Out of Control Shower Mold (or Mildew) Creates Alleged Image of Jesus Christ in a TX Home

Splendora, Texas, Family Claims Mold/Mildew Created Jesus Image in ShowerNothing tops off an odd news week like a local report about a moldy (or mildewy) shower spot. Allow me to explain.

A family in Splendora, Texas, is claiming that they’ve located a blotch on their bathroom wall that resembles Jesus Christ. But it’s not merely a dirt stain that looks the Christian Savior — it’s a source of strength and inspiration, at least according to those living in the home.

The story resembles many others like it. Over the years, you’ve likely heard of the oddball religious images that frequently pop up — the grilled-cheese Jesus, the Christ image present on a telephone pole, the list goes on. But this new-found portrait, created as the result of a mold or mildew outbreak, is a bit more grimy and uncommon in nature.

“People say your house is blessed. I see the head, the hair, a cloak,” said Chyanna Richards, who was describing the spot that purportedly shows Christ’s face during an interview with KTRK-TV. ”Maybe it means something. Maybe look into yourself and see if you need to change something in your life.”

KTRK-TV has more:

Regardless of what the exact composition of the Jesus “portrait” is, one thing is for certain: Richards believes that the image comes with a purpose. Already, the family claims that one woman living in the house, who has HIV, is improving since the Jesus image emerged. Another individual, Thomas George, was in prison when the Christ mold portrait began taking form. Now, he back home and claiming that it’s inspiring him to do better.

“He’s just watching over us to make sure nothing wrong happens or I get in trouble and go back,” he explained. ”It gives me inspiration just to do better.”

Gawker predictably poked fun at the story, questioning why a shower was allowed to develop so much mold or mildew.

“Was the mold purposely allowed to grow for months without interference on the off chance it developed into a ShowerSavior?,” the outlet asked. “If allowed to continue flourishing without encumbrance, will it expand to include other characters from The Last Supper?”

Regardless of the issues embedded in the story, the spot on the shower wall certainly does resemble an individual’s face. Whether that person is Jesus and the image was God-ordained — well, we’ll leave that up to you.

(H/T: Gawker)

This is nonsence. If you want to see a picture of Jesus, then read the gospels.

You do not find Jesus in the mold of the shower curtain, in your pancake you cooked for breakfast, the bark of a tree…..

People today do not know what Jesus actually looked like in person (when he walked the earth). One thing for sure, he did not look like the blond haired, blue eyed picture that many european artists made him to look like.

So just because someone can make an image of a dude with a beard, it has nothing to do with Jesus.

have you ever noticed that these generally pop up in heavily hispanic areas?

LOL, Ranger, you need to be temperate! I happen to think that there are many fine Hispanic Christians, and also many of them are Catholics.

And lots of Hispanics serve in the Army honorably, just like you. And they are probably even better in some specialties, like accurate spelling and proselytizing.

Do you have a problem that so much of our military is diverse, and can do things that some white men are not the best at? What do you think about that Cyber attack we have been crippling Iran with?

Could you have done more to save lives and deter war with your posturing and precision small caliber plinking?

Why do you callously dismiss our American POW when you could have been one?

You pack a lot of question in one post, and keep me on my toes.

Yes, my spelling is bad, so is my arthritis in my hands. I should do better in cutting my posts, put into word to spell check, and then post them.

yes, many fine Hispanic Christians, and I have served with many. You will also fine many Hispanics are slaves to the Catholicism in central and South America. Catholicism is not to be confused with Christianity, but yes, I do believe some Catholics to be “saved” (confusing). For the most part, Catholicism is a form of control, just like Islam. In south and central America, it is mixed with witchcraft/voodoo. Thus the reason I believe we see much of this “picture of Jesus in the bark of the tree” sort of stuff coming out of that area.

yes, diversity is great. Not sure where you came up with the “military is diverse, and can do things that some white men are not the best at” comment. I do not see skin color as having anything to do with skills, education, or job accomplishment. Heck, look at all Alan West has accomplished.

Nothing against POWs, just do not believe we have any living in Southeast Asia against their will.

I spell checked this one for you.

Why do you callously dismiss our American POW when you could have been one? Of course you are aware of your comrade Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan in 09. (That was the time frame you were in country, correct?)

Pete, my family spent the Memorial Day weekend observing many many events that had to do with the ongoing identification and return of POW MIA remains from SE Asia as is the direct result of diplomatic efforts by civilians, veterans and Military. At Rolling Thunder, we listened to the passionate plea by Bowe’s young father, who said every day that passes strengthens his resolve to maintain hope that is slipping away.

Rolling Thunder and other Veterans groups, including the American Legion directly support our continuing success at returning POW MIA remains to the families and countrymen, and I for one do not believe leaving behind our dead in unmarked and unprotected soil is respectful to American service members like you who have sacrificed so much.

The Viet Nam Veterans are finally being welcomed home, and you will begin to hear long silent voices, more and more. We are used to being ignored, just proud to have served. But now this is the decade long (May 28, 2012, through November 11, 2025) official United States Commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. I am shocked your base did not get the word.

as for pictures, on earth I agree with you, however I do believe that God shows his glory in the heavens

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament showeth his handiwork.

This is the Glory of God

1 Peter 2:24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.

It’s amazing to me the stupidity of some people to think, the Son of God who none of us in the last 1986
even know what he looks like not to mention would think that God in all His power and creation of the universe would stoop so low as to put His Son image in mold on a bathroom shower wall, come on folks. We are talking about the Son of God, the God/Man who died on a cross for our sins, sinking to that depth. What blasphemy to think the One who created the Universe, the stars, the sun, the planets, and everything that we are from the dust of the earth and who could put His son in “mold” disgraceful….. people that think like this no words can explain. We have God’s word, His Holy word the Bible where he says in Galatians 1:6-9 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel. Which is not another but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an “angel from heaven” preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Major, Thanks for reminding me of your afflictions, sorry to be so picky over your communications skills, and yes I understand the pain of arthritis, but, specifically having to suffer that way at your young age! Well, it must drive you crazy.

When supporting targeteers like your Australian artillery commander friend, it was drilled into us to be precise in our spoken language and teletype messages (back then there were no word processors), because bad coordinates or imprecise terminology (especially between cultures) increase battlefield risks.

      G. Gordon Liddy often states he owes his precision speech to his days as an Army artillery officer, and I live near retired pilots, aviators and gunnery officers who share this ingrained habit over the decades.

Maybe grammar and precision are not an issue anymore! Things must be different these days, receiving and sharing tactical terrain information in the field. Are you trained in the regular Army state of the art? Do you think the future combat systems program helped soldiers in the field or was it a waste of billions of our dear taxes? I read about a citizen who even today mails smart phones and GPS units to individual commands to beef up their ability to communicate. How could that be?

Arthritis cannot be cured, well, maybe not right now but we can hope. Anyway, if it gets too bad, the Army possesses the world’s best pain management wherewithal, so you should be in good stead as an active duty officer selected

the Army does not fund the promotion party, the person getting promoted pays for it. I opted to not have the party, and even skipped the ceremony.

And yes, I am sure the black, Hispanic, and Jewish families love each other. I am sure the Asians do also. Heck, I love em too. Especially the Jewish ones. Gen 12:3

I think I may not have articulated my thoughts well on the whole POW/MIA deal. Yes, I fully support getting back any and all of our POWs and MIAs. I do believe there were living POWs in Vietnam even up into the 80s. We had spec ops willing and able to go and get them. It was a political issue, and was not PC to actually do anything about it. There was a retired general (will recall his sooner or later), who used to publically claim that he and others would put on a raid to go get them. Eric Haney wrote a good piece on it. This pretty much sealed the fate of most POWs, as they were most likely killed.

Just my opinion, but I believe there to be a population of pseudo patriotic red neck sorts that believe there are still American service men over in Nam, living in bamboo cages. Not the case. there are remains of lost pilots and such still in Korea, and Vietnam, that could be brought home, and give families peace of mind. Let us not forget, that the majority of Nam vets, no longer have living parents. I am sure their siblings, children, and other relatives would like to have them back.

Some MIAs were so destroyed in explosions and such

I have often opined that people hang pictures purportedly of Christ, painted by artists using models, some even used themselves. And, they look amazingly Caucasian. And, the images of Mary, same story. The images of Jesus on the Christ show a man whose face is easily recognizable as a man and his beard is intact. Anyone reading the accounts of his torture knows his beard was pulled out and his face so bloody he didn’t not resemble a man. People are gullible and many feed off that gullibility.

How can anyone claim that any of these images are of Jesus when no one truly knows what he looks like. Sure there have been numerous depictions, but throughout the world, his image is interpreted in a completely different manner depending upon the culture that is describing him.

Theblaze editors are anti-New York Times and their slogan of “All the News That’s Fit to Print”.

They have chosen to do the opposite publishing anything that either isn‘t news or isn’t fit to print.

    This story is both.

How can you not read the nonsense on this site. It’s like looking at a car accident or the cover of the National Inquirer in the line at the grocery store. Since they are talking about moldy shower jesus, hopefully the next story will be about 2 headed jesus living in the jungle somewhere.

Maybe it‘s Tzara’as, the biblical affliction often translated as leprosy. The wall needs to be torn down.
