Owner of Wrecked Home Shares Reaction to Earthquake

Virginians don’t often feel earthquakes, so when one shook Louisa County on Tuesday it sent some into shock.

“It just took my breath away and I just started crying, that’s all,” said Jean Brunson, the owner of one of the only two homes wrecked by the 5.8 magnitude quake.

Watch Brunson’s tearful account of her destroyed home and Mineral workers run for safety as shelves collapse in this video from The Charlottesville Newsplex:

One Charlottesville Newsplex reporter was in the field right when the earthquake happened, and started filming reactions immediately. Take a look at some of those initial moments:

    In California people are told not to run out of buildings,. Especially older buildings like those that have overhangs or brick facades. Safety experts also say one should stand or sit in doorways. In severe shakes, one can be slammed by a swinging door. One should not stay in their car if they are under an overhead toad. If you are stuck in traffic in that position, it’s better to exit the vehicle and sit on the ground as close to the car as possible.
    In the San Francisco, people who were crushed in their cars, would have survived if they had follwed this recommendation, since there was a void between the side of the cars and the fallen overhead roadway.

    The earth trembled and quaked,
    and the foundations of the mountains shook;
    they trembled because he was angry.

    Wonder why God is angry? Could it be because he has turned his back on the USA because of our sins. We need to repent for the sins and ask for his help. Before it is too late.

      When insurance companies turn down damaged property due to nature. They explain it as an “act of God” or “an act of nature”. Using this logic I believe it is an act of God for the sins committed by the Obama administration and not by the people. If it is because of all our sins God would have found another way to punish us like a pandemic.

      It not that He has turned His back on it’s that we as a nation have rejected Him. We elected men and women in 2006 and then again in 2008 a man and party in 2008 that hates Him His Gospel, His covenant people, nation and city Jerusalem. We have no one to blame but ourselves. I shudder to think how much more damage to our survival as a free civilization this man and his party can to us as they spit on and shake their puny little fist at the Lord God Almighty Maker of Heaven and Earth. Everyone who reads this I urge you read Dr. Erwin Lutzer’s two books “When a Nation Forgets God” and Hitler’s Cross” and you will see a portrait of our nation today and the evil political philosophies and actions at work to destroy us as free people. Time is very short for our survival!

    And earthquakes in diverse places…and wars, and rumors of war. These are the sign of the times. All evil, all the time which covers the Democrats. Lots of evil most of the time covers the Repubs. No one is righteous, no one is good…where it not for Gods promise not to drown us like rats ever again I’d be asking Him if we should build an ark. First I got to get the permits to do so from our Amerikan building regulators. Not to mention the home association. Then I got to hire union contractors and EPA agents to study the environmental impact for build such a large temporary structure. And then I have to check with the Animal Rights people to authorize the keeping of so many diverse animals. Oh what they hey!!! Lord just incinerate us.

    It is not always the intensity of a quake that determines the amount of damage. In areas where earthquakes are frequent like Japan, Chile and California, the building codes and civil response are up to the challenge. The northeast is not prepared for quakes of any intensity and the geology of the region propagates the waves.

      5.8 on the east coast is more intense than a 5.8 on the west coast. Earthquakes in California do not span from Canada to Mexico because of the type of geological structures there. Much different than here on the mid atlantic plate which is pretty much solid from Canada to Georgia. Shaking in one spot is spread much further and with more intensity.

    Imagine a quake just a little larger than this one in the same area or just a bit further north towards DC. All the homes of the elite and or just ordinary everyday Americans who work for the various agencies of our government. Our guberment would come to a stand still, still may when this incoming Hurricane gets through with them. We can ill afford repairs right now…America is being shredded.
