O‘Reilly’s HATE Question — Was It Out Of Line or Even Rare?

As most folks were Monday Morning Quarterbacking the Super Bowl commercials and the actual game, the news channels spent time on Bill O‘Reilly’s interview with the President. MSNBC‘s Morning Joe seemed to be less concerned with some of the very telling comments as MJ’s house mother, Mika Brezezinsky focused on manners and the propriety of Bill O‘Reilly’s questions.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Perhaps Mika had gotten a text message from former speaker Nancy Pelosi who was also wondering about the appropriateness of that question (as reported here yesterday).

And maybe, just maybe MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell was also bcc‘d on Pelosi’s message because he too mentioned ONLY that question;

Most memorable question of the night? O’Reilly asked, “does it bother you that so many people hate you?”

O‘Donnell’s blog also counted how many times the President was interrupted by Mr. O’Reilly.  (They claim it was 40.)

For the record, asking a President how they feel about the people who hate them is nothing new to Bill O’Reilly.  Back in November of 2010, O’Reilly sat down with the former President asked how he felt about being hated by people in the media as well as others.  (The hate topic starts about 9:00.)

It is curious that a major news channel is more focused on the reporter’s comportment and not the content delivered to the audience.

It was a fair question. There ARE a lot of people that hate Obama, I’m one. I didn’t hate Carter, I didn’t hate Clinton. Those guys were just politicians with whom I disagreed with. Obama is something different, he is an enemy of capitalism and American exceptionalism. He wants to bring America down several notches if not altogether. Therefore, I hate him.

I’m glad there are people willing to say that they “hate” Obama. I like the reasons that you cited. Polls always show that people like Obama as a person but hate his policies. I hate his policies and the man because he deceived the public and continues to do so. He hates America as you stated and this is clear from his actions. We’ve never had a Prez like him before and I hope America wakes up, does it’s homework for the next election and not get caught up in hype again.

      Why is that?

Remember – Obama is a member of the same party as Alan Grayson.
Besides – between Behar, Maher, Matthews, Olbermann – the left has been teasing the right into a bad mood. Then add Obama/Pelosi/Reid bullying tactics and their disregard for the constitution or the economy – and whatelse would you expect.

Besides – this isn’t “violent hate” – it’s “informed despising”.

Maybe that would have been a better way of putting it . . .

“Mr. President, why do you think so many people despice you and your political accomplishments?”

    PERFECTLY FINE.

Obama lives in a fantasy world (ie. “the nation is split evenly on repeal” – latest poll 58% against, 37% infavor – in a presidential election this would be considered a historic landslide).

He needs to know that after 2 years of working with Nasty Pelosi and Whorey Reid – where this trio passed (shoved) ObamaCare down the throats of a majority of Americans, and their ramroding of the Financial Reform package (without addressing FreddieMac/FannieMae) that most Americans have recognized a socialistic/facist trend (GM, gulf-oil drilling etc).

O’Reilly is a puff – who “stops the buck on his show but doesn’t have the toughness (fragile ego) to really take a stand. He’s so worried about looking “balanced” that he can’t be a consistent source of insightful ideas.

But on this – O’Reilly – stepped up and showed America – that Obama is not to be feared.

For that – I thank Bill – but won’t expect much for the next month as he bends over backward to show that he has total respect and even admiration for Mr. Obama (the dumbest man in any room he walks in to – attributed to Rush Limbaugh).

I think the premise is wrong. The question should be, “What did asking the question accomplish”. Or maybe, “What’s the fallout from the question?”

My problem is that it makes it sound like first, a lot of people hate him personally. Second, it implies it’s those who simply disagree could be the haters rahter than a few on the fringe. Third, it’s devisive by its very nature,

It was a stupid question. Who cares? I don’t care how he feels about being hated. I care about the state of the country, period.
The question was only good for stirring up angst and more accusations of racism. Just stupid.

No celebrity are politican or President has EVER been bothered by negative press the way this character has.Even the left talk about that and knows that is not true. Then he said he was NOT wanting to redistribute WEALTH,,,,,,I think if I were interviewing him and he said that I would have had a Joe Wilson moment and said “you lie”. In the things I have read the left is not happy about him saying that because they know that is not true either. As for the ‘Hate’ you question I think Bill phrased it that way for Shock and to get everyones attention.Although there are a lot of people who do hate him..I hate what he is doing to this country, and we have never had a President that was ashamed of the country before, nor have we ever had a Muslim sympathizer,or one that would purposely go against the will of the people on every issue. We have never had a President that we fear can destroy our country and our lives like we know this man is capable of and has every intention of doing so.
