Over Twenty Foreign Women Involved in Secret Service Scandal

WASHINGTON (AP/The Blaze) — At least 20 foreign women and as many Secret Service officers and Marines met at a hotel in Colombia in an incident involving prostitution, and lawmakers are seeking information about any possible threat to the U.S. or to President Barack Obama who arrived for a conference soon after, congressional officials said Tuesday.
In briefings throughout the day, Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan told lawmakers that 11 members of his agency met with 11 women at a hotel in Cartagena and that more foreign females were involved with American military personnel.
Obama and some key congressional Republicans, meanwhile, said they continued to support Sullivan.
“The president has confidence in the director of the Secret Service. Director Sullivan acted quickly in response of this incident and is overseeing an investigation as we speak in to the matter,” said White House spokesman Jay Carney.
Sullivan shuttled between meetings with lawmakers Tuesday, outlining what his investigators in Washington and in Colombia have found about the incident.
“Twenty or 21 women foreign nationals were brought to the hotel,” Sen. Susan Collins, the ranking Republican on the Homeland Security Committee, said Sullivan told her. Eleven of the Americans involved were Secret Service, she reported, and “allegedly Marines were involved with the rest.”
Meanwhile, Sullivan told the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee that the 11 Secret Service agents and officers were telling different stories to investigators about who the women were. Sullivan has dispatched more investigators to Columbia to interview the women, said Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y.
“Some are admitting (the women) were prostitutes, others are saying they’re not, they’re just women they met at the hotel bar,” King said in a telephone interview. Sullivan said none of the women, who had to surrender their IDs at the hotel, were minors. “But prostitutes or not, to be bringing a foreign national back into a secure zone is a problem,” King said.
The scandal overshadowed Obama’s visit to a Latin America summit over the weekend and embarrassed the U.S.’s top military brass. Pentagon press secretary George Little said that military members who are being investigated were assigned to support the Secret Service in preparation for Obama’s official visit to Cartagena. He said they were not directly involved in presidential security.
The Secret Service sent 11 of its members, a group including agents and uniformed officers, home from Colombia amid allegations that they had hired prostitutes at a Cartagena hotel. The military members being investigated were staying at the same hotel.
The Secret Service personnel were placed on administrative leave, and on Monday the agency announced that it also had revoked their security clearances.
Lawmakers in both the House and Senate are looking into the allegations, with King’s committee devoting four investigators. He said it‘s not yet clear whether he’ll call hearings on the matter. He, too, said he’s standing behind Sullivan.

After I got to know the secret service agents, I now understand how Reagan got shot, how Kennedy got assassination, and how squeaky Fromme got to so close to President Ford that she actually pulled the trigger in his chest and could have killed him, but the gun misfired. Really, if the Office of President really wants some good, competent protection, they really DO need to hire former Navy Seals. And another thing, it IS the CULTURE OF CORRUPTION IN THE ODUMBO WHITE HOUSE THAT IS CAUSING ALL THESE PROBLEMS. JUST WAIT…THERE IS MORE TO COME…

When I was in the Navy and we pulled into the Philipines, there was no politically correct person there to say the sailors couldn’t spend the night with the girls there. We all know that those girls were working girls and had to be paid. There was no out cry about that then so why is there that out cry now?

As long as one black guy was there Obama and Holder may never discipline any of them since blacks can never do anything wrong. Barber, but you were right too. That was indeed a jab for the Brits. The summit didn’t have a final statement or declaration because there wasn’t unanimous agreement on all issues. Two points caused that: Cuba and the Falkland Islands. Cuba was not invited because Canada and USA said no to that. The thing is that there is a rule of the summit which requires that the countries invited must be ruled by democratic elected governments.
On the other hand: UK has the possession of the Falklands since early 1800s’ (Possession is 9/10 of the law :) ), they have independent government from the UK and, the most important, the people there don’t want to be part of Argentina (All of them).
The claiming is a populist strategy used from time to time by the Argentina’s government, and also a pride issue for many Argentinians. But anyway, the Falkland’s people don’t want to be part of Argentina and they’ve been living there for several generations now.
The claiming is made by the Hugo Chavez’s pet government of Argentina, fueled by the interest in the oil reserves newly found in the island’s area. But there is also a long history of dark agreements between both governments, including large amounts of cash from Chavez to Cristina in order to help her with the campaign expenses and some bribery. Besides, all lefty governments in SA are supporting this scenario following Chavez and Castro instructions: Ecuador, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Brazil.

Posted on April 17, 2012 at 11:40pmThe thing is that Obama was against the wall at Cartagena: On one hand all LA countries were telling him (backstage) that he promised a new kind of relationship with the region after GWB, but that never happened. That claim comes mostly from the lefty ones (Those close to Obama’s background and heart). On the other hand, the rest of the world is expecting USA’s support to the Brits on the Falkland’s issue. It never happened until today, at least openly, as it was common in the old days….(USA supported UK in the 1982 war, but those were different times: Reagan and Thatcher)
The last day of the summit, 2 hours before the closure session, Obama and Cristina Kirchner had a private meeting. Cristina left the meeting very angry and then left the summit before everyone else…..it seems Obama didn’t support her, but he doesn’t support UK either….
The Spanish speaking press is pointing out Obama’s gaffe on the islands name too…
