Oops? Obama Opens ‘Class Warfare’ Speech By Greeting Texas…But He’s in Kansas

We’ve all seen spoofs of bands who greet their adoring fans by declaring how great it is to be in their city, only to make a mistake and name the wrong city. And if you haven’t, today President Obama gave an example while delivering his “class warfare” speech in Kansas. The question now is: Was it intentional?

National Journal, which doesn’t seem to think so, explains:

While giving an economic speech in Osawatomie, Kan., President Obama said, “It is great to be back in the state of Texas.” Watch as he quickly corrects himself.

According to the video, Obama brushes it aside, even acting as if it may have been intentional. His prepared remarks, though, show he should have said “Kansas.”

Still, the almost instant reaction from the president did seem rehearsed, and The Hill calls the comments a “joke.”

You decide:

What do you think?

      Obama’s mother (anarchist Annie as her teachers referred to her) was born in Kansas. Obama’s made many comments about his ties to “the folks” (his euphemism for “fly-over” Americans when he’s not calling them bitter, gun totting, bible-thumping bigots to $2,500-a-plate liberal elitists in San Francisco) because of it. This was another example of the self-absorbed, elitist- liberal Obama homogenizing ordinary Americans into one big stupid lump. Just like he called Hawaii part of Asia when Obama grew up in Hawaii. Just like he referred to “corpseman” Rashard while his wife has been active with Americorps and he should have known how the word is spelled and pronounced. Obama’s an empty suit..a construct of his keepers. I’m convinced this is why Obama keeps his college records hidden, not just because his leftist philosophies would hurt him..but that he’s just not very bright at all.

      Mr. Beck made the same mistake on his radio show. After criticizing the President on yesterday’s show for giving a speech in the same town as Teddy Roosevelt, he said today he thought was in Hawaii.
      It was probably some failed comedy bit. Mr. Beck either needs to hire new writers or at least prepare for his show before airtime so that these increasingly frequent faux pas don’t happen.

      Obama is not infallible, but this was clearly a joke. The man is a lot of things, but being poor at speeches is not one of them. He is very intelligent, well educated, and extremely well spoken.

      Maybe it’s so easy for the media to jump over Republicans because they actually make blaring mistakes. Palin can see Russia from her house and that’s her foreign policy? Perry wants to cut 3 government agencies, but can’t remember what they are? Cain never acted inappropriately towards women… except all those times when he did.

      First of all, she said something very similar. AND I QUOTE [in reference to Russia]:
      “They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land, here in Alaska”

      And that was her response to the question “What’s insights into Russian actions – particularly in the last couple weeks – does the proximity of your state give you?”

      HA!

      But fine, I have many other Palin quotes that reflect a similar ignorance. How about this one about Paul Revere:

      “He who warned uh, the British that they weren‘t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh by ringing those bells, and um, makin‘ sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed.”

      Ringing bells? A fight to keep our guns? Warning shots?

Tell me..what’s it like…what‘s it like to know you’re looking at stark incompetence like Joe Biden‘s but you’ll completely ignore him…a vice president of the united states with what’s clearly delusion or lies and has NO, NONE, ZERO grasp of the seriousness of the job situation in this country- to know all this- and you still will defend it. Palin’s quote regarding Paul Revere is accurate. There’s a very well written book by David H. Fischer called Paul Revere’s Ride which I highly recommend. It details the the frustration the British had in occupying Boston, especially knowing that many citizens were armed. The Battle of Lexington / Concord was an attempted secret mission by the British to take the colonists stores of guns and ammunition from their Concord storage location. It failed due to Revere finding out ahead of time and alerting the militias of all the nearby towns to come out. No cell phones back then, so the primary way he awoke the citizen militia was getting people to ring the local church bells. Firing a shot from a gun also worked to wake up the minute men.

      @AvengerK

      I clearly said in my post that Obama is not infallible, the man has flaws and everyone accepts that. However, when compared to previous presidents and ESPECIALLY when compared to the Republican candidates, there is really no comparison.

      There is the idea among the Republican base to elect candidates that seem like “normal” people. Well guess what, I don’t want a normal president. I want a smart president. If I wanted someone to be president that is as error-prone as myself then I might as well just run for President and get it over with.

      Trying and failing is better than flip flopping. One thing Obama has done very little of is change his story. Iraq, Health care, Gay rights. It’s obvious he has made a heartfelt effort to keep his word. Whether or not he was successful on each endeavor, or whether he did “enough”, is another matter and one that is up for debate.

      @shock and awe

      You are dumb for believing any of that. Palin’s comment was given such scrutiny be the media, history scholars, and school children because it told a story that NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

      Her recantation of events is so blatantly false that Wikipedia was forced to lock the page about Paul Revere because her fanatical following kept trying to change it to mesh with Palin’s fantasy.

      You want to talk about psychotic base of followers? Right there is your definition.

      Obama is clearly too stupid to run for president, as the MSM has already laid out the guidelines, he doesn’t know where he is and is lacking the intelligence that it will take to make the tuff decisions. The look on his face seems like he might be suffering from headaches and menstrual cramps, that also is a disqualifier. I heard from an anonymous source that he sexually harassed a woman 15 years ago. And he belongs to a church that isn’t mainstream, therefore a cult. He is also a flip-flopper and hasn’t clearly stated his policies.

      Oh wait, we are talking about Obama and not all the Republicans, wait, most of what I just said relates to Obama, except for the harassment. Well if that is a disqualifier for a candidate, why isn’t he disqualified, all he has done is failed for 3 years. I guess the entrance qualifications for white candidates are just higher than the ones for black candidates, oh wait, he is half white, I guess that is the half that is failing.

      By the way, he has that look on his face because Lemmywinks just found his way out. (google it)

      When I was younger I used to rearrange the furniture while my husband was at work, he‘d come home and start to sit in a chair only to find it wasn’t there. If the staff moved furniture in the w h , would he even have been there often enough to know?

      Correction, these are the things we focus on for some “Comic Relief” from the fact that millions of businesses have failed due to his failed policies, millions of Americans are out of work or only able to find part-time work while their energy and food prices sky rocket due to his policies and war on energy producers and businesses (yes, farming IS a business, and due to carter & clinton’s policies, family farmers had to become BIG business to survive, and now make enough to pay his millionaires taxes) and the ows crowd and supporters make us wonder if we‘ll still be a sovereign nation if he’s re-elected and can continue to FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE America!

      Definitely affirmative action student. This guy couldn’t write or speak his way out of a bag. His book is fourth grade level writing and he had to get that edited too. No wonder there’s nothing of his in that Law Review. And write a speech? Fuggedaboudit!! He thinks he’s so cool, just watching his arrogance on that video makes me sick. He has lousy speechwriters, they should all be fired. Sorry, I think he’s a lousy speaker, he‘s just a cheerleader and he can’t even do that off the top of his head. They make fun of Sarah Palin? Are you freakin’ kidding me? Corpseman, breathalyzer, “wait a minute, I’m getting there….” The guy is a flipping moron. You’ll never see his grades anywhere and if we ever did, you know they doctored them. He’d be lucky to be an average student. When he was at Harvard they were searching for minorities to come there.
