Ouch: Paul Ryan’s Favorite Band Compares Him to Charles Manson

Paul Ryan, apparently, loves the sound of the rock band “Rage Against the Machine.” Too bad for him that they really don’t like his sound — at all.
Why? Because “Rage” is one of the more openly Left-wing bands in America, and no one fits that description better than the band’s guitarist, Tom Morello.
Granted, Ryan has already said he likes the band’s music, but ignores the lyrics (which are about as blatant in their Leftism as you can get), and that makes sense. Still, Morello’s op ed today on the subject of Ryan has to hurt. The most scathing excerpts follow:
Paul Ryan’s love of Rage Against the Machine is amusing, because he is the embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades. Charles Manson loved the Beatles but didn’t understand them. Governor Chris Christie loves Bruce Springsteen but doesn’t understand him. And Paul Ryan is clueless about his favorite band, Rage Against the Machine.[...]
Don’t mistake me, I clearly see that Ryan has a whole lotta “rage” in him: A rage against women, a rage against immigrants, a rage against workers, a rage against gays, a rage against the poor, a rage against the environment. Basically the only thing he’s not raging against is the privileged elite he’s groveling in front of for campaign contributions.
You see, the super rich must rationalize having more than they could ever spend while millions of children in the U.S. go to bed hungry every night. So, when they look themselves in the mirror, they convince themselves that “Those people are undeserving. They’re . . . lesser.” Some of these guys on the extreme right are more cynical than Paul Ryan, but he seems to really believe in this stuff. This unbridled rage against those who have the least is a cornerstone of the Romney-Ryan ticket.[...]
My hope is that maybe Paul Ryan is a mole. Maybe Rage did plant some sensible ideas in this extreme fringe right wing nut job. Maybe if elected, he’ll pardon Leonard Peltier. Maybe he’ll throw U.S. military support behind the Zapatistas. Maybe he’ll fill Guantanamo Bay with the corporate criminals that are funding his campaign – and then torture them with Rage music 24/7. That’s one possibility. But I’m not betting on it.
Now, an uncharitable observer might remark that if this band really does believe that a convicted murderer of FBI agents should be pardoned, that a separatist, paramilitary, Leftist army should receive United States support, and that corporate leaders deserve to be tortured, it might indeed be wise if Paul Ryan found a new favorite band. Megadeth would probably be willing to fill the void. It also might be noticeable that for all his youthful bluster, Morello is actually six years older than Ryan, marking this as more of a “get off my lawn” moment than any sort of rage against the old and powerful.
However, to be fair to Ryan, when a band has lyrics like this, it probably would be difficult to ascertain a coherent message:
With the sure shot, sure to make the bodies drop
Drop and don’t copy yo, don’t call this a co-opt
Terror rains drenchin’, quenchin’ the thirst of the power drones
That five sided fist-a-gon
The rotten sore on the face of mother earth gets bigger
Tha triggers cold empty your purse
Watch the video for this charming ditty below (WARNING! COARSE LANGUAGE):
However, at the end, fans of metal can take comfort in one significant fact – at least Paul Ryan’s self-proclaimed favorite band wasn’t System of a Down.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 10:50pmI would like to see a comparison of the money rage has given to the poor compared to Ryan. Taxes do not count it goes to the elite in government so they can live large and not work. What little they give in welfare of the total goes mainly to the criminally lazy and the really poor people get little or nothing. I have known many poor people and most have self pride trying to make it the best they can. They tend to not lie and ‘play the game’ for benefits causing those who deserve the most to get the least. Ryan is a decent honest and sincere man and every point held against him by rage is a lie.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 11:32pmWell, this is what happens when rich, elitists try to pretend they can identify with the average American. It’s like Romney trying to say “y’all“ or saying he likes ”cheesy grits” or otherwise act like he somehow, in some way, identifies with the average American. He doesn’t.
He doesn’t get it. He doesn‘t know what it’s like to be poor. He‘s never had to try to decide whether to spend the few dollars you have on feeding his family or for buying some new clothes for his kid so they won’t be mocked for wearing rags to school. He doesn’t get it.
You guys get it. You’ve had to make choices and not how to invest your money. You’ve made hard choices about how to spend your money. Romney doesn’t have that experience. He was born to privilege. You think he understands you? You think he understands people who have even less money than you?
His plan? Cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires. That’s how much he understands you.

This is a fact. Liberals do not do non-government charity. You say you understand the poor and yet none of you give to them. Do you have any idea how much Romney voluntarily gives to the poor? Here is a hint…..Millions of times the amount that your God and president gives. Liberals are the most selfish losers on the planet.

To a Bolshevik, if you don’t like something, then that’s all you obsess about your whole life. But a conservative can separate issues. You can like U2, but not agree with their politics. You can like Rage Against the Machine, but not like the individuals who make it up. Conservatives can think on a larger scale than small minded Bolsheviks. The only thing Rag against the Machete should be angry about is some fake dude occupying the White House-who wasn’t even born in the US.

@JZS: So I guess a moderately rich Biden telling an audience with about 50% black people that Romney will “put Y’ALL back in chains” while using a fake accent is his way of showing he can relate to the average American, while implying either way he would not be in chains…
Or maybe rich Obumba can relate to the average American after getting his education paid for by rich extremists? Or by playing excessive amounts of golf? Or going on a bunch of lavish vacations, all on the taxpayers’ dime? Yes, I feel that I can relate to them soo well!!!
Funny, I’d like to ask Obumba about his “Muslim faith”, I mean, his alleged “Christian faith.”

Report Post »I read lots of Liberal Marxist cr@p in college. On my own, I read a lot of Conservative books. It’s Marxism vs free enterprise, but there’s a lot of spillage across the party lines making the parties almost irrelevant.
Marxists Liberals keep blaming free enterprise for their lack of success. The rich do it for popularity. They’re all misguided by the Progressive propaganda that has been developing since Roosevelt and Wilson. The propaganda was altered over the years mostly by FDR and the hippies.
Obama likes Marxism, but he must lie over & over to justify his ideas because Marxism makes no sense! If they were honest, they would lose elections and they know it. We have to get the Republican Progressives out of office to help make the Marxists obvious to people. The Tea Party began ridding them in 2010, but we have a long way to go.
Hippies cried, “Power to the people,” but as soon as they got into positions of power, they became more corrupt & dishonest than the people they hated in the first place. They’re destroying the economy & freedom, then like a 5 year old, they blame someone else. We’re like the parents that see the crumbs on the face of a child saying, “I didn’t do it.” Naughty Obama! Posted on August 18, 2012 at 11:35amIt is humorous to see Encinom/JZS mocking Ryan for Morello’s words. You would think that in America it would be a positive to be condemned by a band whose lyrics include, “Your bowing down to the flag, You got a bullet in your heard,” or “instead I warm my hands up on the flames of the flag,” or “The land of the free? Whoever told you that is your enemy.”
It didn’t bother Liberals when Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, or Supreme Leader Gadaffi endorsed Obama’s election so why would Ryan being rejected by one who dislikes America be of any different?
Morello is missing the elephant in the room. Rage fans are drawn to their music, not political message. That was a pretty big source of frustration for De La Rocha. He thought their music would make a significant difference and usher in changes in political arena…it didn’t. On the other hand, it sure does sound good.

THEN you go on to name the top four “LIBERAL” philanthropists, the top two of which were, wait for it, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates!?! Hey, genius, don’t you know that those two “LIBERALS” are also the top two RICHEST MEN IN THE FRIGGIN’ WORLD? So, big guy (or gal), when did you realize that our whole discussion here today is due to your GUITAR HERO Tom Morello having written a scathing op ed about Paul Ryan (a fan no less) and justified it by claiming that: “…the super rich must rationalize having more than they could ever spend while millions of children in the U.S. go to bed hungry every night. So, when they look themselves in the mirror, they convince themselves that ‘Those people are undeserving. They’re . . . lesser.’”
And aside from that, those two men’s “liberal” bona fides are in question, big time. Warren Buffet worked as an economic advisor for a Republican Governor (and up until the time of his wife’s death was a polygamist) and Bill Gates oversees one of the most ruthless of monopolies (Since their inventions, every piece of a computer has gone down exponentially in price except one, the operating system, which has actually gone UP in price!)

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 9:07pmProblem is Ryan isn’t really in favor of small government or freedom. You’d think Rage would be on his side. Perhaps they didn’t check his voting record.

I haven‘t researched Ryans’ voting record to date. I do know that we need a reset button to remove this current administration from power. I doubt that Mitt Romney nor Paul Ryan has a desire to see that America becoms subservient to other nations.
At least they believe that America is strong and should remain strong. In my view anyone or anything is better than what we currently have in the White House. If you think that there is no difference in either candidate and have no qualms with seeing Pres. Obama re-elected then what can one say.
I would hope that if Mitt Romney should defeat Pres. Obama that will buy us some time. If not then there is no going back in time. Pres. Obama is already ruling by executive order and if he is re-elected then that will signal to him that he can do anything he so desires.
You are either on board with this or you really need to re-think your position.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 9:55pmA Marine and Veteran was just taken away by the FBI and Secret Service and stuck in a mental institution. His crime… posting patriotic messages on FB. It isn’t just the left that is responsible for allowing this to happen. The guys running for president on the GOP ticket either vote for or support this. That is a fact that can’t be disputed. Am I supposed to be happy that the republicans are conent to let this happen?

yet you post ‘His crime… posting patriotic messages on FB’, without knowing what he really posted. He could have posted anything and neither you, I nor his mother know the truth.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 11:17pmThose weren’t my words. I’m really only guilty of not putting quotation marks around that statement. This really isn’t about the subject of his posts, however. It’s a freedom of speech and due process issue unless he posted a direct threat. If that was the case the burden of proof should be on the government not his momma to proove his innocence, no? His FB page has either been deleted or taken down.

Not your words, but you had no problem repeating them, because it fits your agenda. Maybe he did post a direct threat and yes the burned of proof would be on the government. If his FB page has neither been deleted or taken down, then you can go look.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 11:35pm@Justme, I really don‘t see a substancial difference between Obama and Romney with exception to Romney’s tough guy rhetoric, which concerns me a lot. As for the executive orders, I’m quite disgusted by them, but let’s not forget the Repubican congress funded all of his enforcement agencies, and I really haven‘t heard too many R’s complaining about those EO’s except for a little bit on the immigration. Not a peep about the marial law EO‘s he’s signed though. But really that’s what everyone has to keep in mind. The 2010 house could have defunded Obama’s ability to enforce anything.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 11:57pm@justangry, Hardly, It’s hard enough to trust your neighbors let alone the Government ( including our savior ron paul :) ). Unlike the two stalkers you attract who put their full faith in anyone as long as the tote the almighty holy R next to their name.
Here’s the dudes facebook the marine, https://www.facebook.com/brandon.raub?sk=wall. I’ve read through alot of his posts, He did make a few threats.. Just goes to show facebook is another way to lose your privacy( That the NSA obviously monitors 24/7).

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 12:02amedit: Not really threats, more along the lines of provocative quotes. Not really aimed towards hurting or harming anyone. Post like severing heads, Revolution, Civil war, 9/11 pictures of the pentagon(after the plane impact.), etc. You know the stuff that gets the DOJ in a frenzy.

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 9:39amLet’s see-Morello was raised by his white school teacher mother in suburban Illinois after his Kenyan father left them when Morello was an infant. Morello went on to graduate from Harvard and actually worked for Alan Cranston (D) for a while. I wonder where his leftist ideals come from?

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 10:29am@Resme, Thanks for the link. I didn’t see anything there that would warrant the response from the government. I don‘t believe many of AJ’s theories, but I don’t think people that fall for his slant on things are crazy. I’ve actually seen worse comments posted on here. I do believe there’s something nefarious going on in the CFR and Bilderberg Conferences. I could be wrong, but I hate to be snatched up and thrown into the loony bin for thinking that.
@TheReal, So what say you now that we know what he’s posting? Clearly he’s been influenced by conspiracy theories, but is that an excuse to snatch him up and stick him in the loony bin?

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 10:05pm@Model, I just spoke out about Ryan voting against he Bill of Rights. You’re the one that brought up Ron Paul. Don’t you care that the republicans and democrats are taking our rights away, or do you think it’s just the democrats that are responsible for this? Why are you so passively allowing this to happen and even supporting it by harassing the folks brave enough to stand up and say it’s wrong?

Posted on August 18, 2012 at 11:29amYes, I know what it means. They fit many of the categories. Except instead of being extremely nationalistic they‘re globalist and it’s not tied to race. Strong centralized government… check. Authoritarian… check. Severe social and economical regimentation… check. Forcible supression of opposition… check. These two men support or voted for the same legislation Hitler introduced after gaining power. How can you say they’re the opposite of fascism? They’re right wing progs… fascist!
