Oversight Committee Could Send Subpoenas to Obama Administration in Regards to Fast and Furious

(AP) — The chairman of the House oversight committee said Sunday that he could send subpoenas to the Obama administration as soon as this week over weapons lost amid the Mexican drug war.
Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., suggested on “Fox News Sunday” that Attorney General Eric Holder knew about the gun trafficking operation known as “Fast and Furious” earlier than he has acknowledged.
“Why are they denying knowing about something that they were briefed on?” Issa said. “Exactly when, the American people want to know, how did it happen?”
In the 2009 operation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowed intermediaries for drug cartels to buy thousands of weapons from Arizona gun shops and lost track of about 1,400 of the 2,000 of those guns. Some of those weapons have been recovered at crime scenes in Mexico.
Operation Fast and Furious came to light after two assault rifles purchased by a now-indicted small-time buyer under scrutiny in the operation turned up at a shootout in Arizona where Customs and Border Protection agent Brian Terry was killed.
Earlier this year, Holder testified to Congress that he hadn’t heard about the operation until early 2011. On Sunday, Issa said, “That’s just disingenuous on its face.”
In a letter sent Friday to key lawmakers who oversee Justice Department issues, Holder said his testimony was truthful and accurate and said Republicans are engaging in political posturing when they say otherwise.
“Such irresponsible and inflammatory rhetoric must be repudiated in the strongest possible terms,” Holder said.
On Fox, Issa said President Barack Obama “still seems to have full confidence in Eric Holder – something I don’t share.”
Issa declined to join other Republicans who have called for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate Holder. “Congress is well along the way of investigating this operation to find out what went wrong, who knew it and what we have to do in the future to make sure it can’t happen again,” Issa said.

Both Sen, Isakson and Chambliss from GA voted for him as well as Alabama’s Jeff Sessions. In GA the self-proclaimed Tea Party supports both of these guys. Just goes to show you what has become of a once great movement now that the republican party has co-opted it. Every senator who voted for him needs to be run out on a rail. FAT CHANCE!! The Tea Party is protecting them now out of fear of libertarian-minded politicians who will acutally unhold the Constitution.

“A chief Republican critic of a controversial U.S. anti-gun-trafficking operation was briefed on ATF’s “Fast and Furious” program last year and did not express any opposition, sources familiar with the classified briefing said Tuesday.
“Rep. Darrell Issa (Calif.), who has repeatedly called for top Justice Department officials to be held accountable for the now-defunct operation, was given highly specific information about it at an April 2010 briefing, the sources said. Members of his staff also attended the session, which Issa and two other Republican congressmen had requested.

“At the briefing last year, bureau officials laid out for Issa and other members of Congress from both parties details of several ATF investigations, including Fast and Furious, the sources said. For that program, the briefing covered how many guns had been bought by “straw purchasers,’’ the types of guns and how much money had been spent, said one source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the briefing was not public.

The stonewalling of information by the ATF, other federal agencies and Holder and the Justice Dept. made it impossible to discover details. The death of the border patrol agent made it imperative that this program be stopped and those responsible be brought to justice. Issa is like a pit bull and I say go for it!

Posted on October 9, 2011 at 8:52pmRep. Issa did not know then what he knows now through sworn testimony. A report is one fact but sworn testimony is letal evidence. To try and piece together the elaborate twists and deception has just recently come to light. Regardless, this is not about Issa, this is about the Attorney General who runs oversight of the FBI, ATF and DEA who have violated the law. Additionally, two fellons that are US citzens were also sold weapons under the authority of the ATF which is also a felony. Someone authorized this mess and they must be identified and removed so this will not happen again. You cannot try and squirm out of what has happened and the more Holder and the Administration try to fight this, the more aggressive the investigation will become. Rep. Issa was very hard on George W. Bush as well; i would not underestimate him.

Obummer and Holder saw an opportunity to use the umbrella of Gunrunner to create the secret Fast and Furious operation to undercut the 2nd Amendment by artificially inflating the number of guns that would turn up at mexican crime scenes and be tracable back to the good ol’ USA.

He supports their agenda, and stated “you could go back 30 years or more and not find anything”. Plus he worked for the Fed. We need someone with the nards to boot the Fed and the U.N the heck out of America, its not about taxes, it’s about the “true” government. Yes, I also believe if this Fast and Furious Gun Runners tragedy does not get a jail sentence or a charge for treason – for Ob ama and Holder, well, then, we do not have a government who gives a damn for the people of this country – there is NO JUSTICE – the CROOKS in place have the power…. we’ll have to wait it out – but the longer the delays, the less chance of this going anywhere – and I say “what a shame” ! Both are at best guilty of incompentence and worst guilty of murder. The only question is how many have died as a result of their actions and policies. There is one US Border agent. The point of the matter of NOT TO WIN, but rather to TIE HIM UP — keep Obama busy for the last year an a half of his term. Each item of Treason will be a seperate case, each matter of calling him in will cause him to not be able to do more harm.
The longer we hold him up, no matter the fact we cannot win with this 112th Congress, the less damage he can do. He’s getting ready to ramp it up — you’ve all not seen anything yet.

It makes perfect sense. With their own in the seat of power..they are succeeding in overtaking the whole world and using us to do it… it is brilliant..but oh so evil.
