Packers Star Sends Locker Room Message to Obama

Green Bay Packers corner Charles Woodson said President Obama needn’t come see his team play in the Super Bowl — because they’re going to see him in Washington.
“The president don’t want to come watch us at the Super Bowl, guess what?” Woodson said in post-game speech, “We’re going to see him.”
Obama had said he’d go to the Super Bowl in Dallas if the Bears won. But with the Green Bay win Sunday, it appears as though the trip is off.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 2:45pmThe wild thing is, Obama is a nerd that knows very little about sports, and cares even less. Did anybody realize his Bear-Packers score prediction was the exact outcome of the Bears-Packers match-up played earlier this year at Chicago?
This dude’s an empty a suit as there is. His idea of following sports is scanning the headlines of ESPN once a week.

Palin caused Tucson.

The need to control guns.
The need to restrict free speech.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 3:41pmReally sad the number of stories about the super bowl on the blaze, conservatives should waste their time with this drivel. Sports are encouraged to entertain the populous so they don’t realize how bad the ruling elite have made their lives.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 4:06pmSports are controlled and run by the socialist corporate elitists who like to brainwash Americans by making them idolize their fellow brothers as gods. It’s called idolatry in case you missed it. 2nd commandment, anyone? You should be worshipping the Lord God Almighty. Why worship man who is made of flesh and dies? The Lord God our Father is a living divine being who made us into His image and hasn’t died yet because He never dies. Glory be to God. Amen.

You guys need to lighten up, I’m as informed and upset about the current state of our government as the next guy, but don’t judge me for liking some sports. And go Blaze for having the article…it’s about news…all news. My goodness, spend some time enjoying your liberty…or at the very least let me enjoy mine. I’ll get back to thinking liberals are idiots right after the game, I promise. :) Go Giants (next year!)

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 4:25pm@JESUSISLORD….you need to take a chill pill……I do believe your going way overboard with your comment. Because people like sports does not mean their making idols out of sports stars. Grow up and quit telling us all that we should believe exactly as you do. People like you are the exact reason some people despise Christians and gives the rest of us a bad name.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 4:28pmWow…. get off your self righteous kicks please!!
Report Post »Yes, sports can be bad just like anything, but for goodness sake no one here is doing any “worshipping” of the athletes. If anything, professional athlete worship has gone down in the last 10 years based on the fact that these guys are looking more human than ever: Brett Favre, Tiger Woods, et al.
Sports are entertainment and while there certainly are going to be people that take it beyond what it’s worth, there are also just as many that casually enjoy sports for what they are.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 6:11pmActually organized sports are designed as an out let for males to cheer on their tribe to victory. They are designed to keep our thoughts on the team’s failures and triumphs instead of our own loss of masculinity/freedom. They are used by the global elite to keep the rabble in check. Roman colosseum any one? One more reason they no longer teach history in public schools, so we do not recognize the same old tricks. Watching sports is no sin like many things as long as it does not come before God. It is playing into the global elites hands though. America sits distracted why they rape our grand children’s future.
Report Post »JJ Coolay
Posted on January 24, 2011 at 6:55pmSports were not designed as some conspiracy to distract the masses. That’s absurd.
Report Post »The invention of sports was to create new activities for people.
James Naismeth invented basketball for example, because there was nothing to do in the winter in snowy Massachusetts.
Come on people, some ideas are pretty radical here.
Sports are a great thing for people. They get kids active, create sportsmanship and unity. Give people things to look forward to, entertainment wise.
As with anything you can overdo it and it becomes bigger or more important than things that truly matter… but when in perspective, sports can be a great thing. I can‘t believe how people act like it’s some evil creation or a bigger government plot.
It’s not like watching a game on Sunday blinds us all to what our government is doing.
WE CAN CHEW GUM AND WALK AT THE SAME TIME.
