Over 200 Protesters Rally Outside Prison of Alleged Wikileaker Bradley Manning

Over 200 protesters showed up outside Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas on Saturday to protest the incarceration of PFC Bradley Manning, the Army soldier accused of feeding classified information to Wikileaks:

From Fox4 in Kansas City:

More than 200 protesters rallied in Leavenworth to support the Army private on Saturday. People say they weren’t just there for the sake of a soldier. They say they were there for the sake of freedom of speech.

Demonstraters showed support by waving flags, carrying posters and placards. Most of them say they don’t even know Bradley Manning. They say for now, the principle is just as important as the private.

Jeff Patterson came all the way from Oakland, California for the rally. He says he feels a personal need to raise money for Manning’s legal defense. Patterson says he was a conscientious objector of the Gulf War and now regards Manning as a martyr for a cause.

“We see him as a person who possibly leaked information to Wikileaks and made a name for himself,” Patterson said. “We believe that society of both American and international is better off for that information.”

I am not surprised that when trolls show up the call conservatives stupid. But after reading these hypocritical posts condoning the death of a man who has not had a fair trial for civilians to to decide his guilt. Everything most of us has read is from the MEDIA.
yet he should be shot, hung by his***** etc.
I thought I could expect better from conservatives. Aren’t you pro- life?
You trust this administration to not bungle this thing like everything else???
I must be stupid. I thought conservatism came fro the heart and sound principles.

I worked in the military confinement field for 12 years. They all consider themselves innocent and whine constantly. The have nothing better to do and all the time to do it. Manning signed on the dotted line; he knew his responsibilities as a member of the U.S. Military. He failed to live up to those responsibilities and now must face the consequences. Disagree if you must, but the facts are uncontested. When you’re in the military, your freedom of speech is limited and you accept it. Otherwise, don’t join. That simple.

I’ve no sympathy (beyond basic human compassion). This guy knew exactly what he was doing.

I spent 20+ years as an intel guy in direct support of combat arms guys; we got access to intel way beyond that of many senior officers let alone the average service member or law enforcement professionals; we knew our special responsibility to safeguard National secrets, re-trained & took an annual oath to it – no excuse.

He’s traitorous, treasonous, malicious, & should serve his life in information deficit of solitary – a fate far worse than death for an intle guy.

Whether our country and international countries are better off with that information has nothing to do with this persons innocence or guilt. He broke the law, the UCMJ and betrayed his oath to the country. This means that this person can’t be trusted with anything pertaining to the security of this country. He is a criminal and should be punished as such. These people protesting his confinement have no idea of what this is about. This person jepordized the security of this country. To me that makes him a traitor.

I thought this appropriate from the other Blaze link.

    Quote George Orwell:

Pacifism is objectively pro-Fascist. This is elementary common sense. If you hamper the war effort of one side you automatically help that of the other. Nor is there any real way of remaining outside such a war as the present one. In practice, ‘he that is not with me is against me’. The idea that you can somehow remain aloof from and superior to the struggle, while living on food which British sailors have to risk their lives to bring you, is a bourgeois illusion bred of money and security. Mr Savage remarks that ‘according to this type of reasoning, a German or Japanese pacifist would be “objectively pro-British”.’ But of course he would be! That is why pacifist activities are not permitted in those countries (in both of them the penalty is, or can be, beheading) while both the Germans and the Japanese do all they can to encourage the spread of pacifism in British and American territories. The Germans even run a spurious ‘freedom’ station which serves out pacifist propaganda indistinguishable from that of the P.P.U. They would stimulate pacifism in Russia as well if they could, but in that case they have tougher babies to deal with. In so far as it takes effect at all, pacifist propaganda can only be effective against those countries where a certain amount of freedom of speech is still permitted; in other words it is helpful to totalitarianism.

Nice… thank you for the flash-back. Certainly nothing that little ol’ Manning(less) had ever considered in all his glory-seeking. Why people cannot see him for what he is astounds me. If this where a hundred years ago he would have been summarily executed on the spot. Now, we have to debate it endlessly. Don’t let people forget, ever.

Prisoner Manning is a traitor, plain and simple. Nothing that he “exposed” has any real standing as criminal indictment of the military. All he achieved was the deaths of our informants, and then the deaths of US Service members. DEAD TO RIGHTS IT HAPPENED.

Remember McViegh? Remember how he elected for an immediate death penalty? He knew we were coming for him. He was prior-service who used his knowledge to attack fellow citizens… he knew it was treason. It will not matter what a bunch of leftards in the courts or media ever think, men like that will suffer death for their crimes eventually. I am not making a threat, I am just stating reality. Manning is toast, regardless of what these idiot protesters think.
BTW, there have been plenty of non-military domestic terrorists who have not, and will not, fall under this thrall. The critical diference is they did not swear an oath, then totally and shamefully break it in search of pleasure, profit, and personal safety.

    Good night America.

Hmm… here’s where I believe a stark contrast can be drawn. Taking (i.e., stealing) classified information you are entrusted with and then disseminating it to a website is not free speech. It’s theft that is in this case is also treason. However, feel free to rally around the poster child for confused, leftist morals. That’s free speech.
Choose your heroes as you will. In my opinion, this guy is no hero… just another “ME!” monster, but, as I said, that’s just my opinion. Kinda like rallying around the kid who steals the answer key or the guy who hacks your e-mail account and gets busted. How is that heroic? Thievery is to be celebrated? Hooray.

Democracy- mob rule is great when you get to be the mob. Looks like the left is winning. While the right is always on the defense their left always wondering what happened and wringing their hands. Meanwhile, the left has taken over your tv our education, your children, healthcare and our religion.

When the Left decides anything related to the Constitution ,Oathkeepers and patriots is treason lets hear you sing.
Or do you actually believe the white house when they say Manning is our Patsy?

They do realize that disseminating classified information is considered treasonous actions in the U.S. military and the penalty is to be hanged by the neck until dead, right? The fact that the government is weak enough to view his actions as a prank just goes to show how weak this country is becoming. He was made aware of the consequences of his actions, just as I and many others were, when given his clearance. The fact that he chose to disregard it just goes to prove that he should receive the punishment he was warned of.
