O‘Reilly Scolds Media for ’Convicting’ George Zimmerman on Television as Al Sharpton Tries to Convict Zimmerman on Television

Two polar opposite reactions to new evidence in the Trayvon Martin case surfaced tonight on Fox News and MSNBC. On Fox, Bill O’Reilly told Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump that “it’s wrong to convict anybody on television,” referring to the premature reaction by many in the media to the Martin story. And despite being the Martin family advocate, Crump actually agreed with O’Reilly on the subject, saying “no extreme is good” while still pointing out that there are holes in the case which makes Martin’s killing look suspicious.

Arguably, Crump was more of a prop in the segment, as O’Reilly spent much of it slamming the media for its premature behavior and sensationalism regarding the case.

“That’s what’s wrong with the media in this country: no longer to facts matter; accusations are enough to condemn folks. The press wants a story and doesn’t care who gets hurt in the process,” O’Reilly said. “No media observer knows exactly what happened the night Trayvon Martin was killed.”

Yet while no one in the media knows exactly what happened, at least one media observer thinks he knows – namely, Al Sharpton. Referring to the recently released police surveillance tape of George Zimmerman being escorted into the police station, Sharpton claimed Zimmerman looked anything but like a man who had been beaten “within an inch of his life.”

Sharpton described Zimmerman’s side of the story as “crumbling” and asked two experts he’d invited on the show to comment on what the surveillance tape shows. Both experts agreed that they didn’t think the video showed the sort of injuries described in the police report.

      Ruger, The irony is you spelled accurate wrong. The fact is Sharpton is a race baiter – his show on MSNBC is not even viewable – you want a headache – try watching just 5 minutes of his show.

      CNN had a witness who did not see the altercation but speculated on it anyway. He admitted it was dark but he said there was no wounds on Zimmerman and that he was on top of Trayvon. He didn’t see the shooting but they were on grass, not pavement and the yells were Trayvon’s. Of course this is contrary to the two witnesses that actually did see the altercation, that said Trayvon was punching Zimmerman, that Trayvon was on top, and that Zimmerman was yelling for help. But that doesn’t fit the narrative – a witness that didn’t really see much but makes speculations is worth talking to because he fit the narrative. Facts don’t seem to matter in this case – I guess I missed the funeral when journalism died.

      I also noticed many of the witnesses being displayed by the MSM are embellishing their testimony and even changing it to better fit the narrative. In court a good defense lawyer will chop them up and spit them out – the problem I see is getting a fair jury – Florida is not known for their intelligent juries and with mobs screaming for justice and threatening violence otherwise, who would be willing to put their necks out if it is proven Zimmerman had just cause for his actions under Florida law.

      The media especially NBC/MSNBC has flat out “LIED” and twisted the story so that any facts are under shadows. Posting a mug shot against a boy of twelve years old. Have they told the public the “boy” was now 6′3″ and the man was 5′9″? no they haven’t. I hope the people inciting this hate get their “JUST” rewards. I will wait till ALL the facts are out before deciding.

      stand down and not to pursue Treyvon. The boy lived in a gated community for one reason to be safe.
      He had just come from a 711 where he purchased skittles & an Arizonia Drink and he was innocently returning to his home instead he lost his life for no reason. This could have been anyone’s son.

      The first timeI can remember Reverend Al in the spotlight involved a girl named Twana Brawley.
      Remember that. He had several completely innocent men tried and convicted and never apologized when the truth came out.

Do not forget Eric Holder will have to be replaced and maybe some of the Justices on the U.S. Supreme court before this can be done.       There have been a lot of questions about how obama visited Pakistan during his time at Occidental since his U.S. passport was issued many years later. Passport …Birth Certificate…Where born…..does not matter….IF Obama Sr. was his father…then he was born with DUAL CITIZENSHIP and is NOT eligible under the U.S. Constitution to be potus.

      Something bad was going down and there could have been more hiding for all Zimmerman knew. It is rare they do not run in packs when dressed like that or are waiting in hiding. Zimmerman would have acted totally differently, I believe if Zimmerman had not felt threatened and been treated with some courtesy by the Martin kid, it would have given him time to realize the kid was not out for trouble. People are causing their children harm by allowing them to listen to others who are using them to promote their agendas with this attitude they are displaying when not needing to cop an attitude.

      Who was on top in an isolated moment does not determine who was the aggressor in the confrontation. Trayvon Martin may have been defending himself. All we know is that George Zimmerman shot an innocent, unarmed teenager. Give George Zimmerman his day in court. But to do that you first have to charge him with a crime.

That would be against either Zim or Martin or both. Since there was a shooting and a death both of which Zim confessed to and gave some form of reason for. The reason must have held enough weight to delay an arrest though he was processed (actually he was probably arrested just not charged I’d need to look it up but thats probably accurate). Now IF the detectives believe there was wrong doing the burden of proving guilt falls on the police NOT Zim to prove he’s innocent. The police are either building a case or there is no case to build but NEITHER has been said. Anyway just charging him and then forcing him to prove his innocent isn’t the way it works. If it was clear cut he’d have already been charged. And to think the cops are “in” on this and that its all a conspiracy against the black man like Sharpton thinks is wrong also. (no you didn‘t say that I’m making another comment). Hope that helped. Oh and I get what you’re trying to say about the state prosecutor, however I state again. There is either not enough evidence and no charge or they’re building a case either way you have to wait and see.

    Al Sharpton’s own hate speech has lots of innocent blood on his hands. He has deliberately incited the murders of numerous white people, especially Jews. At least every few months he incites his followers to do harm to my friends and to my family. The President himself has warned us that whenever a demagogue spews hate, innocent people die. There is already a lot of property damage and several ruined lives. The sad part is that he despises his own followers, knowing that many of them will die in senseless violence. He is just another egotist who somehow feels aggrandized by his life as a failed revolutionary.

    The only way this will be solve is in a court of law. A million dollar trial and all the evidence shown on the table at once. What is out is but a sliver of what there is. If the investigators had intended to charge they would have taken pictures of his injuries to show they are not there. But when the prosecutors saw the same photos they saw the injuries and knew it would be hard to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he did not fear for his life when he demonstrated his second amendment.

    When the autopsy and ballistic reports comes out at trial or after grand jury will the truth be known. The full CSI treatment will be done but, the crime, investigation and trial is not done in 47 minutes. It will not be resolved for two plus years one way or another.

      You still don’t get it…George Zimmerman has STILL not been arrested and charged with a crime. There can be no trial and no justice until then. George Zimmerman is still a free man, with no pending charges agaisnt him…and he still has his gun. George Zimmerman should have been charged with manslaughter or negligent homicide on the night of the murder just as Detective Serino wanted…but he was curiously overruled by a state prosecutor. Charge George Zimmerman and I’ll sit back and wait for justice…until then everybody should be raising hell about this.

      Hey, dingbat MARINE…the cops DID want to arrest George Zimmerman. The chief investigator, Detective Serino, in particular…but they were mysteriously overruled by a state prosecutor…who normally doesn’t even get involved in the arrest process. Why don’t you learn to read, moron…?

      BTW, Det. Serino is the one who questioned Zimmerman…and one of the reasons he wanted to charge Zimmerman was because he didn’t believe him. Zimmerman‘s story didn’t add up…the prosecutor never even met George Zimmerman.

      CHIPS1…I stand corrected on that point…that Zimmerman’s gun was taken into evidence by the police. That has just been cleared up by the Sanford police in the past day or so as I understand. But, again, that reinforces that the police wanted to charge Zimmerman all along…

      This will not be ended by a press conference saying that the evidence does not warrant an arrest with trial and he is a free man. Only a trial with a open and methodological production of all evidence will this be solved. This will go to some type of trial. If not criminal court it will be civil court.

    So a two british tourists are murdered in Florida, and where was President Obama and the State Department with that one? Why no where, it would seem that when a black man kills two unarmed White men, and that were not even citizens of this country, nothing gets said, business as usual. Makes one Wonder. At the very least President Obama should have called the parents, or sent a telegram offering his condolences but he didn’t. It could have been that neither of the White British Tourists would have looked like President Obama’s son.

    There are more evil violence spread during evening hours. A black man with hoodie walking in a gated-community in which he did not live in cannot be “followed” without cautious. That’s what George has been paid for, isn’t that? Would you walk in a bank and still wearing hamlet or head mask? You wouldn’t do that. I truly truly do not buy racism theory on George. If I walk in the downtown I would avoid any black who wear hoodie on! But even as sure as I feel about this case, I would not walk on the street and cry out justice for “George.”
    If all the evidences indicate George Zimmerman did kill Travyon by his skin color, then let the justice serve. Please let the court decide! I am calling for justice in court!!!

    I turned on the local 10pm news just to see how the local Florida media was covering it .. they STILL say Zimmerman was not attacked .. .even though it has been proven he had wounds on the back of his head and WITNESSES to the attack .. they are going to get someone else KILLED!

    Nobody ever claimed Zimmerman was beaten within an inch of his life.
    The way these people just make up their own facts then rail against them is almost comical.
    They uses words like “Chased” “hunted” “stalked” “confronted” “vigilante” and “attacked” without a shred of proof.
    What is worse is that there are witnesses who tilt the facts in his Zimmerman’s favor and they just disregard them and go right back to their own version because it works better for them.

    Sharpton is a vampire who feeds of incidents like this. He is in his glory and never wants it to end. He has made a career off of peddling blood and anger.

      You have to be facing a pretty serious beating or a gun in order to shoot someone. The point is that George Zimmerman did not face serious bodily harm and therefore is not entitled to claim self-defense.That should be decided by a court…but Zimmerman has to be charged first before that can happen.

      He only needed to be threatened with one.

      Sounds like the kid had a “catastrophic breakdown of his victim selection process, which left him cooling to ambient temperature.”

      If so, you are allowed to defend yourself!

      We all know if we defend our self or loved one we are going to be hand cuffed and taken to jail. Because every lawyer knows we all deserve our day in court. Which in reality could be years and more money than a good lawyer can spend on a short vacation while it completely destroys our lives and our families. We finally wind up having to raise the assailant for the rest of their lives. Hell we need someone to protect us from all the thugs and the Lawyers.       Let me get this straight…..lumbar says “the point is: the shooter was not in fear for his life”?? Only other place I have heard that comment was on MSNBC by Screaming ED!! I guess they expect us to believe them, as they were at the scene. All other witnesses, for or against, actually at the scene are lying?? I live in Florida, under these laws and our law enforcement community. I have lived all over the world and the states in 69 years. I would/will trust our LE types if they arrest him or not with doing what is appropriate and ignore the “stuff” (kind word) that posters like lumbar state as fact when it should be obvious to all that they (lumbar) does not know what he/she/it is talking about. Funny, why doesn’t he/she/it know this??? The police (not political or racist in their interests) would/will arrest the shooter only if they have evidence he committed some sort of crime. Not the case so far, and lumbar might not (obviously does not) like this, but, here in Florida our LE types operated within the (our) laws and pay little or no attention to the “mungers” of all and any stripe.
