Oregon Congressman Urged to Get Psychiatric Help

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A newspaper report says aides to U.S. Rep. David Wu were so alarmed over the Democrat’s erratic behavior just before the November elections that they urged him to enter a hospital to get psychiatric treatment.

The Oregonian, citing interviews with a number of anonymous staff members, reports on its website Friday evening that Wu was increasingly unpredictable on the campaign trial and in private last fall.

The report says several aides and a psychiatrist confronted Wu about his behavior three days before the Nov. 2 election.

The newspaper says the 55-year-old Wu declined to be interviewed for the story. But his office provided a statement late Friday with the congressman saying he hasn‘t always been at his best with staff and constituents and that he’s sought professional medical care.

Based or erratic behavior, almost ALL the Democrat politicians should go to the hospital for treatment. Remember, liberalism is a disease. Had this Congressman been a Republican, this would have been splashed all over the lamestream media and lampooned on SNL, Maher, Maddow, etc. It is just assumed that Dems will act crazy. No biggie!

A glimmer from the past…perhaps it was Timothy Leary’s “High Priest,” – who can be sure when it comes to that great Ivy Leaquer? – There was a vague mention of Godsdog, I think in the context of secretly dosing the Harvard Law faculty with massive quantities of LSD in their espressos. One cannot be sure, but perhaps that explains much of the folly and poopery in Cambridge today.

Not in this congressional district, the voters have spoken; this part of Oregon is controlled by Californicators. We used to have a sing at the border with Cali years ago. It said “Enjoy your visit, but Don’t Stay”. It’s long gone as is the entire Willamette Valley.

I did my part last election cycle, anti Wu yard signs, hell I stood on a over pass sporting a NO WU banner. My neighbors haven’t talked to me since and we have this guy represents us.

In spite of having lost the respect and admiration of “thinking” progressives, the people of Oregon’s 2nd District continue to demonstrate the wonder and mystery of modern public education by electing this arrogant dunce.

We really shouldn‘t be making a laughing matter out of Wu’s suffering. It does sound like he was a major jackass to folks, but I’d bet my life he was in a state of extreme mental anguish at the time. We don’t want to stigmatize mental illness, afterall we want folks who may be suffering to come forward unashamedly to get help. It is simply brain chemistry that can go awry from time to time and it doesn’t discriminate on the basis of political affiliation. The right medication can get him back on the path to his communistic ways in not time.

For some staffers, the beginning of the end was Wednesday, Oct. 27, when Wu delivered a belligerent and rambling 19-minute monologue to Washington County Democrats that some in the audience said was inappropriate for the friendly crowd. His behavior left staff members aghast.

That Thursday, on a downtown Portland sidewalk in front of Central Drugs, several staff members pleaded with him to get into their car for a private intervention. Wu refused and took off on foot. His campaign staff could only watch helplessly, afraid what their candidate might say or do.

They returned to the campaign office and sent the few remaining people home. He later called in his employees and reprimanded them for blowing things out of proportion and accused the predominantly female staff of being overly emotional, sources told The Oregonian.

On Friday, Oct. 29, Wu attended a fundraiser at which U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was the featured guest. Wu tried to get Sebelius to talk to his children on his cell phone.

That evening, he talked his way through security at Portland International Airport in order to meet his young children at the gate, only to solicit votes from passengers as his kids skipped ahead, according to a report filed with Port of Portland police. Later, the duty manager was reprimanded for letting Wu past the security checkpoint.

In the early morning of Saturday, several odd messages written from Wu’s private House of Representatives e-mail address were sent to some staffers, all female, with still others copied on them.

One message was written in the name and voice of Wu’s son. “Cut him some slack, man. What he does when he’s wasted is send emails, not harass people he works with.”

What does it say about the guy then six members of his senior staff resigned just after he was successfully reelected?

Wu recently gave five million federal dollars (our dollars) to a Swiss company ReVolt http://theportlander.com/2010/04/29/revolt-technologies-lands-5-million-in-federal-funds-before-it-moves-to-portland/. on the promise they would locate in Oregon and produce electric car batteries.

What did we all get for our 5 million…… A vacant store front with a phone line near the airport . Oh the company ReVolt, they are trying to develop hearing aid batteries; Did you “hear” that David?

      Quite impressive Mr Wu.

However, even more impressive, Mrs Wu at a local fast food restaurant as she spends 15 minutes dressing down (in broken English) an employee for being a lousy surf. Make no mistake it’s clear who this district belongs to… The Wu’s. If the Mrs wants to block an intersection while talking on her cell phone, in a SUV with WU custom plates, she will.

There are many “government officials from local to federal levels, whom hold power over “we the people” Granted, we gave them the power, however they still hold it. Current events in New York and now in Washington have our attention. “We the people” are paying more attention to those elected officials than ever before. I for one see something that is just not right. Some of these elected officials seem to be ….. Let’s be civil here….a brick short of a full load, a little off center bubble, a few screws loose, totally loony, etc. Let’s be honest here, a large part of the legislation being proposed, voted for, passed into law, is just plain insanity. The fiscal items being passed lead this state and country directly into bankruptcy, any third grader can clearly see this.

The political class consists of many people from all walks of life, ages, mental capacities, morals, wealth, education, etc. These politicians mirror the ruled class, and in the sense are in the most basic terms, “they are humans too”. As humans they are susceptible to the same afflictions are other humans. In any human population there are a percentage of people who will develop mental illness, dementia, Alzheimer’s and many other types of brain deterioration caused mental disabilities. One should also consider other types of physiological disorders such as narcissism, megalomania, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, mad cow, etc.

So with this in mind so to speak, I ask the following questions

Do any of you readers have any knowledge; of a politician being removed from office due to a mental disorder?

Do any of you readers have any doubt that there are current political leaders in this country that have serious issues?

Not convinced yet, may I help you recall a recent event, Ted Kennedy? Ted was a senator who had a terminal brain tumor, he was a senator to the last hour of the last day of his life, and was ready to vote for the health care bill if needed. Could one make a case for mental diminished capacity?
      Absolutely!

If you want to see other insane leaders look around the world, how about IRAN. Do you think the USA is immune from our leaders having mental disease?

Please point out which one is Superman, how about Superwoman?

Of course, any quips regarding the intrinsic illogic of Socialism and socialist policies wouldn’t be complete without quoting Margaret Thatcher; “The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

I don’t get what you are saying. Sorry, I have had cousins, uncles who have yelled about how unions are the way, the Rich need to pay, and everyone should get a “fair” share. I moved out on my own at 17, I have put myself through school with no Govt. assistance, and built my life to where I am, with no help but my own. So, I can’t see where capitalism is bad, I yearn for competition, I always say, “Bring it on”, I know I can out do anyone at anything. That is the problem, I hear a lot of people keep saying, capitalism is bad, the little guy doesn’t have a chance…..I started out with nothing, barely living paycheck to paycheck, but I earned my way up the food chain. If the little guy can’t, then, sorry, clean toilets for the rest of your life, if you got a pair, and you apply yourself, you can be something than a burger flipper. If you wan’t to blame everyone else for you lot in life, you are a LOSER, get in line for your free cheese, and don’t complain when it makes you constipated. Just grin and bare it.

I live in David Wu’s district. In an earlier election, David Wu admitted to raping a woman when he was in college. Despite this, he was still elected. You see in Oregon, the ends justify the means, It does not matter if someone is a sexual predator as long as you agree with their politics. The same is true for the current mayor of Portland Oregon, who had homosexual sex in the men’s room of city hall with an underage intern. Yet, because he was a progressive, he gets off scott-free. Anyone capable of rape is, by definition, mentally unstable. Wu’s breakdown is as predictable as the Sun rising in the morning.
