Padded, Push-Up Bikini Tops for 8-Year-Old Girls? Again Abercrombie & Fitch Sexualizes Children

Just when you think we have drained everything out of the ‘Stupid Idea’ pool and closed it down for good, someone starts filling it up. Hello Abercrombie & Fitch.

A & F, the retailer often associated with sexualizing young adults, is selling a padded, push-up bikini top for young girls on their A&F Kids site. (a website with a target audience of 7-13yr olds)

Padded, Push Up Bikini Tops for 8 Year Old Girls? Again Abercrombie & Fitch Sexualizes Children

As the news of this product started to gain some attention, A&F quickly changed the website.  They did not remove the product, merely dropped a couple of words.

Padded, Push Up Bikini Tops for 8 Year Old Girls? Again Abercrombie & Fitch Sexualizes Children

‘Push-up’, and ‘padded’ have disappeared from the online catalogue ad. (Tip of the cap to Julia Rubin at Styleite.com for catching this change.)

The question still remains. . . Padded, push-up bras for second grade girls?

Controversy about sexualizing young girls is not new to A&F.  Dial it back to 2002 when the company was selling thongs to pre-teens. Thongs decorated with cherries and hearts on them, and sayings like ‘wink wink’ and ‘kiss me.’ The outrage was substantial, but even more bizarre was the official response from a company spokesperson, Hampton Carney who was quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle saying;

“It’s not appropriate for a 7 year old, but it is appropriate for a 10 year old. Once you get about 10, you start to care about your underwear, and you start to care about your clothes.”

What message are they sending to young girls?

As a non-parent, I literally have ‘no skin’ in this game, but I can be outraged for my brothers and sisters who do have young children.

And what would be the reaction be if two young ladies who happen to live in Washington DC and are right in the middle of the desired demo for A&F Kids, let’s call them Malia and Sasha… one is 12 and the other 9 yrs old. What do you think their mom might do if they ordered these bathing suits online and had them delivered to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?

this is a collective effort of the left

they start teaching them in elementary school……………..all of you with kids should look at federal requirements for public schools,,,,,,,,,its mandatory if they receive any federal dollars……..and every one does, in every state.

the lesson plans as of recently have changed ( since 1990′s) and are pushing U.N. sponsored ideals meant to change the way our kids think

    look into this site http://www.edwatch.org/lewrockwell/yates.htm

    and this one http://www.lewrockwell.com/yates/yates-arch.html

In 1994 alone, this effort received three major boosts, in the form of the Goals 2000 Educate America Act, the School-To-Work Opportunities Act (STW), and a bill known simply as HR6, a funding appropriations bill for most federal education programs. Bill Clinton signed all three. (More recently, of course, George W. Bush signed the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, which we are led to believe superceded STW.) Taken together, these bills hand control over curricular content to federal educrats, resulting in the New Federal Curriculum: FedEd, for short. Quist identifies seven themes running through FedEd (p. 43, p. 100, pp. 131-32, etc.):

    1. Undermining national sovereignty (moving us toward world government under the auspices of the United Nations).
    2. Redefining natural rights (substituting for the American view a Marxist and internationalist view justifying massive redistribution of wealth).
    3. Minimizing natural law (essentially by neglect).
    4. Promoting environmentalism (emphasizing the global nature of environmental issues, including promoting the pagan pseudo-religion of Gaia, Mother Earth).
    5. Requiring multiculturalism (including acceptance of homosexuality).
    6. Restructuring government (toward the idea that we live in a “global village,” defining citizenship in global terms).
    7. Redefining education as job skills (preparing “human resources” for the global workforce).

Please expend suficient time to read the MANY pages available
      http://www.learn-usa.com/index.htm

… certain segments of the population must be programmed to be robotic drones, incapable or unwilling to think on their own. In this scenario, the “individual” is the enemy of the state. Individual thinking and choice are not conducive to “peace and progress” and not permitted. Only by being part of “The Team,” can the individual (follower) accomplish objectives or “outcomes.” Of course, these “objectives and outcomes” are directed by the bureaucracy. This phase of population training is currently being accomplished by the public school system with such programs as “outcomes based education,” and the introduction of New Ageism into the classroom. One has to remember that Adolf Hitler pioneered a similar tactic with his Hilterjugend and state-sponsored school system. To quote the Fuhrer, “When an opponent declares: ‘I will not come over to your side,’ I calmly say ‘your child belongs to me already. Who are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing but this new community.’”

As a mom of a girl who’s in the age-range of this advertising I’ll tell you straight-out that I would NOT buy a swimsuit with “padded” or “push-up” in the title for my daughter. If I had ordered after they’d changed the ad and it had come with “padding” and “push-up” ability, I’d have sent it back.

I already have a hard time finding a bra that’s not a “push-up” for my daughter as she’s outgrown the “girl” bras but isn’t old enough to try to “look bigger” than she really is!!! When I found some unpadded bras in her size I bought 4 at a time!! The last thing I need is her swimsuit to be as hard to find!

My seventeen year old wears a one-peice because she dresses modest.
When it comes to spegetti straps there is a top under it or a sweater top over it.
All her choice, because she is modest. Unfortunately peer pressure to be in and
dress fashionable saturates our schools, and Im speaking of the age of 17.
My seventeen yr old says she wants to remain individual and different, and modest.
At the age of 8 she did, and still does, wear disneys ehor, lilo and stitch, tigger and Mickey Mouse.
As she just pointed out looking at the picture, “Mom 8 year-olds don’t have chests.”

When i was at college the Professors went on and on about how they were going to deconstruct childhood and FREE the children
That childhood was an artificial construct and THEY were going to free them from the myth of innocents.
Well here is a prof. that writes about it.
    de– constructing childhood.

    SHE’S KICKIN’ ASS, THAT’S WHAT SHE’S
    DOING!’
    Deconstructing Childhood ‘Innocence’ in
    Media
Kerry H. Robinson and Cristyn Davies
Adults often have a nostalgic longing for childhood, reminiscing that it
is a time of carefree fantasy that is too quickly lost. Within this constructed dichotomy,
certain kinds of knowledge become the exclusive rights of adulthood. Politics, sex and
death, for instance, become adult knowledge from which children are excluded (Silin
1995). The moral panic around the potential loss of childhood innocence, or more
specifically childhood itself, reaches its extremities when considered within the realm of
sexuality (Robinson 2008). Sexuality is an area of identity that is often represented as
‘adults only’, one from which children are perceived to be in need of protection (Robinson
2005a). We argue that childhood innocence is complex, constructed and contradictory, a
concept that is manufactured by adults for adults (Gittins 1998) and consequently has
critical impacts on children’s agency in their lives (Robinson and Davies 2007).

My first husband used to say I wore a “size minus four bra” because (he said) my measurements were 12-12-12. (Dolly Parton I am not! Tall women are not ususally well-endowed in that department, and I’ve always been thin.)

So, when my son married, I had to go buy a red bra to wear under a red dress, and I told the sales lady that “I needed a little help” with that department. She brightened right up. “I have the very thing for you! I call it the ’roundup bra.’ ” I asked her why. “Because it ‘heads ’em up and moves ‘em out!’ ” To this day I think of it as the roundup bra!

Showtime I couldn’t agree more. I have 8 grand children (6 girls) and if see one of them with this on I’m going to examine their parents heads first after I take and burn this thing. Also the government wonders why we have girls getting pregnant at age 10 now!!!???? I hate the fact of the innocence of the young is being taken from them. Such a sad state of affairs for our youth. They can’t enjoy being “a kid” anymore.

This country has lost it’s moral compass… completely. It manifests itself in filth like this, and the fact that people like Bill Maher have an audience.
      Read the founders.
Read about the Declaration of Independence.
Read how our Constitution was written.
      Read The Federalist Papers.
In everything you read, you will see that the founders of this country warned that if we lost our morality, we would lose our Republic.
34% of the founders writings made mention of the gospel.
      Their warnings are coming true.

I am so sick of this store! I went into one in our local mall one day and they were selling their quarterly magazine which was nothing less than porn. It was sealed in plastic and had the word SEX on the front in red. I was appalled! I refuse to go in there anymore, and refuse to let my kids go in there or patronize them by buying anything. It’s all kids that go in there!

Queerconservative, put a story up about those other stores selling bikinis to baby girls and see the response you’d get.

This a & f store is for perverts anyway. If you buy a bikini for your daughter at any age you are a pervert. That’s child molestation. And it doesn’t matter where you buy it.

Who Is G. Edward Griffin, Beck’s Expert On The Federal Reserve?
      March 26, 2011 3:03 am ET — 140 Comments

On his Fox News show, Glenn Beck presented author G. Edward Griffin as a credible authority on the Federal Reserve. But Griffin has an extensive history of promoting wild conspiracy theories, including the notions that HIV does not exist and that cancer is a dietary deficiency that can be cured with “an essential food compound.”

This is absolutely ridiculous, why are people flipping out over Abercrombie & Fitch for making clothes for skinny girls!? Go any department or big-box store and they’ll have bikinis for TODDLERS, I know because I just saw some at Macy’s yesterday… and they’ve been doing it for years! Yet I‘ve never heard of an outcry against Macy’s or Wal-Mart for stocking baby bikinis…

I have made such complaints. when you try to buy a bathing suit for your 6 month old and all you can find are two piece bikinis. Let me tell you this mamma was MAD.
