Oprah’s Newest Favorite Thing? Charging $1 million for 30 Second Ad!

Talk Show Queen Oprah Winfrey is slated to ride off into the syndication sunset on May 25th, but she‘s not going without filling her saddlebags full of sponsor’s cash.
According to reports filed today, a 30 second spot on the last show will cost $1,000,000. That‘s more than sponsors shelled out for the series finales of hit prime time shows like ’24‘ and ’Lost.’ (If you were wondering, ‘24’ sold spots for a paltry $650,000 per :30 while ‘Lost’ managed to score $900,000 per spot.)
After the finale airs, Oprah will pack up all of her old tapes and shuttle them over to OWN, the eponymous network launched last year.
For the record, the Obamas will NOT be guests on the finale, but they are making an appearance in the last month of the Oprah broadcast era. First Lady Michelle and the President will be taping a very special episode of the Oprah Winfrey program on April 27th, with a scheduled air date of May 2nd.

Sadly, when I learned just how bigotted and racist she really was; through her own words, ideas, show topic on occasion; I turned her off long ago. It didn’t surprise me one bit when she started working fervently to back Obama against all rational thinking. I can only wish her an unsuccessful career for her future, for the good of the country.

Is she a little full of herself for naming a cable network after herself? Sure, but who in that medium isn’t? Love her or hate her, she is indeed a savvy businesswoman. It will be interesting to revisit this to see how many spots were sold for her finale.

When MILLIONS of viewers were writing in for Oprah to have Governor Palin on her show, Oprah refused to respond – and it went out over the Internet – questioning why Winfrey was not jumping to celebrating another woman in power – as her avowed mission to celebrate every women in power.
Oprah finally had to respond, but her response showed even more of her character – “I WILL have Sarah Palin on my show – but not until after the presidential election.”
Big Fat Oprah Winfrey went down in history as a BIG FAT RACIST.

I just recently finished watching on DVD the last season of Lost and looking back it seemed almost prophetic except for the fact that in the show the evil black smoke monster never got off the island and in real life the evil black smoke monster in now a puppet for Soros in the WH.

I have stated this before. Common sense only dictates that most advertisers are not going to run ads on a show that is highly controversial to approx half of the population. (Albeit the stupider half) It’s just not good business.
Likewise, I would not advertise American Flags, history books, or copies of the Constitution on MSNBC, NBC, CBS, or ABC. It’s not smart to p*ss in to the wind. (Which is what you do every time you post here)
But hey, the more time you spend in here, the more time you are not out there doing something unproductive. (Like chanting childish rhymes in a commie protest)
