WWII Memorial are all members of a government workers union.

      All these people did was scratch the back of their fellow unionists. Of course, many of these people’s Public Housing Projects look worse than this. The WELFARE MEMTALITY does not breed respect, it destroys it.

      It’s a question of ATTITUDE. Those attending Beck’s Rally are hard working folks of high moral character, and they were responsible for themselves. They picked up their own trash and showed respect for our nation’s capital. Those attending this 10-2-10 Commie Fest are not in the habit of taking any initiative to do things for themselves. They dump their trash because they expect someone ELSE will clean it up for them. They want the government (aka TAXPAYER) to bail them out over and over. They won‘t take responsibility for their own actions because it’s ‘not their fault’. We have heard it over and over. It’s the same SOB story — they are the victims and we are the perpetrators. I saw some C-Span coverage of this rally and there were a lot of LONG frowns amongst the crowd. I got the impression that many of them were bored and uninspired. You see…it’s a question of attitude. These folks have no idea how to be really happy! I don’t think it would be a good idea to underestimate the damage that these people can still inflict on the USA. They are not about to give up, even if this rally was a big fat flop!

      Agree, the 9-12 gathering at the mall was left spotless and 8/28 same story. When obama was sworn in there was seven tons of trash left and these are the folks that want to save the planet? I don’t think they are good stewards…

      How did these people get a permit to hold a rally ?I was at 8/28 with my teenagers and they made sure everyones trash was placed in our bag. RESPECT is what I have taught my children at a young age and it holds true to this day. I thought the Mall looked like something from another country after their rally. It was a disgrace how they could walk away from their own trash. Thats what they talked also..Trash
