‘Out of Hope, Ready for Change’: Obama Falls a ‘Little Flat’ at Pricey Denver Fundraiser Where 150 Failed to Show

On Wednesday, President Obama visited Denver to speak to the graduating class at the Air Force Academy and attend a fundraiser. His appearance at the latter could explain why he needs to wow at the former. What do I mean? According to a pool report, the fundraiser was “a little flat,” meaning Obama may need to rely on his ability to reach college students to secure victory in the fall.

“The crowd was obviously supportive and glad to see him, though the room at times felt a little flat and Potus seemed a little tired after a long day that’s not even close to being over,” pool reporter Peter Baker of the New York Times wrote, according to The Weekly Standard.

On top of being “a little flat,” the fundraiser was also a little sparse, at least according to expectations. The Weekly Standard explains:

Moreover, the campaign announced that the president “[would] headline a reception for 700 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. General admission tickets started at $500 apiece, though a selected number of Gen44 and Grassroots tickets were available for $250.”

The campaign now says, according to the pooler, that only 550 people showed up

And that’s all in addition to the protesters who showed up with signs such as “Out of Hope, Ready for Change,” “Debt Slavery,” “Obama’s Blvd. of Broken Promises” and “Bye Bye on Nov. 6th.” The pool report doesn’t say if the protesters were disenchanted former Obama supporters or longtime Obama detractors.

The Denver Post, however, quotes a state Republican operative outside the fundraiser. That operative outside was frowning upon what Obama said inside:

“(Romney’s) working assumption is (if) CEOs and wealthy investors like him get rich, then the rest of us automatically will too,” Obama told the crowd of about 550 people gathered at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center. “What Gov. Romney doesn‘t seem to get is that a healthy economy doesn’t just mean a few folks maximizing their profits through massive layoffs or busting unions.”

    Why would anyone give one penny to this closet Marxist-Muslim and proven liar? This guy truly is the Manchurian Candidate or Rosemary’s Baby if ever there was one (or both).

    If the truth were to get out as to who this guy was, what he has done and will do if re-elected then he will get blown out this next election cycle. The Right needs to step up, ante up and re-claim a piece of the mainstream media so that the masses have a chance of knowing a few facts that could go a long way.

      Myself, wife, 3 sons and 3 daughter in-laws all Democrats fell for Hope & Change. The Change has affected us all and folks we know and there is no Hope. My sons construction company and ranch is being killed by this adminestration. My sons told me about a new EPA mandate for diesel trucks and they have 9. I didn’t understand completely but it seems that you fill out paperwork with seriel # and a sample and send it to a government lab to be checked for water and contaminents. My sons pay $.10 extra gallon for premiem diesel and add addatives to absorb water and change filters regulary. This is good business sense since injectors run up to $800.00 +downtime and mechinx fees.

      Starting in 2007, that’s when the debt began to really go up in a parabolic way. Bush was root to all blame, when it was the democrats in both houses who should take the “credits”. Oblamer takes credit when it’s not due to him, other than giving the order after consultation. He gets first prize in the blame and shame department. Hopefully the shills for O., such as washed up Letterman and MSM, will be eating crow come election time!

      Turkey 13- so how is that hope and change working for ya? The hospice I work for laid of 35 Nurses because the feds refused to pay for patient care. So our patients also suffered no money for supplies. No hope for them either.

    Obama knows what a healthy economy is and Romney doesn’t… LMAO. Obama hasn’t seen a healthy economy since January 2007 when the Dems took control of both houses of congress and were handed an unemployment rate of 4.6%…. He hasn’t seen a real budget for three years either.

    What would be fitting is if the Hyatt Regency turned around and then charged the Obama campaign $500 for each of the no shows. More than fair, they after all had to staff for the “event”, prepare the food, reserve the space, etc….

    Doesn’t Obama want everyone to get their fair share?

    Don’t for a minute think that this does not bother Obama…he is such an ego-maniac that he probably lost sleep over it…….Maybe, just maybe some of those who have been asleep for their long winters nap (4 years) are finally starting to wake up.     What makes me sick is that 550 people still showed up, with there 500 bucks! Fools rush in! The 150 who didn’t show need a pat on the back! They must have woke up and finally smelled the coffee, to bad the other dummiesare still asleep and in bed with Obama! I really feel sorry for them!

      I grew up in the era of 78, 45 ans 33 1/3 RPM records. I one of them were cracked or had something in the groove, the arm would jump back one track and the same phrase would repeat over and over again. Sounds just like Obama. Even the liberals know that 1) He is offering NO solutions to the problems and 2) all he wants to do is cast blame on everyone else.

      He knows nothing about leadership. A community organizer isn’t a leader, a community organizer is a professional blamer. Go to any meetings organized by ACORN or any other “Community” group and all you hear is, ” It’s the governments fault.“ ”It‘s the city’s fault.“ ”It’s the Republicans fault”" It’s everybody elses fault”. Just like that old recording on the turntable, it repeats and repeats.

      It’s high time that we elect a true leader for president. That just doesn’t mean just Romney. There are many capable leaders who have the courage to lead America out out of the morass we are in. We need to find them and elect them.

      The Unions seem more than willing to fill the $$$ shortfall, at least for the time being. The OWS drain of monies on various said Unions must be taking a toll on thier bottom lines for little or no return. I wonder when the Unions will have that “come to Jesus moment” ?     I went to the Air Force graduation of my brother-in-law twenty years ago. I think I can still safely say that someone like BHO did not sway anyone there to vote for him. They don‘t come out of the service academies with degrees in women’s studies and such. Well, at least I hope they don’t these days.

      Agreed, although you never know. You have to feel sorry those for those cadets and other military members in attendance because of the chain of command rules since Obama is the commander-in-chief. Many in the military will explain to you that because of the chain of command they will respect the title, but not necessarily the title holder.
