O’Reilly Breaks Down Iowa Caucuses, Says Obama Would Beat ‘Outlandish’ Paul Like Barry Goldwater — ‘By a Colossal Margin’

Back from vacation, Bill O’Reilly dedicated Monday‘s Talking Points Memo to the GOP field currently making its way through Iowa and delivered his predictions on how each of the candidates will fare in Tuesday’s caucuses. While “The Factor” host said he believes Rep. Ron Paul will do well and perhaps even claim a victory in tomorrow’s showdown, he is certain the Texas congressman will not claim the ultimate Republican nomination because his positions are “too outlandish” and President Obama “would beat Mr. Paul by a colossal margin.”

“Hello, Barry Goldwater,” O’Reilly then quipped.

O’Reilly went on to paint a grim picture of Paul, stating, “he has spent 23 years in Congress and only one of his proposed bills have been signed into law,” adding, “Mr. Paul has sponsored 620 pieces of legislation.”

In addition to breaking down the chances of each Republican hopeful, O’Reilly also extended an invitation to Rick Santorum, addressing the former senator’s recent suggestion that the Fox host had purposely been snubbing him.

O’Reilly, who claims he had yet to invite Santorum on his program due to the candidate’s previously low polling numbers, stated, “we tend to avoid campaign segments unless there’s a media controversy.” Now that Santorum is performing better in the polls, O’Reilly said, “we have invited Rick Santorum to appear on Wednesday.”

Fox News Insider  adds:

While O’Reilly said that he expects Romney to do well in Iowa, he doesn’t believe that Newt Gingrich will finish within the top three. [...]

O’Reilly ended the memo by making it clear that he wouldn’t predict who would win tomorrow’s caucuses, saying, ”Last time around I predicted Hillary Clinton would beat Barack Obama. A humbling experience.”

The Factor host also talked about presidential contender Michele Bachmann’s chances in the Iowa caucuses.

    I don’t care how many pieces of legislation someone has sponsored or passed. What is this, a scorecard?
    That said, I think O’Reilly is right. Obama would squash Ron Paul like a bug! That’s why the HuffPo has been suggesting, and Paul groupies are passing it on, that Dems and Independents should switch to the GOP for one year, just long enough to distort the Republican primaries toward Paul. Then, they can slaughter Paul and the GOP this fall. Prominent Paul “fans”, as they are calling themselves, in my area are recommend this to those who “love” Mr. Paul. One of these very prominently isn’t a member of the GOP either, but is recommending this dishonesty to his own very large follower base in my state. Mr. Paul and his fanatics are being used by Obama, and they don‘t even realize it because they’re blinded by the light of the Second Anointed One (Paul) in four years.

      All this conjecture about who can debate Obama. Why? How big of a deal is it really. Most voters already have their minds made up. What‘s there to debate if it’s Obama vs. Ron Paul, or anyone else?
      I think all you have to do is look for Obama bumper stickers. They’re pretty scarce these days, lol. It‘s almost like a lot of people who voted for him couldn’t scrub clean those stickers off their cars fast enough. Much like rape victims who violently scour their bodies after being assaulted in an attempt to erase the feelings of being violated.
      I don’t even see the need for a debate with Obama. But I guess, for entertainment purposes, it would be fun to watch Obama have to defend his 4 year term without a teleprompter. LOL!!

      Fine with me. If Paul is the candidate, no matter how he gets there (without distorting his views to suit the crowds) – then we will see where America really stands today.

      Is it for a huge and ever growing Federal Govt that can’t pay its own bills – or a right-sized Govt that we can afford?
      Is it for endless undeclared wars that deplete both our funds and sons and daughters – or national defense of our own country, such as on our own borders?
      Is it for non-stop money printing presses and devaluing the dollar – or sound money?
      Is it for resigning the constitution as an historical artifact – or actually following it and it’s amendments?
      Is it for the increasing police state “for our safety” intrusion into our lives – or restoring liberty?

      My thought is – honestly – we need to divide the country. Most of the interior states want the later, and the left and right coast states want the former. Why but heads and fail with moderation – maybe it’s time to just go our own ways and see who wins in the end?

      As an Independent, who only registered Republican to support Paul, I can tell you this – I will only vote for the Republican if it is Paul. I have no stake in the Republican party, and I really disagree with its foreign policy of war – and am disappointed that Obama also supports this policy. I reluctantly voted for McCain in the last election, and have regretted it since, despite his loss – especially with his role in authoring the unconstitutional provisions of the NDAA that essentially repeal the Fifth Amendment. I will not make that mistake again.

      None of the other Republicans have convinced me they are for free markets (preferring instead to rather ignore economic issues, strangely), much less my other concerns. Romney called himself a progressive in 2002. Gingrich is just plain batty. Bachmann seems to want to go to war with Iran over hypotheticals – and so does Santorum, who also endorsed Arlen Specter when he was still a RINO. As a temporary Republican, it’s Paul or nothing for me. Perhaps you long-time Republicans should pay heed. Or at least stop saying our vote doesn‘t count because you don’t like the guy we pick.

      Ron Paul is the only one that would take votes away from obama! he doesnt need the neocon voters. Imagine that. The true conservatives take back the republican party!! and then the country!! then the progressive agenda is dismantled and the U.N will suck wind just to have it blown back at them when they try to push their global development carp on the USA.       As a military veteran and having served overseas, I think Ron Paul’s foriegn policy makes a lot of sense! We need to prepare for the 3rd world war as fortold in the Bible.     I don‘t watch the O’Reilly program any longer for the same reasons I don’t pay any attention to Hennity and the rest of the hacks at Fox and all the other TV un-official aficionados who make their living buying into the crap they tell themselves. I‘m older than O’Reilly. I make my own mind up, I don’t need people who are paid to move their mouths telling me what to think, what to do.       After taking the time to actually learn the truth, I can’t stand them anymore ( or none of the other networks )

      I too like the Judge! I go online and whatch him when I can. This has put the nail in the coffin for faux news for me. I used to watch them alot, when Glenn was there, but now they are, IMO, no better than any of the other hack media. Rush has been a pompous dairier for a long time, no big surprise there. To think, I used to consider myself a republican, is now an embarrassment. I am only it for Paul now.

      Where is the Patriot News? Where is the unbiased reporting of facts these days. I don’t even click on half of the carp the blahzay puts up anymore. Most of it is useless drivel. Very disapointing, I had such high hopes for this site. I hope they fire the progressives on the staff soon or you’re looking at the next failed media site. Time to clean house Glenn.

      Where are the stories about real Americans helping Americans?

      This is their strategy. You heard it here first. They will continue to attack and marginalize Dr. Paul allowing Mitt Romney to take the high road building him up and acting like a gentleman in the process. I bet you will never see Mitt Romney wholeheartedly attacking Dr. Paul in this primary.. Why bother when you have FOX News to act as your attack dog.

      There’s no way that I vote for anyone but Ron Paul in 2012… No way! Not happening this time.. If I could go back in time I would not have voted for Bush Sr, GWB, and I sure as hell regret that I voted for the ultra Neo-Con McCain!

      I am speaking on a national level. Last time I saw the results it was like Obama vs Paul was 42% to 41% and Obama vs Romney was 41% and 42% (or something close to that).

      I live in Missouri and I can tell you that most Iowans I know are ticked off at romney because he has not been there to defend his positions or compete in the state whatsoever other than the state fair. They feel slighted and taken for granted by the so called leader of the polls. I personally think they have been making up the poll results! Then again, I do not ask for party affiliation, but I know the majority of them have bad words to say about romney and will not vote for him.
      romney doesnt stand a chance in Iowa against Ron Paul.

      Rick santorum is a fraud and they know it. he has made promises he can not keep to every side of every issue in Iowa, changing his tune to suit the audiences desires. I doubt he finishes in the top three, but then again, there has to be somebody to come in third, maybe romney?

    I certainly don’t consider Mr. O an authority. I disagree with him much of the time. But, I feel Obama would beat Paul. Paul would cave in the debate realm with Obama. I will vote for anyone but Obama, in any event or result of the primaries.

      I’ve seen both men speak in debates and Paul has trouble. The debates between Obama and the GOP nominee will be seen by folks who don’t follow closely; the specifics of politics. If they see a floundering messenger, it will cripple the message. No crystal ball needed, facts are facts.

Obomba wants to take everything from as many private citizens as he can and RP wants to stop it. Where is the debating point there.       I would prefer that there were no rebellion but if I had to choose, i would rather see the youth fighting for freedom than for the totaitarian/fascist/socialist/communist agendas. I would urge the rebellious youth to hold tight to the promises of the constitution and the freedoms thair parents didnt fight for on their behalf. They will be the victims of the regime that emerges if there is no correction to the direction we are going. They will be the freedom fighters rebelling against the establishment of the totalitarian/fascist state being prepared for us RIGHT NOW!! They will be the ones that will have to pay with thier blood, sweat and tears for the deviation from the truth of freedom and the indescretions of their impotent parents.

      They stand to lose more than any of us posting here. They stand to lose not only the freedoms most Americans take for granted they stand to lose their futures in a sea of beauracracy and overbearing government controls.

The pretty boy who will not touch the federal reserve.     What a The talking clowns are still trying to pick romneycon…it’s glaringly obviuos the only reason romneycon has ANY support is because ALL the MSM cheerleads for him…And guess what, tjese talking heads get paid alot of money to keep up the charade for their plantation owners..The same ones that own the msm are the ones that want the same corruption to continue..Is it any wonder all these clowns carry their water when a paycheck is involved?

      Fair? No. Fair would be for O’Reilly to point out how tirelessly Paul has worked to get the other of members of the US House to adhere to the US Constituion. Fair would be to give Ron Paul credit for having the courage to uphold the US Constitution with every vote he casts despite the unpolpularity of so doing.

      Yes Fox do have an agenda, Fox is as corrupt as MSNBC trying to shape the way people vote. Although Santorum is not the guy I’m supporting, he is a good man and the only person I could support other than Bachmann. Paul is a guy I have no respect at all for. The way he treated Bachmann and Santorum on Letterman proves how low he will go to get a cheap vote, the guy’s a liar and a dirtbag. He denies ever knowing about his racist newsletter ..yea he owned the freakin paper for decades and didn’t know what was published in it?? Sorry that lie won’t fly. Not only is his ideas crazy, but he is too old and he looks like a very weak man in every way. Bill was right, dude have “ZERO” chance of being nominated. Michele Bachmann is the true Tea Party constitutional conservative, Ron Paul is a true liberal…

    Rush was talking about this a while back, how every Republican has looked at Barry Goldwater’s defeat with severe consternation. Thus, there has not been a strong, non-progressive candidate to run for office since then, with Reagan as the only caveat. (But he won by a landslide, GOP. Hint hint?)

    The reason LBJ beat Goldwater was simple: Great Society programs shifted the black vote to the Democrats by buying off their loyalties with anti-poverty programs designed to instill “social justice”, a clever and misleading term for left-wing progressive agendas.

    1964: LBJ won 94% of the black vote, a record unbroken until election year 2008: 96%

    But I stand beside Ron Paul.

    Ron Paul: Cut spending now!
    Republicans: Cut spending soon!
    Democrats: Cut spending if things improve!

    What has Paul ever really accomplished that mattered in 23yrs?…..Nothing!
    He can’t get anyone in congress to sign on to his goofy bills.
    No one takes him seriously except a few “loons”. As O’Reilly might say………………..

      Lol. Sometimes you post things that make some sense, but then…… it’s posts like these that sound more like the thoughts of a Rationalizing Man.
      I could see how a “rational man” could misunderstand this notion so baddly. Every claim that Paul hasn’t accomplished anything during his time in congress only proves the point that constitutional constructionists in congress are vastly outnumbered by cronyists. It also adds light to the fact that much of the legislation that is passed in congress is unconstitutional and/or laden with payback amendments to their PAC donors/bribers.

    You know, the Lord asked of men to build an Ark so that the Lord may dwell with men. Now, that Ark wasn’t actually supposed to be a object like the one that was built long long ago, but it was to have been a nation, a nation where Liberty would exist with laws to protect the freedom to worship, and to live. Because, then no matter what, someone may at any given moment be worshiping the the true God, even if most of the people were wrong, someone would be right. A nation, a place like the United States once was. It seems to me that an ongoing existence in sin, is far worse than committing a sin from time to time but then correcting the error of one’s ways.
