‘OWS vs. Tea Party’ – Is This A Reality TV Show You Would Watch?

Would you watch a reality competition TV show featuring Occupiers facing off against Tea Party members?

Think of it as “The Apprentice” meets “Survivor” with a dash of “Big Brother” tossed in for good measure. That’s the elevator-ride pitch for a new TV show in search of funding and a home.

Occupy Vs. Tea Party Now its a TV show

“Occupy VS. Tea Party” is the brainchild of producer/author/musician Gordon G.G. Gebert. Gordon hopes to fund the pilot for his show and get it on air (or the Internet) before the November election. He has chosen the web to raise funds to cover the initial production costs. Using Kickstarter, Gebert hopes to raise $10,000 via “crowd funding.” He has until Thursday, July 19th to reach his goal. (As of this writing, the project still needed around $4,200.) People who help fund the show will be listed in the credits and depending on how large their contribution may be, could even be seen on the show.

The Blaze spoke with Gordon Gebert while he was doing some of the initial casting for the pilot. While the show has garnered serious interest from different cable outlets, there was also an expressed intent in directing the outcome of the competition to suit the political leanings of the outlet. Gebert held back selling out the rights to his concept. It is his dream to allow the real debate between these two entities to be carried out on television, without the direction or nudging of someone who favors either side of the argument.

Last week, Mr. Gebert was a guest on “First Shift,” a liberal radio talk show hosted Tony Trupiano. In this interview, the program’s format is explained as well as the “crowd funding” process.

Pay close attention to the opening of the segment as Trupiano mentions that he would like to “kick Glenn Beck’s ass.” The host says that he wants to fight both Beck and Rush Limbaugh, but considers Beck to be a much more challenging opponent:

According to the show’s creator, some big names are interested in participating in it:

  • Chuck Woolery has raised his hand and wants to host the show.
  • Ted Nugent has allegedly expressed interest in being on the show if it’s on a network. (Obviously, Ted would be a member of the Tea Party team.)
  • Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake, & Palmer has also told the producers that he wants to create the music for it.

Would you watch a TV program like this?  Would you fund a TV show like this?

Take our Blaze poll.

I was with the TEA party when we marched on the capital (surrounded it and demonstrated our outrage at the direction this country was headed)… I also attened Beck’s Lincoln Mounment extravaganza (not the same… too much religous pap… won’t attend another… don’t know anyone that will… the people I traveled with were likewise unimpressed… the TEA party was not a religious movement it was, and still is, a TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY group… NONDENOMINATIONAL… and certainly not religious)… I will not be going to any more SERMONS FROM BLEEDING HEART WANNA BE PREACHERS… there is church for that… stay our of my politics, pockets and the discussion all together.

There is no comparison between the TEA party and that unwashed band of rapists and murderers pretending to be a movement… the only movement they resemble is a bowel movement… the only thing going for “occupy vs TEA Party is, the TEA Party is listed as the “HOME TEAM”… that much is true…game set ad match.

This just proves how effective the Tea Party Patriots , Rushbo and Glenn Beck are in preaching Constitutional living. The communists/OWs have no fear of the Republican, Rino establishment, progressives. What is the contest anyway, seeing who can lay the biggest pile of crap on a patrol car or smashing windows of hard working American businesses? This is all OW communists know anyway..

In theory, this sounds like an interesting show, but in reality it would be no different from the cable news channels. We can already see ignorant Liberals calling conservatives racists on TV, that need has already been filled.

lapdog, Do you mean like the way GB destroyed the Tea party movement by making it about religion instead of the Constitution which decided the independents and constitutional thinking conservatives? Because that is what happened and why the crowds are half of what they were at teaparties nationwide.

Skiz I would say OWS and the looney left have won by default and or fair and square. While conservatives hold hands and sing kumbayah the left have scared their voting base and elected officials into doing as they bid.

When the teaparty veered from the principles that made this country great to fight for religious rights instead, We lost the united beliefs we all hold dear, freedom and liberty.

As a grass roots conservative activist that has fought on both sides I am ashamed of my conservative brethren. They think cutting down old growth forest to replant with pines forest inert from life is good practice, Fracking is intelligent, solar is stupid, while they pump corn into there tanks. Countries are independent on fuel from others forms like sugar cane while we use corn? Drill baby drill even if it gets sold overseas as we dont have the refining capacity Stupid is as stupid does and they have hand picked a moron morman for you to choose election day, Is he better than O, of course sheeple, but you have fulfilled there wishes to the tee

The problem is that we are talking about television. I doubt that either group would be accurately represented or that a show like this would solve much. I also think that while he hasn’t sold the idea for a managed result YET, he will.

The problem between these groups is one of direction. The outrage they both feel is very real. But the only place to find an answer to the way our money is used today is in government. They set the rules and are charged with protecting the interests of the people. Wall Street is concerned with protecting the interests of the stock holders — as it should be.
Occupy is aimed at the wrong people. It‘s our elected officials who are charged with making the rules for Wall Street’s behaviour.

Who knows? Maybe they’ll get their “patriot” on someday.

This is just another opportunity for the Lap Dog Media to Alinsky the Tea Party. This guys’ comments already expose their intended goal . Some groups are best avoided. OWS , that Canadian anti-capitalist movement, is one of them. This also just trivializes the underlying issues. Media 24 / 7. Guess old George Soros knew where to place his big bucks : Media Matters. For brainwashing and propagandizing.

I probably wouldn‘t watch it because they’d do what the media has done and chosen the “lowest common denominator” of both groups because drama is what gets the sponsors. I would, however, like to see the best of both groups get together and come up with some common goals. I mean if I have it right, both groups are tired of crony capitalism, banks getting bailouts, politicians being mere puppets to the lobbyists, and the police state.
