Over Fifty Bodies (Likely Drug Gang Victims) Found in Mexico Mass Grave

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Fifty-nine bodies were found buried Wednesday in a series of pits in the northern Mexico state of Tamaulipas, near the site where suspected drug gang members massacred 72 migrants last summer, officials said.
Security forces investigating reports that a passenger bus had been hijacked in the area conducted a raid that netted 11 suspected kidnappers and freed five kidnap victims.
Then they made a grisly discovery – a total of eight pits, containing a total of 59 corpses. One of the pits held 43 dead.
The bodies are being examined to determine whether they were bus passengers who were reportedly abducted March 25, the Tamaulipas state government said in statement in which it “energetically condemned” the crimes.
The statement did not identify what drug gang, if any, that the 11 arrested suspects belonged to, or why they might have hijacked the bus.
President Felipe Calderon’s office issued a statement saying the find “underlines the cowardliness and total lack of scruples of the criminal organizations that cause violence in our country.”
While there was no immediate confirmation that a drug cartel was involved, officials refer to the cartels as “criminal organizations.”
The statement said Calderon had ordered federal officials to help in the investigation, and particularly in the work of identifying the victims.
The pits were found in the farm hamlet of La Joya in the township of San Fernando, in the same area where the bodies of 72 migrants, most from Central America, were found shot to death Aug. 24 at a ranch.
The area is about 80 miles (130 kilometers) from the border at Brownsville, Texas.
Authorities blamed that massacre on the Zetas drug gang, which is fighting its one-time allies in the Gulf cartel for control of the region.
The victims in the August massacre were illegal immigrants from El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Ecuador and Brazil. An Ecuadorean and Honduran survived the attack, which Mexican authorities say occurred after the migrants refused to work for the cartel.
Mexican drug cartels have taken to recruiting migrants, common criminals and youths, Mexican authorities say.
It was unclear if the victims found Wednesday were migrants. Migrants frequently travel by bus in Mexico/
But drug gunmen also operate kidnapping rings, and erect roadblocks on highways in Tamaulipas and other northern states, where they hijack vehicles and rob and sometimes kill passengers.
San Fernando is on a major highway that leads to the U.S. border.
Drug gangs across Mexico also sometimes use mass graves to dispose of the bodies of executed rivals.
The wave of drug-related killings – which has claimed more than 34,000 lives in the four years since the government launched an offensive against drug cartels – drew thousands of protesters into the streets of Mexico’s capital and several other cities Wednesday in marches against violence.
Many of the protesters said the government offensive has stirred up the violence.
“We need to end this war, because it is a senseless war that the government started,” said protester Alma Lilia Roura, 60, an art historian.
Several thousand people joined the demonstration in downtown Mexico City, chanting “No More Blood!“ and ”Not One More!” A similar number marched through the southern city of Cuernavaca.
Parents marched with toddlers, and protesters held up signs highlighting the disproportionate toll among the nation’s youth. “Today a student, tomorrow a corpse,” read one sign carried by demonstrators.
The marches were spurred in part by the March 28 killing of Juan Francisco Sicilia, the son of Mexican poet Javier Sicilia, and six other people in Cuernavaca.
“We are putting pressure on the government, because this can’t go on,” said the elder Sicilia. “It seems that we are like animals that can be murdered with impunity.”

Posted on April 7, 2011 at 1:03pmThis is what the drug cartel does best, they are like wild animals that just like to kill. Our bleeding heart society can not wait to have them in this country to kill our citizens. Ignorant Americans are allowing them in and right now the ones responsible are in political power, because it is more important to have there vote then it is your safety.

Posted on April 7, 2011 at 10:08amOne thing would solve this problem: arming the civilian population. Imagine if a bus load of people opened up on their potential kidnappers. Imagine potential murderers being shot to death as they arrived at a birthday party with the intent to kill everyone. We should be arming the Mexican civilians.Mexico is proof that gun control does not help prevent crime. Appeasing criminals will never keep them from committing crimes.

Posted on April 7, 2011 at 9:49amMexico has become a third world, disgusting country run by thugs who intimidate or kill their opponents at will without government interference. Mexico wants an open border with America, mexico is not America , yet it has a fence along it’s southern border to prevent Guatamalans from entering. The police in Mexico abuse illegals in their country by using them as drug carriers, gun runners, extort them, rape them largely unreported. These are the people who are infesting our country because we demand legal immigration ONLY. We have excellent legal immigrants from Mexico and South America but we will lose our country if we follow the Soros/Obama plan for open borders. We as responsible citizens must aweaken to the threat worldwide of chaos caused by the progressives of the world.

1) abolish the income tax
2) apply a federal sales tax to ALL sales of goods and services and financial transactions
3) make drugs legal in the U.S.
4) secure the borders
5) apply high tariffs to imported goods (very high for imported drugs)
The drug lords would not be able to survive.

What was the National Security risk in Libya? How much is this costing? 40 Million a day?
Egypt (El Baradai) now threatening to attack Israel if Israel attacks gaza… Is there real plan to setup a surrounding of Anti-Israeli nations around Israel? What other reason are we in Libya?
Thier claims of humanatarin aide to Libya, has been clearly proven to be a lie.

Posted on April 7, 2011 at 1:35amContinual Siesta in the Mexican Government. No Sincerity, No Sense of Purpose, Incapable of Adequately addressing their internal problems so they relax their Exit Visa programs and encourage migration to the north. They are well aware of the consequences of attacking the cartels, so they sit back, accept graft and go to Can Cun/Aucapulco/Cabo every week end. Soon, apathy will rule the Border Patrol and Central America will migrate north along with the drug cartels. By the year 2020, internal decay will render the United States powerless and beyond the point of reclamation. The migration will continue northward until Canada is consumed. The desire to work hard, build your own company and resurrect your country will have gone the way of the nanny state. Any government that exists will have to threaten any workers to produce enough to sustain a faltering country. The labor unions will rise up and threaten to strike if some one doesn’t start to GIVE A DAMN.

Posted on April 7, 2011 at 4:17amChina solved it’s centuries old problem with opium dens sapping the wealth and productivity of the country by executing opium addicts. Soon, the addicts were dead or the natural survival instincts kicked in with anyone who could stop using, and the problem was solved. Of course we are too humane to do such a thing, but we could make a deal with Mexico. They could take our drug users and addicts that provide a market for the drug cartels and do with them what they will, and we will take all of their hard working people who are just trying to better their lives by escaping Mexico and getting American jobs. I could agree to a quick path to citizenship for those hard workers. We don’t need anymore welfare parasites or drug addicts, but we can use all of the hard working people dreaming of a better life that we can get.

Posted on April 7, 2011 at 5:44amDream on Leger, though I agree with you…
That is NOT the plan of the Elites. They hate the constitution, so they are desperate to dilute the population of people who defend it with others who have no appreciation of its history, or any organic connection with its benefits.
We will be outvoted sooner or later. John McCain is one of the biggest enemies of state on this count!
Comprehensive Immigration Reform “MY FRIENDS” (McCain voice) would have led to Civil War within a decade or less of its passage because of its provisions limiting the government to 24 hours to find a reason to reject a applicants Z-Visa, compounded with the window of opportunity to submit an application being held open for a whole damn year (imagine how many would flood in and miraculously find work documentation for a hundred bucks confirming their presence in the country for the specified time), compounded yet again with the chain migration provision allowing the z-visa applicant to transplant not only immediate family but EXTENDED family as well.
Heritage ran the numbers assuming ONLY 12 million applying for the z-visa and said that within 15 years it could balloon up to 80 or 120 million!
That is a perfect opportunity for the likes of our friends LA RAZA to declare themselves a political party and become the leaders with a party “mas reprentativo” of the language and culture of the newly minted “Americans”.
I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR JOHN MCCAIN AS A RESULT. NOR OF BUSH. They quite nearly pushed the country to a quick suicide.

Posted on April 7, 2011 at 5:29amRemember how the People of Spain reacted to the Madrid Rail bombings? They all poured out into the streets by the hundreds of thousands that weekend, and then the next day in their elections they threw out the tough against terrorists Jose Maria Aznar, and put in the weak Socialists Zapatero.
That gives me some reason to believe that something in the character of the Spaniards makes them back down to a threat before rising up and challenging it. May explain why the muslims took over and occupied Spain in the past.
And the Meso-American experience was one of whoever had the force of character to fight, his tribe would dominate the others, and people would copt to the new order for a few generations.
Mexicans are very proud, but I don’t see much hope of them staring down the assaults on their society successfully.
