‘Our Values Are Being Destroyed’: Beck Blasts New Fed Farm Rule Plan

The federal government is proposing some sweeping new regulations that will affect how family farms operate in America.  The Blaze has reported on these regulations over the last year.  This week we covered the testimony by Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis before the Senate Subcommittee on Labor, Health & Human Services, Education and Related Agencies, and Pensions.

The regulations and what Solis had to say did not sit well with Glenn Beck.  He spent significant portion of his Thursday GBTV broadcast explaining his deep concerns.  GlennBeck.com describes this as “one of his most passionate monologues since he began to broadcast on television.”

“Because I saw hard work from my father, because I saw him have passion for what he did. Because I saw hard work from my grandfather. Because I saw people work themselves to death I happen to have good work ethic and I hope my kids learn it from me.”

      I grew up in a farming community in the rural midwest. The farm kids were always the best athletes since they were moving irrigation pipes, hay bales, hauling feed bags, and etc. People as young as 12 were allowed to drive farm vehicles including wheat trucks to get the wheat to the grain silos while their older siblings and father were operating tractors and combines. I had a girlfriend who was 15 and she plowed fields since she was the only child.

      Of course these turd bird feds making these rules probably never did an honest days work.

      The submarine USS Thomas Jefferson SSBN 618′s motto was “Hostility against Tyranny”. Seem to be applicable now.

      I Will Not Comply , I learned how to run a shovel , then a jack hammer then a bulldozer when i was 15,16 and at 17 I got a job as a roughneck on a drilling rig and have since put myself through college. I have paid off my home and my land and raised three Kids. I have never received any help from the government nor do i want any. I will not be ruled by any king other than God nor ever by any Government as long as I breathe on this earth.

      Because of Glen Beck people started pay’n attention. He’s the first person who would tell us the truth of what was going on in Washington. I am part of a generation of ranchers. I have a 13yr old son, who loves drive’n in the pastures, chasing cows, playing on hay stacks, and being in 4H with all his classmates. He learns loyalty, honor, pride, good work ethics, and has a hell of a time doing it. If all children had a chance to grow up on a farm, they wouldn’t be over weight, smoking, or drug addicts. Then we wouldn’t have to put up with so many psychotic liberals.

      There’s a lot of rage out there these days, and it’s happening with more than just the fringe of society, though the left likes to characterize it that way. Glenn Beck has always captured the anger a lot of us conservatives and libertarians feel about the government. Civil disobedience IS on the horizon, if the feds don’t pull back on the constant overreaching. The Catholics one day, the farmers the next. Even if you believe it’s a case of paranoia, why is the government going out of its way to feed it? I live in a farming area and the pushback is coming.. it’s only a matter of time.

      You all remember the shows like Bonanza, and Riflemen? Rememeber when the Cartwrights would meet people coming onto their land they didn’t know? They had their guns in plain sight. Holstered, but in plain sight. What about Tombstone? Men carried everywhere openly. So shall it be again.

      O K – I got it, and so do most people on this site understand these upcoming gov’t intrusions into our lives ! Here is the problem ! How many farmers will actually be informed of this ? most farmers i know, work from sun up, to into the evening, come into the house after a hard days work , turn on the local news to get caught up with local events, and then its lights out They never hear any of this ! Most i would guess will find out when these regulations are already implemented and then are informed through some form of a GOV’T AG reg . and rules packet ! TOO LATE !!

    Why have I not heard about this story from any American media? Something seems very suspicious here as to why Obama personally wants a foreign journalist who investigated Obama’s actions in Yemen to be kept silenced in Prison as to keep him from saying anything to hurt Obama. This should be front page and an explanation forced to be given on what grounds Obama has to censor journalists, what is he afraid he might reveal? Could Obama be impeached for unauthorized war crimes?…..There is more to this story, this guy has been solely responsible as to what little information the American public does know what Obama is doing in the middle east.       Of course our family farms are being destroyed. The ANNOINTED ONE and his minions of COMMUNIST CHICAGO GOONS want to control all agriculture. Food can be used as a weapon to control a section of the country which doesn‘t comply with the dictator’s edicts.

      It is quite obvious that Obama wants to award the CEOs of big agriculture companies such as ConAgra and ADM with big contracts to “Supply” food to the masses. Those contracts would be awarded according to the “Donations” made to the supreme one or his party. (May have already happened)

      Furthermore, all farm workers on the big corporate farms would be forced to unionize. The plan is for unions such as the UFW could EXTORT union “Dues” to enrich the coffers of the unions and allow union leadership to live opulant lifestyles while the workers struggle to make ends meet.

      As Glenn pointed out, it’s all about CONTROL. Hunger is one of the best control mechanisms and is useful in controlling large segments of the population. If you control the food – - – you control the people.

      Unfortunately, so much of the voting public is totally unaware of the real agenda and will give up their liberty for “Security” as promised by the Annointed One. America is in trouble but too many people are too ignorant or lazy to research the real liberal agenda. They would rather be lulled to sleep by American Idol, Jersey Shore, Wife Swap, and a host of other inane offerings aired by the Communist Broadcast media.

      I will not comply! I worked in the cornfields of Indiana when I was 12 years old and I made mimimum wage and that money was a great help to our family. I am now 52 and it taught me how to work hard and I am now successful in my life. Hard work is good for children .

Work something she has never done. Work is the basis of education and families work that is why america is great not because of politicians and their hair brain ideas which is what has gotten us into the mess America is in right now.     Barack and Michelle are on their way out of the White House, so we won’t have to worry about them anymore. Although Barack says that “We’re drilling for oil more than ever before” most of us know that it’s in spite of Obama, and because of George W. Obama is anti-fossil fuel, numero uno. Obama has a ridiculous notion that he will make the USA “green” without any transition from fossil fuel to green energy. He’ll just make it happen no matter how many billions it will cost.

    Well, we have all had enough! Let PRIVATE investors shape the next great invention, and use THEIR money, instead of taxpayer’s monies. Please don’t vote for Obama in November 2012. He is bankrupting the USA.

    This seems to be an effort to expand the unions base their by forcing farmers to unionize whether they want it or not. Then unions will control the food supply and with unions in NObamas’ back pocket we will be subject to regulations that force us to eat what ever Michell NObama dick-tates!

      While you may be more right about the trolls than I think, I fear you underestimate the vulnerability of “the average man on the street” to propaganda. By scientific poll of large numbers, more Europeans fear a global warming catestrophe than a financial one. Gobbels had it right for when you have total control, and FDR got the art of mass persuasion down to a fine art. And those were both carried on without computer number crunching help! The North Koreans made a spectacle of themselves, mourning over a leader the rest of the world saw as a monster. With the present liberal media bias openly acknowledged but ignored, how long before we’re spoon-fed nothing but garbage? What chance has the common man against that?       The only problem is that it has already been tried in the USSR. After the dictator, his party cronies and the military got food, there was precious little for the common populace. You may have never heard about the lines when it became known that the butcher shop has beef or pork chops. furthermore, the very same thing is happening in Venezuela right now. Stores which were stocked with goods are now for the most part bare. The Chinese under Mao tried forced collective farms and thousands died of starvation.

      The collective farm model looks good on paper but because of vagaries of human nature it cannot work. No body will try to do more work than the next guy. If anything it soon becomes a contest to see who can do the least amount of work in a given period of time and who can find the best places to goof off without being caught. The Russians used to have a saying: “The government pretends to pay us and we pretend to work.” Only when the Russian government began allowing collective workers to farm small plots on their own and sell the excess produce on the open market did the food shortages begin to abate.

      If the super rich elitests think they can feed the world from collective farms, they have another think coming. they better study their history books. The profit gained by the work of ones hands is the greatest motivation available. Now the government wants to take that away. They want you to work for the state. I WILL NOT COMPLY!!!!

      @Joan K – Santorum being a social conservative as president doesn’t mean squat. He can’t “dictate” laws. He can only sign laws that congress sends to him to sign into law. Period.

      People need to understand how our government works before they get all worked up over one man’s personal beliefs.
