Outrageous: Harry Reid Repeats Romney Tax Slur on the Senate Floor

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) on Friday took the opportunity during an address from the Senate floor to repeat his claim that Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney did not pay his taxes for 10 years.

“He’s refused to release his tax returns, as we know. If a person coming before this body wanted to be a cabinet officer, he couldn’t be if he did the same refusal Mitt Romney does about tax returns,” Reid said to our nation’s senators.

“So the word’s out that he hasn’t paid any taxes for ten years. Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn’t,” he added.

Wait, “the word’s out”? You, senator, put “the word” out! You made the claim! You cannot substantiate any of this accusation!

We already know from one partial tax return that he gave us, he has money hidden in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, and a Swiss bank account. Not making that up, that’s in the partial year that he gave us,” Reid continued.

“Mitt Romney makes more money in a single day than the average middle-class family makes in two years–or more,” he added.

Reid began all this 10-year no-tax nonsense during an interview with the Huffington Post on Tuesday, TheBlaze discussed earlier today.

Since accusing the former Massachusetts governor of being a tax cheat, the Romney campaign has torn into the senator, left-leaning comedian Jon Stewart has lambasted him for being way out of line, and President Obama’s own deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter admitted there’s nothing to back up his claim.

“I know that the term ‘Senate ethics’ is often an oxymoron, but doesn’t accusing a political opponent from the Senate floor of a felony without offering a shred of proof violate some kind of ethics rule?” Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey asks.

“Not only is this despicable and grossly irresponsible, it should be actionable in court,” he adds.

No, he is not senile, nor has dementia nor has Alzheimers but what he has is MEAN. It is a classic disease most liberals have and easily infectious to those who don’t recognize the symptoms. Remember when he ran to the front of the Senate and was so excited when he said we were “losing the war in Iraq.” That was classic symptom of MEAN. But I did hear a rumor that someone who knows Obama from Harvard said his Obama’s grades were the worst Harvard ever had and that is why he will not show them. Actually that was Rush on the radio today with a phone call from someone who left no name sorta along Harry’s rumor. I don’t think it is a rumor that he made money off prime property in Nevada. Maybe to satisfy the rumors Romney and Obama have a trade off tax returns against birth certificate and Harvard grades or Romney ignores Harry and his MEAN disease and we all move on. Harry is just a MEAN little man.

Under the law Romney has to prove exactly nothing. Innocent until proven guilty. Reid has to prove his claim. That’s how it works in reality. And the IRS is usually pretty damn fast if someone doesn’t pay any taxes for ten years.

While it is not illegal to lie for political purposes the religious congregation, the Mormon Church, should excommunicate Harry Reid.

See if that has repercussions. Maybe people will look into the land deals that enriched his family.

Romney uses the SAME tax loopholes every taxpayer uses. Romney does not have to release his tax returns and should not. And by the way 90% of all Dem Presidents were multi-millionaires. Why should Romney have to apologize for his SELF-MADE wealth. The hyprocrisy of the Dems is pathetic. They have NOTHING on Romney. Is this the only way Obama can win an election? He can’t run on his record – so let the crazy old man in the Senate do his dirty work. Romney should bring charges against Reid and the WH. Do you really believe the IRS would not have arrested Romney long before now for not paying his taxes? Let’s check out how many off shore accounts Reid, Pelosi, Obama and his minions have. Pathetic and so unbecoming of a President.

If you want Romney to show you his tax returns for x number of years then you and all your cronies in Congress better be ready to do the same. why did you make $1.1 million dollars on the sale of land that you hadnt owned in 3 years? Before you go blasting others for their supposed shady actions, you better make sure your own slate is perfectly clean.
