‘Our Work is Now Finally Beginning’: Progressives Claim Victory in Midterm Elections

Republicans may have made historical gains in last week’s midterm elections, but liberal progressives are the ones now claiming victory.

Look no further than the far-left DC-based Institute for Policy Studies — the “ideas factory” behind the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC). As Speaker Nancy Pelosi is having to give up her Speaker’s gavel, IPS is celebrating the fact that nearly all hard-left members of the CPC were re-elected. The notion may seem shocking, but Trevor Loudon of NZ Patriot notes, it’s partially true:

While so called “centrist” or moderate democrats lost hugely, the Progressives lost only three members Alan Grayson, John Hall and Phil “don’t worry about the Constitution” Hare… [T]his means that Obama and the remaining Democrats now have nothing to lose by pushing hard to the left.

Karen Dolan of the IPS is now encouraging President Obama to “do the right thing through as many Executive Orders as we can present to him.”

Did we all miss the news flash? PROGRESSIVES WON! Two significant exceptions are of course the tragic defeat of Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) and the sad loss of prinicpled Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL). But, the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the largest caucus in the House Democratic Caucus at over 80 members, emerged virtually unscathed, losing only three members.

By constrast, the conservative Blue Dog Democratic caucus was more than sliced in half from 54 members to only 26. Further, of the 34 conservative Dems who voted against Obama’s Healthcare Reform, a mere 12 won re-election.

Dead weight gone. Good Riddance. The blame for the stalemate to come can now fall squarely where it belongs…on the anti-progressive, anti-democratic, anti-populist Republican members of Congress.

Our work is now finally beginning. The veil of a happy Democratic governing majority is finally lifted. We didn’t have it then; We don’t have it now. But what we do have now is a more solidly progressive bunch of Dems in Congress and a president presumably less encumbered by the false illusion that playing nice will get him a date with the other team.

Let’s thank Grayson, as well as Reps. John Hall (D-NY) Phil Hare (D-IL) for their principled time in office. Let‘s get Feingold on the ticket as Obama’s runningmate in 2012. Let‘s throw our support unabashedly behind the Congressional Progressive Caucus and let’s push Obama to finally do the right thing through as many Executive Orders as we can present to him.

People…Progressives WON!!! Republicans are all over the map. They‘re a mess and won’t be able to wreak the havoc they seek. We should be energized. We must be energized. Too much is at stake. The road ahead isn’t so bad as long as we have the big picture and the fighting spirit spurring us on. Progressives will be the heroes in 2012. Let’s make Obama one too.

As NZ Patriot warns, don’t dismiss the progressive ramblings of IPS — they seem to have friends in high places these days.  As Loudon notes, IPS is not only a strong voice within the Congressional Progressive Caucus, but has also advised the White House in the past.

“If you want to know what the Democrats will do tomorrow, read what I.P.S. is advocating today,” Loudon writes.  After all, it was IPS staffer Chuck Collins who “recommended that Obama appoint communist Van Jones as a ”Green Jobs Czar”, even before the 2008 election,” he concludes.

The only Dem’s that survived were those hard left. The reason is that they are from “hard left” districts or union shop vote-machine districts. The wave of Tea Party conservatism was not yet big enough to wash away that scum…yet.

Redistricting under the broad control of republican controlled state houses will erode those hard left districts and the Tea Party wave will continue to grow.

One more election cycle…may two…should wipe them out.

If the hard left progressives move further left, then only one more election cycle will be required.

So please…move hard left…it will help our cause.

If I were a ********* I would make Wall Street and GM pay a principle of the tarp money back to the people in the form of a dividend check for as an investment with every American now owning a part of both of them. Then we can either use that money to reinvest or take out dividend in cash or stock.

Progressives are truly brain-dead. I mean, no brain-wave activity. Zero. I know it’s their ideology, and they’ll spin it any way possible to make it sound like they still have a foot-hold. That’s okay. I want them to keep thinking this way. Their arrogance (and policies) caused them to loose, and it’s what will be their demise. This morning, I wrote my own analysis of the tax cuts, healthcare, and Obama. In essence, Republicans (and even more…fiscal conservatives)…are in the cat-bird seat. http://michaelsgrapevine.com/2010/11/08/analysis-tax-cuts-healthcare-and-obama/

Maybe there plan is to use the newspapers over the next two years to paint Repubs as the reason for stagnation and destruction, then put Progressives to run in these areas and then have all progressives and no Blue Dogs. That is even chaos doesn’t break out before then. In addition to the Executive Orders, watch out for regulations from the EPA, FCC, FTC, the Labor Regulation Board, Elizabeth Warren, and Cass Sunsteen.

What is really something to be concerned about is what other nations are talking about right now. This administration has ushered in a phase of hatred , defiance , and anti colonialism that no amount of benevolence in any amount can overcome without violence.

This has been done in other countries many times to overthrow a regime not wanted by the world , it’s being done here now.

There are districts where a Democratic candidate would have to be caught on tape committing an axe murder on the 50-yard line at half-time in the Super Bowl in order to lose an election. (Think Ted Kennedy) Pelosi, Waters, Boxer and a few other far left characters are from such districts. Better to replace as many “moderate” Dems with Reps as possible than to beat our heads against the wall trying to get rid of a handful of radicals.

Makes sense to me, liberals only get elected in liberal districts! The blue dogs that lost were actually more republican than democrat on financial issues anyway, which is why the more conservative districts voted for the republican candidates!

Now, all the new governers need to do is make sure to really get a good re-districting plan made out!

No question. Watch not only Cass Sunstein, but the FCC, EPA, SEC, and don’t forget that Sebelius is in charge of all the new rules that still have to be designed and implemented related to Obamacare.

I‘m in favor of repeal and replace but mathematically that can’t be achieved until after the 2012 elections and the 2013 legislative sessions, so we need to be sure that Obamacare remains unfunded until then.

The progressives only need to break the the final barrier for a complete victory. That barrier is that approximately 47% of the population recieves some form of government assistance/entitlement. If they can break this plain and push this up to 51% then all is lost. The policies that are being put in place will push more people to the dole. When a 26 year old can stay on parents insurance they are not going to vote to cut their own throat. When social security age needs to be raised or benefits cut those people won’t go for that. The muslim that thinks we are restricting them from taking over with sharia will vote progressive every time and them put them to the sword after taking over. The reason that the U.S. won WWII was that as a country the American people were for the most part like minded. We do not have that same scenario now so we must be extremely vigilant.

The only option now is for a small amount of libertarians to take over the democrat party and destroy this little bit of cancer from the inside. To ask republicans to do the job would be impossible, but the libertarian is one who advocate for social liberty’s. If they fight that in public then they would come off as the statists they are.

It would be funny to see democrats in ten years running on free trade and pro liberty. One may think Jefferson rose from the grave to take back his party.

Can’t wait until Beck outs Soros.. that will leave the PROGRESSIVES no where to run… right now they are playing a game.. it’s called DISTRACT.. and it’s not working.. it’s making them look like a horses rear.. even the TROLLS are laughing at the PROGRESSIVES now.. they too know the people are on to them.. they are like the school bully who just got his rear whipped and now is pretending it doesn’t matter or hurt their agenda.. but everyone is laughing at him..
