PA Rep. Brady Suggests Gunman Motivated by Sarah Palin’s Website

On Monday morning, Rep. Robert Brady (D-PA) appeared on “Fox and Friends” to discuss a legislative proposal that would make it illegal to place a figurative “target” on a member of Congress. He used the much-referenced electoral map produced by Sarah Palin’s PAC, which “targeted” a number of key swing districts:

But despite admitting he did not know what was going through the gunman’s mind, he specifically linked Palin’s map and website to the shooting (the accusation comes at about 3:10):

“Gabrielle Giffords is in a coma because there was a bullseye– a crosshair put on her,” he said. Although host Gretchen Carlson notes that there is no evidence to back that up, Brady never responds to being called out.

But for someone railing against even a hint of violence, it could be troubling that Brady’s own website features a picture of him in boxing gloves.

Gateway Pundit noticed the odd picture. The caption says it is of Brady receiving “commemorative gloves” for his work as a “democracy champ”:

    Can we think of any other reason to get put on the Fox and Friends Dick Head!………This guy is a “REP” for the people of PA….. and this is what he wants to be known for???……I believe that this is a lame ass attempt to throw MORE MUD in a mud fight with a merrior! What crap!! dont “target” a state for a victory, the crazy right might think it means kill the rep!…………talk about paranoia……do your job to the standards God has set out for you and you will sleep better at night Mr. Brady, that target on your state doesn mean You are the target, it means that the people need better representation there, and we want it!

      Thanks for that link. The sad part is few on the left would ever read it much less take responsibility for the violence and hate speech they engage in. It’s too bad the focus has been taken off the victims by those political pundits trying to push one agenda or another. They should listen to the interview of the shooter’s college professor. Those who knew the assailant knew he was mentally unstable.

    On Gayle Kings new show this am. she right out of the bull pen blames Sarah Palin, I turned her off and will never watch her again!     You can also be assured that any American that sympathizes with anything that Loughner believed in or held sacred, those people will now be labeled as his accomplices and hate mongers. I’ve seen countless blogs and news stories that have played this out blatantly blaming the right wing of this country.     I guess he has to have somebody to blame besides the deranged shooter since that seems to be the M.O. of the dems, afterall, it has been Bush’s fault for the last two years, so this must now become Sarah Palin’s fault. I think they honestly believe what they say which might speak to their mental state of mind. Can’t we just agree that this was a very sick person, and get past the PC and keep our eyes and ears open so this tragedy doesn’t happen again? Pray for this country, and her citizens.

      Too much coverage creates (maybe even encourages) sensationalism. How an event, caused by a seemingly nutcase, can allow conversation on the tea party, Sarah Palin, etc. to be brought in as “part” of the story. Rep Brady is a sick and disturbed individual. Frankly we should send federal law enforcement agents to investigate any person spewing hate rhetoric like this. Including this moron Rep. Brady. It’s time to stop accepting this and demand accountability. Congress should at the VERY least censure any member that blamed this on any person other than the shooter. It’s unacceptable behavior.

      I could not agree more. As long as they believe what is being told to them, things will never change. Imagine a world where we could think freely without someone else’s interpretation of the facts. It appears all facts & logical thinking goes out the window when addressing the real issue. This man shot and killed 6 people and will leave many traumatized by his actions. Yet, all they can do is focus on is whether someone else made him do it. In other words: his political affiliation. I say, how about they actually allow him to take personal responsibility for his own cowardly act and man up to it. I give up on getting myself upset over these wild eyed accusations and just call the shooter what he is. A killer!
